  1. As you might guess from my avatar, I kinda like this game. I'd love to play some multiplayer on a good, not public to everyone vanilla survival server. the EB server idea has been thrown around and personally I could buy a server for us to play on if there is enough intrest. Dedication makes for good fun on minecraft servers. I know a respected host that has some good prices.
  2. Like the chinese give a flying moose about copyright :P I'm always amazed how people can build internal things from external pictures. I see people bashing the truck like it's the most horrid thing they've seen. I don't think it looks that bad, he skip looks a bit unprofessional though. I'm more annoyed that it is'nt anything new. We've had these sort of trucks many times already!
  3. I chose the colors based on what i had the least. Extra level of challenge :) Thanks for the kind words y'all.
  4. I'd really like lego to go back to the style where the motorization of the models was optional. Especially on models like this that has only one or two motorized functions. As a person who doesn't keep models assembled for long I just don't need that many batteryboxes.
  5. Here comes the harvester! looks like i forgot that sticker there, whoops And all togehter Current functions: Tractor - steering in the front - 3 piston inline engine - opening hood Trailer - turning front axle - lifting skipper - locking "rear board" Harvester - steering on the back - rotating cutter driven by the front wheels - clutch to toggle rotation - lifting cutter head - adjustable cut height ( lifts only the cutter but not the scoop)
  6. Unless you royally screw up I think my entry stands no chance :P Excellent work and great concept. Never thought about using pull-backs.
  7. 20-30 Eh? I estimated the part count of my harvester's cutter to nearly a hundred. Also it seems I have competition ;) Check my wip thread if you want to avoid similarities.
  8. The limited amount of wheel sizes is propably the cause here.
  9. 8880 is nowhere near technic figure scale. It's like double the scale. Anyways, remember that TLG is a company that needs its profit so they can't just pump out large scale super-functional models. There needs to be "entry sized" models, something pretty much anyone can afford. Yong kids lack the skill/patience to build the bigger ones too. Try making a pull-back car in 8110 scale, it won't be really playable. Minifig scale stays the same because it is, well, minifig scale. Those models are designed to work together. Technic models tend to be more stand-alone (Not saying it's better). And personally I'd find it utterly boring if all the models were the same size, some things work better small, some big.
  10. Do you think model team wheels would be better? They're the same diameter but narrower. I can't really shorten the wheelbase as the lift mechanism wouldn't fit
  11. Hello! Due to recent developements I'm forced to post this thread about my plans for the Triple contest. This was the first thing that popped to my mind and I was aware that someone else will propably come up with it aswell. Oh well. The trio is a combine harvester, a tractor and a trailer for the grains. First one of which is not presentable yet. Trailer and tractor look fine currently but their functions need some fine tuning yet. Pictures with terrible cellphone quality for that authentic mystery wip feeling. I call dibs!
  12. ... This totally isn't what i'm building ... Dang it ! now I look like a copycat. Edit: guess I'll have to post a WIP thread
  13. I'm not sure but it seems to connect the front and rear axle drives together, creating a sort of a centrer diff-lock.
  14. You could fit two 5-long half-beams to connect the upper and lower wishbones. That would strengthen it noticeably. Also I'd personally use slightly larger wheels. Otherwise really solid looking set-up
  15. Sweet. I've tried a similar scale with pneumatics and autovalves but couldn't fit 'em. Really sleek and smooth looking and the functionality seems top notch too. How much weight can it lift before tipping over?
  16. Cool! I would turn the XL the other way to avoid the wire rubbing on the axle.
  17. Please note that the OP is a year old. Might not be assembled anymore. Though it is a nice mod of the model. I just picked up the 8070 for a cheap (in Finland) price and thinking should I keep it or sell it as it doesn't have any new parts for me and someone else might be interested as it is discontinued.
  18. I was wondering why there was no thread for this. The model is coming together nicely it seems. Will only axles as the driveshaft be strong enough?
  19. I like the bottom picture with all the tubes and gears. Kinda like greeble but actually functional.
  20. It seems that #42025 is missing so there is a possibility we don't have everything yet.
  21. Problem is that the diff has the middle block so you could only have half a stud of an axle sticking out of the half beam. That wont work well with the first joint in the axle. Unless you are fine with cutting but then you should shorten the cv. I can't see this working with these parts. Oh wait, if you use the CV joint the other way around then maybe one stud is possible. Edit: Nope, the second cv joint makes it the same length again.
