After just seeing the BoFA, I'm even more disappointed in the Lego sets. I mean, Smaug is great, but really feels better placed on the DoS line-up, which would leave room for a bigger BoFA set. Maybe Ravenhill, but also maybe like the gates of the mountain. If Lego had confidence in the line beyond one wave of BoFA, I could see devoting new molds to several elements of the movie. I really hate to sound negative, but with how badly Lego phoned in the last movies sets makes me think the Middle Earth stuff is done...

Maybe a set with sandman and goblin using the new goblin-like hood piece? Maybe a non-red/blue spidey? -

All gone in my area. The price is/was just too good even with the printing issue (which I was fortunate to avoid).

Very cool! And probably cheaper to build than buying a games-workshop mini these days. I used to play Tau a few years back and this would have been a lifesaver for testing out new units and arsenal configurations.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Black widow's hair piece looks new. Maybe I'm just not seeing it from the right angle. It kinda looks curled at the ends. -
Double points is nice but by this time in the year, I'm all caught up. Maybe army-builder stuff or pick-a-brick might be worth going after.

The problem with unpinning it is that it will still rise to the top with useless posts that push other relevant topics or MOCs down. Look how long the balrog vs treebeard debate lasted. How many of those posts would have bumped other historical theme posts down, if this thread wasn't pinned?

I would bet money against an Ideas LOTR project being produced. Ideas has been great for single-shot licensed sets or sets that don't fit nicely into the current themes. Plus, Ideas doesn't incorporate sets as big as Lothlorien or Minas Tirith. As much as I would love LOTR to continue, no news is a sign. I wish there was something here to discuss, but I would agree with the mods that this thread can be safely unpinned or closed, as it has de-evolved into wish listing and off topic discussion.

Local TRU is running the rocket polybag promo again. They have a bin full of maybe 30-40 of them. Funny thing is this was the same TRU that was selling them after the first rocket promo. -
Smaug also has my vote. If he just had four legs and maybe in green he would be the best dragon possible and I'd buy several. Smaug has solid joints and wings, great printing, and the set he comes with is not that bad at all - overall a solid purchase.

What Will The 2016 Deadpool Movie Bring To LEGO?
HawkLord replied to CrazyDalton777's topic in LEGO Licensed
If anything I'm also hoping for a tie-in set like the X-Men Sentinel set for supporting characters. The previous Deadpool is really good, so with any luck other X-Men heroes or villians could be in any potential Deadpool set. I do agree that Deadpool isn't quite friendly enough to carry a small Lego series, though. -
Found about 30-ish minifigure cubes at target last night. They were on an endcap about six aisles from the Lego stuff, almost in another department. Four minifigures of some licensed variety for $15 is a pretty good deal.

I don't know yet if I'm going to get these... kinda on the fence. Still with that said, I think it's a great concept and really well done execution. I like that it feels really out of the norm with regards to other lego sets. This is really for people who enjoy creative models.

Lol... So Rocket was a buy-in promo after all... It's a shame most stores might be out of them by now... -
I got the same email. I'm not sure what to make of it and I know I won't be driving to the local lego store unless it's something big. I was honestly disappointed in last year's Black Friday sales. I'll check the website tomorrow and then decide...

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

That's the impression that I'm getting. Especially after seeing the "not for sale" on the back of the Rocket polybag. It seems like maybe tru got the TMNT polybag confused with the Rocket, because Rocket's packaging looks more like a promo than the TMNT's packaging. As for returns with a promo, with it being the holidays there's lots of new seasonal employees that stores are adding. I'm sure it would be easy to make that return fly with them. Old, grouchy employees probably not so much. -
The knight obviously did not have a magical weapon with which to dispatch the ghost and probably dropped his armor to get some distance... :P Still, I like the technics brick border and the terrain and ruins look really good.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
HawkLord replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hit two trus last night. The first one had no raccoons, no tags for them, and just the ninja turtles promo advertised throughout the lego section. We asked a stock person and they didn't know anything about a raccoon polybag. The other one basically the same thing, but as I was checking out I saw a box of raccoons behind the counter and asked about them. The cashier seemed alittle nervous like she didn't know what to do and told me she had just sold some to another person and thought it should be ok to sell some to me. It seems to me that maybe TRU is confused given they got in a raccoon polybag that clearly lists exclusive and they're running a ninja turtles polybag at the same time. -
Hopefully lego understands that some of these perks of buying from them directly effect their profit margins substantially over time. I mean, I buy direct from lego for the VIP points and occasional discounts because it gives them money directly and is a nice perk. I try to avoid buying from other stores like target or toysrus unless the deal is just too good.

REVIEW: 75056 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014
HawkLord replied to Ritz Brick's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This one has been in stock at nearly every store I've gone to - lego stores, target, Walmart, toysrus, etc. I think lego may be compensating for the sellout last year. Funny thing is, the 2013 set can still be bought pretty cheap despite the high mark-up (almost $100) just before Christmas last year. Great review and nice pics. I'm thinking I might open mine sooner than later. -
If anything maybe the recent bionicle news may help generate parts for a balrog...

Any locations in the US given for the Rocket polybag? Knowing even which state would be tons of help... -
I'm hopeful for a Tolkien movie franchise, similar to Harry Potter. I thought for sure HP was done, but now they're making movies based not on HP directly, but still in that world. The same could be done with Tolkien, especially if you look at the Tolkien world video games. Plus, there is a lack of fantasy IPs right now making movies, so Tolkien movies could fill that role. That said, I'm hoping some Tolkien movie develops to provide more material and potentially more Lego sets to make.
