Definitely nailed a cute and innovative version of yoda - looks great!

Very, very grey shuttle. Don't quite know what to make of it off the static pic, but I'm hoping it has some functionality, like moving wings. If it doesn't, then I'm hoping it doesn't have any minifigures I would want.

I prefer the flesh tones because it just looks better to me. I think it would be tough to live in a Lego world of all yellow figures but still have some things like aliens and creature in appropriate colors. Why limit the human skin tone pallet? I know over detailing Lego can move it away from its simplistic roots, but all other toy products are moving forward. Action figures are way more detailed than when I was a kid (when they were really just stick figures), so why not take Lego to that next level?

6086-X Return to the Black Knight's Castle
HawkLord replied to Dubbadgrim's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
One of my favorite sets as a kid. This is the best remake I have ever seen of that castle. Very well done! How many pieces are in it do you think? -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
HawkLord replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's a shame. It sounds like design flaws, which are easy enough to fix. This won't go big on the secondary market for this issue, as it doesn't sound like a true "error" collectible; more like throw in a couple more bricks and its solved. -
I usually go with the numbered bags, as I don't have a lot of time to sort through everything all piled up. Plus, I find some colors get confusing, so it's alittle easier to not mix them up too much. Man, I sound old...

I prefer microfighters over planets any day. If anything the quantity of bricks and fun builds are nice in the microfighters where the planets just had a big globe of plastic I couldn't really use.

Very well done! I like the last pic with the CMF Alien and SW R2-D2.

I think it's a great set with no home. It might fit into star wars alittle, but without a really dedicated and future based space line, people will pass on it. I agree that a Classic Space resurgence could have helped it's sales alittle, but given the material in the set (not being overly new), it was a success for Lego. They also probably need the space for the Ideas Doctor Who set and Dimensions.

Why is LEGO now being made in China?
HawkLord replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm fine with the China manufacturing as long as the quality stays consistent. From my own experience, the quality has been good in the past few years, so I don't have anything major to complain or be concerned about. I've had a couple CMFs that have had loose joints and the like, but it hasn't impacted my main Lego lines yet. -
What is Your Favorite Lord of the Rings Set?
HawkLord replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I went with Weathertop because of the figure selection and the reasonable build. It relays an important scene and it has the new Lego horses (which I was thrilled with). My second vote world have been for Gandalf Arrives, because that scene was so iconic.- 36 replies

I agree with Deathleech, it's the printed stuff I would most like to have. Builds I can and already do myself - Mt Doom, Balrog, Ents can all be made out of parts I own. But printed Gondor uniforms and armor, as well as, facial printing is the biggest deal for me and what I can't readily replicate.

I think the Lego Ideas platform would have way too much trouble getting the license holders to agree to having Superman and Nick Fury in the same set. Marvel and DC (and whoever else got added) would not allow this. The set itself does represent a diner booth very well.

So, the twelfth doctor in a Dimensions set? At least that might mean they could use the twelfth doctor's screwdriver in an eleventh doctor's Ideas set...

Why is the grey baseplate so expensive?
HawkLord replied to Endriu's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I much prefer the 32x32 and even though I have one 48x48, I've not yet built on it. I also wish Lego would have kept the dark green and blue for variety. -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

My wife was amazing enough to pick up the Hulkbuster set for me, as it's been selling out everywhere. I like most of the Hulkbuster build, but man is he tall! -
I really like the coat printing on Han and think it turned out well. Leia's poncho also works really well, though it might benefit from some belt printing to break it up.

I think BB8 has to be a new mold. Star Wars certainly warrants it and I'm sure Lego will get mileage out of it with three movies.

Grievous looks great. I hope his arms can connect for the two-arm version. Kenobi is a pass. The human head just doesn't look that great. It would have been nice if it was a ROTS Kenobi, so he could have a reason for being with Grievous. And then later be paired with a ROTS Anakin.

Really? That'll make three in WA - Lynnwood, Bellevue, and now Tulwila... surprising. Hope they have the usual store opening promos available. I'd certainly go for another set of WA printed minifigures.

The problems appears to be that the PaM space will occupy some the PaB wall. If it's anything like the two Lego stores I go to, the wall doesn't have any extra space on either side to add the PaM stuff, so it would have to be a replacement item.
-
I don't know what to make of this until I see the PaM sets. As someone who tends to buy a lot of the same color family of bricks, limiting the number of bins available hurts my chances.

Very clever! One of the better April 1st gags I've seen. :)

Save on plastic and maybe allow for a slight amount of flexibility with the ball.

Maybe MOC the sets you want and buy bricks as cheap as possible. Lego can be addictive. Bricks are small and inexpensive on their own and it's easy to get swept in collecting bricks and sets. It's kinda like Magic the Gathering, CCGs, or sports cards, because the collection can be very vast quickly. But even though Lego is also art, it doesn't behave like normal art in terms of supplies. A brick is a very reusable item and that's what helps make bricks seem so simple and easy to manage. My advice would be appreciate every brick you have. As Lego always says you can make a myriad of things just from a handful of bricks.
