  1. Those are some great customs! Rohan is probably the easiest and maybe most fun to pull off from existing parts and as a less organized group, they don't really need a uniform look - just general colors. The CMF line has lots of good parts to use, as well as the last Castle line - which can be found for cheap.
  2. Sets without minifigures don't do very well on the secondary market - it's a common practice for minifigure collectors to do that. I would say you should keep it if you can use the parts. I would suggest selling it on eBay as a method.
  3. Could be an error. The "Battle on Takodana" set was listed at some Target stores under the name "Hall of Mirrors", which is what it was called to throw off people before it was released. I think there was even a pic of the price tag posted here on Eurobricks.
  4. I'm thinking we won't see the fourth set till closer to when BatsVSupes is released. That way Marvel can put out all their secret Spidey stuff to trump the buzz of DC's movie.
  5. Pushing Hemsworth in the international market trailer just because an all-woman cast would have weaker results is just sad. Totally the opposite direction of where this should be going.
  6. Having some type of Heroclix or, as mentioned above, LOTR TMG type character stat tracking would be good. Small plate bases and different colored studs could be used to track hit points, damage output, movement, etc.
  7. I think he did have a purple astromech in one set.
  8. No, from what I've read in the Dimensions sections, there will be practically no going back to themes they've already released Dimensions material for. So, a lot of the Dimensions stuff is one and done, more or less. People have been asking the same thing about Dimensions Doctor Who and BttF and the general reply from those in the know seems to be that Lego is just not going back. Dimensions and Ideas are not the way AFOLs are going to get another shot at LOTR material. I think the best everyone can hope for is Jackson coming through with The Silmarilian and maybe Lego stuff for that.
  9. That purple looks great! Really takes me back to when Hasbro made various purple things for Mace - like his own purple starfighter and his purple clone trooper. Very nicely done.
  10. Realistically, Lego has been more than making money since 2013 (the last real year for LOTR), so I dont think they need to go back to LOTR for financial reasons. I would also say that Dimensions has been seemingly doing well given its got a lot more material coming out this year. True, Lego has had some Dimensions stuff go on sale, but that has happened with all their lines. Not a sign of failure.
  11. Sam, Merry, Pippin, and Boromir seem to be the highest priced ones on the secondary. Each one only appeared in one set each and are vital for completing the Fellowship. Rohan, Orcs, and Uruk-Hai are also big for army-building. I think the fact that the line was so short-lived threw off a lot of collectors. I was lucky enough to buy two copies of each set, but at the time I kept thinking it might have been foolish because there could be more sets in the future. I thought the LOTR line was going to last at least as long as The Hobbit, so I thought there was always going to be different versions of everyone to get. Lego had done the same thing with other popular IPs. Being a Star Wars collector, I'm used to picking and choosing because the same main characters come around all the time. As it was, LOTR was a springboard for The Hobbit, which rom all merchandising standpoints did not do well. If I had known the LOTR line was going to be as short-lived as it was, I probably would have bought three or four copies of each set for all the great bricks and minifigures.
  12. Sleeveless arms with black hands or maybe Superboy's arms. Maybe a Jurassic World ACU tactical vest.
  13. Maybe a Jurassic World ACU tactical vest could help. Granted it's not the exact color, but it does make for a more soldier look.
  14. Excellent parts usage! Those flying creatures look great with heads made of the sleepy guy hairpiece - looks like small tentacles. Really good job!
  15. Those characters listed would primarily need civilian clothes, except maybe Walter/Jesse who could benefit from a hazmat suit from the CMF line. With that said, given the basic nature of the looks, it should be easy to find the parts. The only tricky part would be the heads. Walter would need a goatee, while everyone else would be really basic. My only concern would be to make basic, generic minifigures that can look enough to be recognizable. I mean, Olivia is just a girl in basic clothes, Walter Bishop is just an old guy in basic clothes. Might be hard to pull off.
  16. You can get Gimli and Legolas cheap-ish in the Dimension packs. Otherwise, with the realization that LOTR is not coming back, some of these minifigures are getting to become pretty chase given that some characters only appeared in one set.
  17. Considering that Cap appears in four new sets this year and an upcoming polybag, I'm good on not seeing Cap for awhile. No matter what kind of outfit or armor.
  18. This is true. JJ is such a departure from Gordon, I don't know how it will play out. He'll have to tone back a lot and be less funny. Could be a great move, though.
  19. I really like Nexo Knights and am on the fence about buying into it. Knowing me, I'd go in for a lot and I just don't know if I have the collection space right now for another theme. If the ultimate packs were a little cheaper that could help, because one of my focuses would be army-building.
  20. Regardless of what the new Death Star turns out to be, I think the price and minifigure count will be the biggest surprise to me. The 10188 had so many minifigures, that I think a new DS will be hard pressed to come close and still provide something new, since we've been getting some good main character revisits over the past couple years.
  21. I definitely don't watch Doctor Who for Amy. It's not the "Amy and Ragedy Man" show after all. Besides companions would have barely any mechanic/function in the game.
  22. I agree the RPG market is getting killed by tabletop games that can be built and played in an evening or online games that require no set-up. If anything, some kind of intro pack would be required in a buildable theme that would allow gamers to be able to make the most character types right away - Warriors, Mages, Rogues, etc. And then some kind of GM pack with Orcs, Goblins, etc.
  23. I think it makes a lot of sense not to go back to the same well often. If Lego starts to make deeper line-ups of the same IPs then it could show favoritism and make the whole Dimensions concept seem like a popularity contest. This way if Lego goes with as many IPs as possible the whole game becomes more diverse and it helps retail partners view the game as endlessly expansive. Sure, I really like Doctor Who, but what would an Amy or Rory really bring to the table? I've also not seen much in the way of consistent selling out. Yes, product ebbs and flows and there was a time when it first dropped that the Doctor Who packs were scarce, but now everything seems back to being well stocked.
  24. I think the new movie Ecto-1 is a July 1st release and the movie drops July 15th.
