That's the best Friends MOC I've ever seen - very creative!
-
That's a pretty cool little ship. Very close to the source material.

I'm only buying what little I have so far for the parts to use in other Fantasy stuff. The creature are probably the most useful bit and maybe some armor and weapons. Otherwise, I'm not into the story.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
HawkLord replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I used to care about keeping extras pieces with their sets, but now not so much. Unless it's a play set style build with outdoor scenery where the extra pieces could be added as more terrain. If it a vehicle though the extras just go right into the sorting parts bin. -
DC's Atom and Marvel's Captain America (new comic based costume) have been announced in the Licensed Section of this board.

Marvel and DC SDCC exclusives just got announced (but not previewed) so here's hoping we see what Lego does for Star Wars soon.

SDCC Superheroes Exclusive Minifigures Guessing Game 2016
HawkLord replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Cap will probably look cool. I'm not a DC guy, so the Atom doesn't impact me. I'm just glad it's not an X-Men character... -
You'll be able to get this if you spend $50 in a physical Lego store or the Lego online store. Generally, the physical stores sell out of them faster than the online store, though.
-
Plano. I find them at Walmarts and Fred Meyers stores, though you can probably find comparable ones at hardware and sports stores.

I've been using tackle boxes with customizable inserts to allow for different sizes and what not. Same brand and type I use for storing certain Lego bricks and gaming supplies.

SDCC Superheroes Exclusive Minifigures Guessing Game 2016

Marvel: Stan Lee as Captain America (kinda like the Pops vinyl figures) DC: TV-verse Flash -
I think the Diamond Select line really hit the mark with TNG. They managed to pull off secondary and tertiary characters pretty well and all had good likenesses. My bridge crew remains one of my favorite sets of action figures I own. My concern has always been that after the 90s, Star Trek really tried to be Star Wars. It was less about the voyage and discovery and more about fighting aliens. Picard could lead a team without ever raising a weapon. Now Kirk can't finish a scene without a phaser. The Abrams reboot certainly glorifies this by making Spock into some kind of Hulk that has to get angry and then punch somebody out. We're seeing so many television reboots and most look like straight fails. I'm very much thinking Star Trek will be the same thing.

Ah, good to know. Thank you.

Just to clarify since I didn't watch the CW show - is Forest Whitaker's character someone who appeared on the CW show?

LEGO Store Calendar - August 2016
HawkLord replied to esampsonite's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Pretty cool! Thank you for posting this. Looks like a lot of people will end up with that mini London bus given the Marvel sets that come out in August. -
The lack of weaponry is sad. Still I have the coupon, so why not? I'll be there anyway for the Castle minifigure promo. I wish he wasn't just a basic guard or something. Something akin to the quality of the Ultimates packs would have helped, but obviously with less accessories.

Very true. The Disney curtain on all the TFA merchandise actually made it hard to get excited since no one knew quite what was coming out.

Saw the movie this past weekend and overall it was likeable, but not solid. Most of the new cast was not used properly and while I know they shouldn't have a whole lot of back story to worry about, it just felt like too much too fast. I was bored with Apocalypse, as he just felt preachy all the time. I was also bored with Jennifer Lawrence. I felt like when she first played Mystique she was still coming up as an actress and didn't mind the blue and now that she's popular, it's no surprise that the story involves her being blue less often. I kinda prefer my Mystiques to be blue... and also with clothes and no scales. Prof X was great as usual. Magneto seemed phoned in and I'm tired of the "is he a good guy or not" plot. Wolverine saved the movie by bringing it all together - one of the best scenes with him going berserk rage. The end costumes were great, but each needed just a bit more color and style to really make me feel like we're finally getting the classic X-Men. The end credit scene was quite a tease.

Some companies are still previewing their SDCC exclusives, so Lego could be next in line.
-
I thought it was any order of $50 or more. Any theme. I'll echo what others have said - awesome little set and I really like this exclusive sub-line that Lego is making yearly.
-
Outstanding review! Thank you for posting it. I'll still be waiting to see the movie before deciding on the set, but it does look very promising with those nicely done minifigures and all the useful pieces.

I actually like all of those. The Senate guards are useful. The Geonosian troopers are unique (and the promoted torsos can be used on other military figures). And any OT battlepack is worth it. Sure we could get Stormies at some point, but its good to get this variety.

I would suspect that in the case of minifigures made from specific IPs, that Lego and the IP holder could go after those involved. But I would guess that it's just not financially worth their time and effort.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Funko is doing a huge amount of exclusives. Hopefully Lego is just doing one or two of characters no one "needs". -
Even out the frown and it's good enough for OT.
