  1. In 2006 LFL released two-disc packs of each OT Star Wars movie. One disc is the Special Edition version and one disc is the original theatrical release. With that said, there is some debate on whether the quality of the theatrical version is the same, as it does look touched up. But, if you're looking for a "Han shot first" version, this is the way to go. And having all three, I can say their great. The DVD theatrical versions have not been released since and their prices seem to span the range on eBay and the like.
  2. I half feel that Lego and WB made a special arrangement to offer that much printing. I don't think there's a set in that price point that has ever had so much minifigure printing. The other thing to remember is that Lego knows (as does everyone) that Star Wars sells itself. It doesn't need fancy printing to sell sets. In fact the Star Wars license has some of the worst minifigure per dollar ratios out there. Compare the Star Wars Eclipse Fight for $30 with two minifigures to the Marvel Tanker Takedown for $30 with four minifigures. That's just one example. I don't want to turn this into a price rant-post, but I'm just saying it really isn't fair to compare Star Wars to other licenses when it's obvious that Lego has vastly different objectives and limitations with the Star Wars license.
  3. ROTLA Indy with idol and TOD Indy with idol both appear to be park exclusives for now. I'm sure Indy without idols will appear later. The same thing happened last year. The SDCC exclusives had the SDCC sticker at the con and then when they were released retail they had the Summer Exclusive sticker. That way everyone can get one, but the SDCC ones stay more valuable.
  4. I read a review that I thought was very fair. Basically, for all the old school Trekkies, it states that this a good movie for the new generation/version of what Trek has become. I'm the first one to say "where's the exploration?" when it comes to reboot Trek movies, but it seems incorrect to wish these movies felt more like TOS or TNG. The modern era of where the world is at seems to not want Trek to go that route, which is fine, but sometimes hard to get used to. Trek needs this new Star Wars actiony feel to stay relevant.
  5. So far that seems to be the case with the exclusive Indy, but I'm sure there will be a mass released one without the idol. Indy is too big a license to keep contained like that. I just got my SB for July and I'm disappointed. Bar2 is just not a big enough draw for the box and the rest of the contents aren't that great. Another mug I'll never use. Another stuffed toy I'll never use. And even though I have a small hat collection, this one is one I would not have bought if I came across it in a store. Plus, for whatever reason, the last two boxes have had Pops with boxes that were in less than great shape - last SB both Fett and IG-88 had some wear. It makes me hesitant to sign up for another year of SB. I dropped off of getting another year of MCC because of lack of interest.
  6. I think the current Hasbro contract continues until 2020 or at least that was what was mentioned a few years back. Disney ultimately controls that contract so at that time, if Lego pushes for it and Disney accepts, we could see more minifigure packs. But also remember that main characters or exciting characters are what push the sales of sets and Lego doesn't want to lose out on being able to offer new models with new minifigures.
  7. I'm not a DC guy, but that Joker Lowrider is on my list. Amazing printing and really one of the biggest steps up in any line/theme.
  8. Wow! Looks very faithful to the product type and character. Hopefully, you'll work on more LOTR/Hobbit characters. Nicely done.
  9. Feed Pokemons, don't feed trolls. Ignore trolls and they go away. Keep talking to them and they stay in the thread.
  10. True story. I have that giant blue snake monster pop and try to eat me all the time. But I'm always alert and can easily avoid it because I'm aware of my surroundings. I'm sure in the future the game will provide some type of trading option and then I'm sure people will be paying real money for digital Pokemon. Personally, I'm really hoping they make trading and PvP real soon. And by PvP I mean not the gym stuff.
  11. I never played any Pokemon when it first came out back in the 90s as I think I was just too old for it. Then I heard about Pokemon Go and how awesome it was/is. I started actively playing this past weekend and find that its pretty fun, especially if you're just going out for a walk anyway. So, far I've mostly stayed in park areas and have gathered the usual commons. I have two evolved Pokemon, as I've read that evolving is more important than powering. The only drawback so far is just the server downtime. This weekend was pretty bad and yesterday had a drop for some of the afternoon. My favorite so far is Paras because he looks funny.
  12. The builds are to provide a play element, as these are still toys marketed to kids. The advantage with these sets for me is the cheap cost of minifigures.
  13. I think the best and safest way would be to open it to look. If you ever decided to sell it in the future, at least then yourself and the other party would know for sure.
  14. Right, but the reason we all like Thrawn is the EU that he is in. There is a chance that whatever use Disney decides to make with Thrawn could totally backfire, because the character alone can't work without the story they were in. It's like if I said Captain Picard from ST:TNG is going to be in Star Wars. Great, I love the character and the story, but will I love it when Disney inserts it randomly in a timeline or place that I'm unfamiliar with the character existing in?
  15. Well, Thrawn in Rebels is totally going to have his timeline be off. It's very doubtful that he's alive in Rebels and would stay alive past ROTJ. This means the Thrawn we're getting may not be the same as the Thrawn we know. I'm even willing to bet that Zahn's Thrawn book next year will reflect this change. So, his personality will be the same, but his life will be different.
  16. Shadows would make a great sub-theme, but it'll never happen. Disney is really picking and choosing what they take from the EU and like Thrawn, they'll throw those characters where ever they see fit. I'm disappointed that Thrawn will appear in the wrong timeline and I'm thinking the Zahn Thrawn book next year is going to re-write his story, but not character traits.
  17. Day One purchase if this was a real set.
  18. That feels very strange, especially for such desirable sets. And I always disagree when companies don't allow their physical stores to carry (or even order) the same products that appear on their websites. It just seems counterintuitive and almost competitive within their company. What's funny is that Lego doesn't even need to offer individual store exclusives as incentives anymore. They're already dominating the market, so they don't need to float Walmart or the like anything in order to maintain that business.
  19. Looks like a new useful hair piece. Straight and long. Looks like a fun pack, despite that I don't know anything about the character.
  20. Great MOC. It's always interesting seeing what people were doing back then with such limited parts.
  21. Alderwood Mall (Lynnwood) Lego store has about a full large PaB cup left of the sand green 1x1 bricks and 1x2 plates. I just took a small cup's worth of both from their yesterday.
  22. Got the Nexo Knight promo minifigure - the one with coupon. It's such a nice little box package for such a common-ish minifigure. They could've just put it in a polybag.
  23. I was hoping that Thrawn may play a part in the sequel trilogy, but this timeline means he's probably dead by TFA.
  24. It's like getting in the Star Wars Hall of Fame. Finally, Thrawn is canon.
  25. So, Thrawn is finally canon? Nice. Now I might actually buy a Rebels set. Unless they're naming this guy something else and just making him Thrawn-like...
