I think the overall look is very creative, but as an Ideas project it looks very similar to Funko Pop figures and may be moot anyway, as Lego is producing Brickheadz for Marvel and DC next year. There's a very good chance Brickheadz will extend to Star Wars, as well. Both instances hurt the chance of success with Ideas.

I've never heard of these nor have seen them. Do you know if there's any supporting material that showcases these? I'm not doubting you, but it would be easier to sell something like this with some type of info that substantiates it. Lego seems to make things like this periodically, but it's hard to track because they're one-shot items.

I think it looks outstanding. The non-symmetric base and foliage look really well done and the the colors and techniques throughout are very well executed. An awesome MOC.

They still can but haven't really put out anything new except for Transformers. Their Star Trek and D&D sets are long dead.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
HawkLord replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think not. That senator in TPM wasn't even given a name, as far as I know. Besides, he started as E.T. first. -
I don't think that's the point. The Jedi and Republic of the PT is supposed to be one of the high-points of the whole Star Wars timeline.

Looks brilliant. The bridge is very nice and the black around it works well in contrast. The dragon steals the show.

Ultimates are a hard price point. One $10 minifigure sitting next to $12 Licensed battlepacks that have four minifigures or those army-builder packs. That's why I haven't bothered with them after getting Lavaria.

Best years of Lego sets Discussion
HawkLord replied to LegoRomania's topic in General LEGO Discussion
2009 is the year I got back into Lego, so the sets I bought from that time are kinda personally special. I would say 2013 probably had the best sets for me overall. Star Wars PT and OT sets were solid. The BTTF DeLorean was great. Finished LOTR. I would guess I probably bought more sets that year than any other year thus far. -
Well, remember before TPM came out, SLJ really wanted to be in the PT and even petitioned GL to make him a Stormtrooper (who would be like a hidden cameo) because he loved Star Wars so much. Had SLJ not pushed so much, who knows what other character GL would have made in place of Mace. Overall, Mace seems too stern all the time as a Jedi. A very "my way or nothing else" type character, which may have been because SLJ can play very stern characters well. Mace was alittle better in the comics during the PT years. Given his stature as the best lightsaber user of the Jedi (hence his purple lightsaber) his fight with Sidious was horrible and was probably his weakest moment.

Huh, Detroit Steel... never heard of him. Granted, I'm not a super hardcore comic fan, but I could have named at a few other Iron Man villains that could have come before Detroit Steel. Definitely a factor on whether I'll buy the set, because this will be the first Marvel set where I literally have no working knowledge on a character - every other Marvel set I could have told you something about the characters in it.

I'm a Star Wars guy and yet every bit of the Marvel winter wave is sounding more interesting than what Star Wars has going on right now. I'm thrilled were getting so many comic incarnations in addition to the MCU.

Not quite. Hasbro is releasing two X-Men themed waves in their Marvel Legends line and Lego has an upcoming MM set featuring Wolvie and Magneto. It does really seem like the ban is being lifted somewhat in the case of X-Men.

Not AoS based? I'll take it. Here's hoping for Coulson with BFG and maybe Maria Hill. Or even a scene with Loki using updated hair.

A bit mixed. I like the character and think it's about time he got the Lego treatment (there's already a Hot Toys and Hasbro figure of him), but I've never watched AoS, as I prefer Coulson to be dead. Here's hoping the set he's in is not AoS based.

I was really pulling for Suicide Squad. I thought it could be a good entry into the "ground-level" superhero genre. I still plan to see it and from what I've seen, it appears pretty good (with the exception being the over sexualized Harley). Personally, I feel like Wonder Woman will be the hardest to pull off, since past female superheroes have not been all that successful. And there's so much girl-bashing lately, I don't want it to end being trashed before it started like Ghostbusters.

It would be great to see an assembled list of current minifigures that have blank parts to collect from. Like for example: Brown Torso - Chewbacca Brown Legs - Chewbacca Brown Arms - Chewbacca Legs and hands would probably be easiest since they're often solid colors. Heads and torsos seem like the tricky part.

You should give it a shot. It's an adult cartoon, meaning there's swearing, violence, drugs, sex (no nudity), etc. But it's primarily funny. The main character, Archer is like a Tony Stark type character but amped up even more. The episodes are short and are on Netflix and the like. Really, check out at least the pilot episode.

Right, but it's still a part of the current game, which makes it seem like Lego has one foot in and one foot out. Regardless of future sets, Gandalf is still in production in the starter. All I'm saying is that technically, LOTR is a current item in production. It's a total cheat, I know, but if Lego is not killing it and it's featured in a starring role on their only toys-to-life product, why kill the thread?
-
Before the Dimensions release I would have agreed with you, but technically with LOTR still in Dimensions, Lego has a tiny hold on LOTR. I'm not saying there's hope, but there is no reason to can it just yet.
-
Given that Bionicle got an official release stating the line is over, I have to wonder why such a release hasn't been offered for LOTR. Or at least some acknowledgement that it's done. Unless Lego has avoided doing this because of the remaining presence of LOTR in Dimensions.

Some characters have blank torsos and hands in the same color. The Chewbacca minifigure comes to mind in that under the head piece is a blank torso. As for if all parts have corresponding parts in the same color, I would venture to say no.

That's a really accurate Mole Man... just wish we had someone(s) to fight him.

System based action figure lines are the way to go for non-licensed themes. Leave the constraction model to Star Wars, but create a buildable figure line with more System elements, so beginner fans can get immediate usage out of the idea. New fans of Bionicle really had to buy into it get enough parts to be able to make any custom figures and that's asking a lot for a new line. Especially when Lego is marketed as being interchangeable.

Fantasy Flight Games makes amazing games. I currently play Imperial Assault, but used to play X-Wing and the Star Wars LCG. I recommend all of them. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Star Wars Destiny CCG. I also play Descent and the LOTR LCG, so am very familiar with FFG.
