1. Personally, as a fan of Frozen, I think it would be better to do an independent theme for Frozen only. After all Frozen is still not part of Disney Princess, and in theory LEGO should be able to introduce more sets of recent franchises.Of course, hope that we're gonna get more classic Disney sets just like you mean.
2. A new review 75902 from brickset came! ..... but this reminds me why I've been having feeling complicated about Fred. That kind of 60's hairtstyle fits in most of Disney princes' looks. So it seems abit late to introduce the hair part for Fred.
3. It's been quite a long time I haven't watched LEGO cartoons. Perhaps most of you have seen this, but I still make a small review on these. Episode seven: Andrea's Big Moment
4. True. It may still happens after years pass so that another safari story is considered a rehashing. It's sad that Friends didn't highlight adult animals in their stories. Zoo might be abit closer to the "City" definition... uh.... although we know the explorer and swamp police things . Well.... Friends did have animal series but they're not exactly the zoo. In Friends' webisodes, you may find out that the cubs are mostly pets of the girls, or they belong to the wild. Some TV stations might be a good direction. Since it's also used by Friends before, I guess we'll see another version of Heartlake High if this theme is long-lived enough. As for other versions, a City school isn't impossible, but not big enough for a subtheme. Maybe a Modular one can end the case perfectly.I'd like to see how a Ninjago Academy and its school bus turn out, if this theme is popular enough. Farm is one of the retro themes I'd like to see return. Friends's ranch theme went in a different direction (animals and fruits. mostly) so I always want to see more City/Town ones.
5. It's not like that, I'm afraid. Realm is a thing, Universe is based on a totally different canon, even if it's referred, it's more like a "paralell dimension" in our common sense.. TLM, similairly, is considered a different canon since everything happens under the basement.Just for the Universe things, I do wish to see the Universe characters exist in other LEGO themes. Especially that Paradox could fit the Ninjago canon perfectly.
6. Quite a long time before I can finally watch the whole season... about the whole Nya's love interest canon: As for the Chima canon, it makes sense that it exists in another dimension, but not sure if TLM(2) would accept this theory. Really wish to see Friends' connection next time. It's earlier than Chima and it's a modern theme, but its connection with other themes seem to be ignored in any kind of chance .
7. Since it's not like Ninjago or Friends who already announced more than two story eras in this year, we can't really expect that Elves would have the same treat. Hopefully we can see more in 2016.Just judged by the cartoon story, I believe that the single wave could still come with several full-length episodes rather than just one. These topics are usually put in Culture&Media forum.
8. Too late to notice this news. It looks like a very likeable set. A very good compensation for those who missed the Japanese building project from Ideas. Good job on the missing cartoon characters, but Claire seems like a random choice that LEGO did with those TLM sets. It feels like those elemental masters would not return for good....
9. While not sure if we could see LEGO mix minidoll with minifigure in future licensed themes, by the standard of minidoll "looking more natural", minifigrues couldn't look "fat" on the other hand. Unless we use another kind of fat body mold for larger characters. Based on what I usually see in Japanese Gashapon toys, some of them are themed but still some are totally mixed. If CMF series doesn't expand for more annual series, it's difficult to garuntee that we'll get more than two or three series so that each can have a specific subtheme.
10. I just agree with the part that, if Princess minifigure are already done in their own theme, the CMF list can be open to more characters from unused licenses instead (the "Unofficial" Disney Princess, for example ). I believe that CMF series is not the only solution to the existed minidoll line, not to mention those original themes from LEGO. I'm all for Bo Peep . Barbie's minidoll form would be nice, but MegaBloks would never allow that. Among all unused Pixar film licenses: *A Bug's Life: it feels abit hard to make insect minifigures? *Monsters' Inc: While some of the monsters may fit in human's body size, they may not always fit in regular polybags. *Finding Nemo: Most undersea creatures look better for new molds rather than human figures. *The Incredibles : The most feasible choice for Pixar human characters, but sadly we couldn't get all Parrs in just one possible series. *Ratatouille: Remy could be an additonal mold to Alfredo if LEGO allows. *WALL-E: looks like a mini robot building, not minifigure. *Up: Carl and Russel are okay, but they might fit in Idea's floating house set better. *Inside Out: Discussed. So honestly, it looks like Pixar doesn't give too many choices left?
11. Just IMO, I would recommend putting both figure types in one set in the planning phase, which unlikely happens in Superheroes/SuperGirls sets. As for now, LEGO may only do minifigure collection sets or CMF series to make up for what they've done. Junior sets also seem like a good experimental theme for licenses. I can just say that it's a series of decisions influenced by commercial factors. After all, it's not like that LEGO do try to involve minidolls with their minifigure marketing so that kids/consumers would say "some characters better stick to a specific figure type". If both certain Disney and SH characters get to have both minifigure/minidoll forms, it would be a sign that common consumers actually want to own their choices of figure types.
12. Unless all future LEGO characters can mutually have both figure versions, so far it doesn't seem like that LEGO allow FOLs to freely switch figures based on the same character. Rumored Superheroines minidolls series could be a role model if it comes true. I probably halfly agree with this. I agree with the part that the same charactes shouldn't possess two chances since many fan-favorite characters are expected to enter the CMF roster. The worst case would be that Jack Sparrow, Woody or Lone Ranger are chosen to be part of this. However, like said, the figure type issue has existed for some time and LEGO should face it by all means. CMF series may not be the best chance, that means LEGO should do it in some other regular sets (maybe Junior sets) or figure collection sets before any possible Disney CMF series. Licensed CMF series have its merits. The real issue is that how it compromises with regular series. I believe that there should be more CMF series in total of a year if things go like that. You indeed point out some clear examples. So that means we'll see Chip&Dale stand along with Donald.
13. Uh well, I think the latter said more precisely. What I meant about "minifigure-scale birds" should be like this: In other words, traditional small animal molds only have one stud hole in the bottom. If not, that means the AB may not be physically put with other minifigures. But anyway, since human don't exist in the AB world (not to say if the movie canon is the same), the flock and piggies might actually be as big as the rock monsters .
14. Not sure how a series go. Although there are tons of classic Disney/Pixar characters, they have potential of getting mutiple series, but we can't really expect non-classic characters to be in the very first series. Besides, small beings like these and Tinklebell have some real size issue. I'd say that newer films should get some regular sets, while older classic characters could have better chances to be in CMF series. Now considering LEGO's new cooperation with WB who is completely against Disney, I kinda worry that even if this comes true, it wouldn't get good treatment from LEGO.
15. Agree, it looks really Duplo-ish. Suppose that it's System base, the actual size should be pretty big. I assume that minifigures have dominated the whole LEGO fanbase, and not sure if it's proper to throw out another stand-alone size of figure just like Mickey Mouse was?
16. It's known that new parts are not available in any kind of Ideas products, but it should be something dissapointing that licesnsed Ideas products are not doing their best in minifigures, judging from what we can see in these newer versions. My dissapointment about the Ideas licesnes is that LEGO don't do larger sets based on the Ideas suggestions, so that the new figures could also be included there too. That is a much more legit option that the figure packs. It's honestly why I doubt Chase McCain's absense. WiiU and Undercover had been released for some years, so it would be predictible that part of the gamers/FOLs already obtain this game and they're ready for the next one. It seems unwise to forget to cover the existed market so easily.Too bad that this game hasn't caught my eyes. I'd actually consider to get a new console even if I don't own it.
17. It was to indicated that many LEGO heroes are absent from TLM and Dimensions is showing a similiar situation. So Johnny's possible join wouldnt make it even better. But like you said, Johnny was considered a ripped-off version of Indy and it seems like that he can dominate the adventrous side of LEGO themes by the hands of WB.
18. It's currently the best intepretation for the participant themes. But still, since it's not nominally "LEGO Movies' Dimension", the uncodified qualification is still unfair. It might make some sense all themes are licensed. Other than Chima and Ninjago, other story-based LEGO themes came with one or several annual TV specials at most. Among them, I think Friends do get lots of advertising---but in different ways other than mainstream TV or movie series. This year the eofficial channel intend to do more webisodes to show the daily life in Heartlake City. Although I expect a long-length story as well, perhaps it does correspond to the main idea of this theme. Still, popular and topselling themes are not always determined by having a TV show license or not. I think the theme participating problem already existed in TLM. While Chima is the only new addition, although many retro and major LEGO themes were referred in TLM, it actually barely mentions any of those LEGO's in-house story-based themes. Johnny Thunder, who is unable to be in this game, was the only LEGO hero made appearanced other than Lloyd from Ninjago. Therefore, TV franchise seems not to be the only factor.
19. Oops. Well both Mighty Eagle and Hal aren't considered recurring members in the cartoon series, which is why they're not in the introduction page. As said, not sure if the movie canon would keep the same flock roster. Well just check K'Nex's example, LEGO may add classic items to the blind bags. The premise is that the sets are able to afford most items and main flock, otherwise, CMF series is considered the best aid of introducing new molds.
20. Uh wait, have you guys really gone check the official site? There is currently a subseries called Angry Birds Stella which introduced more new characters last year. And beside the bird characters, the pig variations are usually considered different individuals and they may fill the spaces. So variations for one single birdy hero would be unnecssary in a single blind pack series. Excluding Terrence, a possible list of 16 would be: 1 Red 2 Bomb 3 Chuck 4 Matilda 5 Triplets 6 Bubbles 7 King Pig 8 Foreman Pig 9 Minion Pig 10 Corporal Pig 11 Stella 12 Poppy 13 Willow 14 Luca 15 Dahlia 16 Princess Gale But like other said, it's not confirmed whether the original series would be the main theme for LEGO. So far we only see Red, Chuck and Bomb in the movie promo, the others aren't really confirmed, and the movie could be considered a different canon from the official cartoon series. The other chance is that the original license is still owned by Hasbro while the movie license is exclusive to LEGO.
21. Well, it's a reasonable thought. I believe that some other characters from the currently unused themes have their supportors who would like to buy their packs and play as them in the game. I thought Elves is too new to join, but it looks like that LEGO spare their time to promote other newly-obtained licenses as their initial marketing strategy.
22. I'm against this saying, honestly. The only qualification for all characters is that they do belong to the LEGO franchise. City Police is already much wellknown as an action subtheme. Although TLM characters represent the classic City careers, but we all know they're still "different". And like you said, team TLM still can't cover some of the representive LEGO themes like bio-robots (BIONICLES) or schoolgirls (Friends). Being a big fan of Friends myself, I also think crossover media would be the only chance for certain LEGO characters to "adventure". Although the Friends girls went through jungle rescue before, these themes are basically telling a peaceful life and there is really no good chance with in their own themes. With that said, they "need" the adventures more than the playable current characters do, despite their fighting ability is still unknown. I think it just relies on the determination of LEGO themselves and the work team. CMF online is a very representive example where the team had to make all ordinary CITY characters capable in any kind of fight. But like discussed before, the decisions were probably influenced by many other factors, like the targeted consumers are mostly licesne lovers and gamers so it leads to the absense of original LEGO themes. Just wish that LEGO can prove it wrong in futur updates.
23. Just pass local ToyRus today and saw the new CITY Square set. Glad that they add two different mini buidings, unlike the last version which copied the two similar stores. It's a good combination from the previous city corner and transport station. The new LEGO clerk torso looks great. But I feel like the two retro theme real-human-size figures in a "toy store" don't look right. ElsaS's hairpiece for a young girl looks weird to me.
24. Uh, ultimately please remember it's LEGO. The main idea of these themes were meant to declare that LEGO is neutral for everyone. If you try to escape from part of it then you'll never get it. The best thing is that your child's parent shares the same interest so that you two can have the same topic.
