Should LEGO Invest in a 'Disney Infinity' Type Game?
Dorayaki replied to adotnamedstud's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Uh, I guess it would be safer to say that Warner has some problems with Disney so TLM1 didn't show Disney characters. But I don't think Disney has their own problem in this case? -
Should LEGO Invest in a 'Disney Infinity' Type Game?
Dorayaki replied to adotnamedstud's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's a something innovative but doesn't surprise me that LEGO would do this. The major problem is that this technology could only interact with the toys that are exactly designed for this game, but we couldn't use the current minifigures and bricks we have on hand, like the Fusion case last time. This would somewhat violate the natural rule of LEGO bricks. -
I didn't remember, but it's obviously against the rule "projects can't suggest new molds".

I also feel like the hint about episode 2 is weird. Suppose that the episode already covers all sets from 2015, I don't think episode 2 could do the same thing again. Is Episode 2 coming "soon" in 2016 or? About the story itself, the artwork is good enough to represent the artistic conception of Elves world, but it still lacks several things. The fps quality is obviously not good enough to keep in line with other cartoons. In the last scene, Skyra's transformation in heart isn't very natural, and the big revealing is too sudden. Two pilot episodes could allow more details between character relatinoships even if the writers don't have to add other things. I would expect the Elves world (Elvendale) to introduce more generic and minor characters that also affect the storyline like the Ninjago characters do. Much like Johhny's case, the fact that not many other known elves live around the world make characters' existence abrupt. Beside the untold places on the map, I'd like to see some Elven tribes and houses to be introduced.

I'll try to do other kinds of funnies if the film give good inspiration (I haven 't got to watch Cinderella, honestly, so I didn't notice the Bella one). About the LEGO Prince Phillip, true, maybe even later or would not happen. thanks LEGO making Disney updating annually....

Disney minidolls into minifigs
Dorayaki replied to Dorayaki's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Updated group three. -
Good, I thought it was too early to do these, but I'm gonna do now. :P How Lisa plays before a real cat mold comes in another CMF series. Seriously, had LEGO ever heard about Palace Pets??? Another conflict between LEGO licenses and nonlicenses. The cast is weird. A maid that understands transfiguration spells could finish the film in five minutes. It could be too late to wait for the other Disney Phillip coming next year. Kids can drive on road these days.... this must indicates fundamental Issue in education.

Well I think he was just making a metaphor. Tehcnically, if Disney CMF is going to happen, it may include Pixar characters like Infinity series toys do. True. It feels like LEGO and the companies keep themselves from giving all characters in blind bags so that they could benefit from large regular sets. However, I think there is a range of key/classic characters that regular sets would never cover but CMF series could. More accurately, Marvel is part of it, which made me believed that it was a very possible LEGO license.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Dorayaki replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Uhmm... my explorer shows that this thread began in April 2nd, so I'm not sure if it's a one day late or not. Mickey has been a weird character in LEGO license. He was an independent figure mold in early 2000s and then was printed bricks in previous years. I always think Mickey could be at least a Duplo figure along with a Duplo Clubhouse, considering other Disneychannel Junior sets have appeared in Duplo range, but weirdly it doesn't happen. I would definitely support Disney characters to get a CMF series.- 4,155 replies

Hasbros' nightmare..... It's an interesting topic, I agree. So far most of the other LEGO figures resulted in failures and minidolls are the only ones getting better current;y, so LEGO wouldn't like to try another non-buildable toys that easily.Action figures like Chima wouldn't likely happen in Elves, too. Unless LEGO is able to introduce some doll figure parts that could also joint with other action figure parts. The other way is too make cooperations with other toy companies, but considering that LEGO rejected Hasbro before, that option isn't available too. Similiarly, I'd like to see some original LEGO characters get minidoll versions so we could see their official human forms. I've had enough with those fanarts. :P

Sorry, I didn't even notice it's fooling but just rather think it's okay to promote Disney themes in this forum.....

Being a third party property of DisneyTM wouldn't necessarily help getting into LEGO. And overall, due to all those muppet heads, a Muppet theme need the same cost as Simpsons, but not sure if it's strong enough to appeal the same market. I would love to get them, though.

The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
Dorayaki replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Both are excellent works! Although I'm not sure these are related to this topic? If they are, yeah, we don't really see minidolls sail back to other existed LEGO themes where certain characters fit in minidoll form. -
Sorry for late reply. Truly great review and photos, very useful. I kinda feel like the proportion of the ice cream shop and the tower is not good. The precessedor was 5770 and the warehouse looked more like a sidekick. Overall, as long as we couldn't sacrifice the ice cream shop, the tower part is relatively weak. And BTW, in the webisode animation, the inner saide of the light house should be helical stairs and stone walls. Just like 5770, the stairs is represented by simple steps due to physical restrictions, though.

I'm not sure James Bond is appealing to kids. It's not about violence and flirting nature, but I assume that LEGO's original Agent themes work better than a pure and realistic spy theme. Indiana Jones can be simplified as a pure adventure theme and Jurassic Park relates to simply hunting dinos, which both cater to the general kids' market without highlighting the bloody violence. Nintendo currently cooperates with K'Nex which has a different building toy system, so unless they end like COBI's Scooby, that wouldn't happen in LEGO.

Cute! Unfortunately the minidolls expressions aren't versitle enough to cater to the fantasy personalities. The other flaw of minifigure haipieces is that the droppings only suit on miniigures' shoulders but not minidolls, so this leaves weird space between hair and shoulders. I like the adventurer the most. Olivia's father's face could look good on an Indiana Jones parody or a male Westerner.

2016 action theme?
Dorayaki replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It does make a sense that it's odd to ask the heroes to do the whole history once again. But what about considering making it reboot? Though that relatively dissapoints some of the AFOLs. Time Cruisers is the same thing. I don't think current kids could notice any of the old story even if it could appeal them. I could see that Adventurers could go into other areas that we didn't see before so that it can still continue the previous storyline. -
2016 action theme?
Dorayaki replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm sorta not sure about changing the story in a similiar theme concept. Unless a new story does help making the theme more appealing and also endow the new figures with more accurate parts, like Agent→UA's case, I don't think that's necessary. As for me, it'd be fine to see a recurring adventurer group with exclusive characters in every subtheme. Ninjago characters have almost different names in Chinces area, though English names are mostly the same in other countries. I think only the future direction would help unifying those regional names in order to market to a new generation. -
2016 action theme?
Dorayaki replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Knights Kingdom obviously had some action theme traits. I always want to see a more fantasy-like version and deep story for the Castle theme. Recent Castle and Pirate rivivals mostly result in rehashing classics. Expect to see a written plot with two or three exclusive minifigures in any future alterations. -
Should LEGO Invest in a 'Disney Infinity' Type Game?
Dorayaki replied to adotnamedstud's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well CMF is also a theme of LEGO so if there is a rivival or crossover game, hope that all the elements could be herited. -
Great alterations with the few Elves sets so far. Wish that I could get these sets anytime sooner.
-
Agree. Honestly, the previous ones were not quite successful. I just give the answer below. It's about how Annie Potts got whacked by LEGO twice. First time is not getting a figure in Toy Story theme, later her other role in Ghostbusters was relatively rejected along with the HQ office from LEGO Ideas. Anyway, the following ones might be less obscure. She's scared, in a different way. Has Jodi Benson been affected by Mattel and Disney's break-off? How LEGO cast a bad light on 9-year-old kids.... although Bart's one has been officially legal after the real deal. Another used pun by Oky. LEGO's inaccurate phials have driven Galadriel crazy. You don't have to do anything, really.

GoH Collectible Minifigs Series voting time!
Dorayaki replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome jobs! Even hard to choose three. Just make random choices. 3. 1 point 13. 1 point 28. 1 point -
Well, as mentioned, normal human characters could lead to pure flesh minifigure army in a wrong direction. Unless any of them could bring an exclusive dino hunting weapon. First, wrong classification. Though it's an appealing list, large action figure and mascot molds don't fit in this topic. This idea better accompanies with regular sets. The Up house could be a good Ideas project, though the balloons have technical problems

No much spoiler, accroding to the reviews, the alterations are minor. To me, A Twist in Time was a better addition because it added many things that the original story lacked. It looks like that the real action version wouldn't consider to keep in line with the direct-to-video seqeuel. As mentinoed, to me the major problem is that the versitility of minidolls is still unseen so far. In Dr.Facilier's example, a regular male minidoll head couldn't show his clumsiness, and he must need an exclusive mold like Simpsons do. However, as long as villains are not the stars of this theme, LEGO may not choose to make the head molds just due to commercial reasons. In other action or historical licensed themes, fans would expect to see more accurate molds for even villains, not just the heroiends. Rare examples like Gothel, who might just need a normal head with Andrea's hairpiece.
