A couple of months ago i bought on amazon the 42030 for 174 €, then decided to buy a second one for the b-model and found a guy in germany was selling it without PF for 90 € and i bought it. Thinking later maybe i haven't done a big deal considered i should pay about 100 € for the pf parts but for now i consider the idea to build the model without motors, so all manual, then we'll see. Anyway it's a great model with lot of useful parts and of course all the PF elements ;) Have a good one

Even if " Looks like it is possible to lower the crane slowly by carefully controlling the valve." (As blakbird noticed) do you think is possible to replace the cylinder with an LA, maybe with the bed one so we put the cylinder in the bed? But i think that with all the tubes at the base of the crane....would be a hard try...

Blackbird, i have the same problem with the 8455....that has even the pneumatic outriggers :D Ayway, i don't mind if i make a mistake or 2, it's a good reason to re start again :D :D

Thanks for your pic, wasn't what i wanted but for my mistake, try to write it in a better way :D I want a full truck side pic with the wheels of the 1st and 2nd axel fixed reserve, so they are like in the front axel of the 9397 for example, with the rim on the outside.... Thanks again and sorry for my bad english.

Is it possibile to see a side pic of the truck with the wheels of the first 2 axels mounted on the other side? Thanks, appreciated ;)

Great review, excellent pics and video! I like the model a lot BUT what about these outriggers??? manual?? why haven't they used the 42009 system? It's the same problem, for me, of the 8258, the make a perfect model but then "ruin" it with outriggers that aren't completly motorized (as 42009). And then why they are out of truck shape?? usually outriggers disappear inside and stay in line with the truck shape..... Despite that small thing, it's a must buy model!

Creating empty, useless topics
Foggy replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I gree with most you wrote about topics "i'm gonna bild this..that.." but i hate even topics about"what set should i get between...or you suggest..." because i think some people it too lazy to use the SEARCH buttom or just to see some pages of this forum where maybe they could find an already existing topic... I was attending a photography web group where there was the same problem, a lot of topics with almost the same subject about lenses comparison or body cameras... and was a s#@% because the result was that there were a lot of pages with same topics and obviously same answers..... Same here...can't decide between 8110 and 8043..42009 and 42030..42000 and 42039 or others like that... Just read some pages and you'll get the answers without open a new topic, PLEASE. Appreciated -

Amazing copter! Like it so much, great details and amazing shape as the real one. Does the tail stands on its own or it's too heavy? Big compliments again!! -

As already said, AMAZING CREATION AND GREAT LOOKING TRUCK. Love it so much! Should be nice to see it beside 42030 just to have and idea about its dimensions. I don't mind too about 3rd party tires as far as they look good in the model. Big big compliments again, hat off man! -

Great review! I still don't know if buy it or not.. The main thing missing is in my opinion the steering!!!! As a technic guy I miss it.. Despite that the price is very very high considering parts used for the set... Don't know if I wanna spend 200euro on this set or save them for the future technic sets as the Mercedes truck comin' out in August.

Purchase advice - 8043 and 8110
Foggy replied to rynoster's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Off topic: should be interesting to see all these 8285s :D :D Back to topic: it depends if you collect sets or if you need them for parts.... anyway I suggest to get both, doesn't mind when but get them. I just wanna point out that the 8043 b-model is simply amazing, especially 4 playability ;) infact I got 2x8043 to have both models on display. The fact that both a&b models of the 8043 are amazing is a good point against 8110 that has a very good a model but not a b one. -
