Point taken. I'm pretty sure Saber's were smaller than modern-day big cats, anyway (which would make Laval being smaller than Fangar another issue). Still, is that a Columbian mammoth or a woolly one?

Anyone hoping that Ninjago's Movie will be using A-W-E-S-O-M-E as it's main music? It'd be kind of amusing, all things considered. Also, I think the Overlord's "helmet" is supposed to be part of his head.
-
Why are we all assuming mammoths are large? The largest mammoth species was the size of a liger, with the wooly mammoth being the same size as a modern elephant.

Beautiful. It's visually cohesive, stuffed with NPU's (the use of the brain is jaw-dropping) and for some reason actually looks scary.

Wow. That Beast just screams "Balrog", "!!MAGMA!!" and "MUAHAHAHAHA!". The idea for the claws is pretty creative, and the back is so intricate and visually interesting I can't decifer it at all . Great work!

Isn't the dollar supposed to be worth less than the euro? So shouldn't the price in Europe be lower instead of higher? It makes no sense. I'll probably end up purchasing my copies of the set as late as possible (preferably during a double VIP point event), so as to get it priced-down. EDIT: The boxart appears to be unfinalized (note the completely translucent cocoons), so there's still hope. EDIT2: Surge&Rocka is 30, so these are definitely the wrong prices.

What's so bad about it? It's a different design than is normal, using lots of bone pieces, it is relatively well-armored and it includes the most minifigs (Rocka, Surge + Green, Orange Jumper) of any HF set with the exception of the much more expensive Queen, who, incidentally seems rather small when compared to this set.

Really, while all of this belongs in the show/story topic, the only dramatic scene for Zane that I can imagine LEGO doing would be him going into the main computer database to activate the self-destruct. Cue the heroic sacrifice.

Spinlyn's Cavern and other exclusives are already available in the Netherlands, although they're ironically enough missing from the equivalent of ToysRUs. EDIT: BZPower's pictures show that we're getting a new flame piece that can fit into a sword, so that's nice. Sorry I couldn't resize the picture.

That would be more of a reassurance if it weren't for the fact that several Bionicle preliminary pieces (such as Reidak's mask) were apparently more complicated than the finalized ones. Still, it would be a relief.
-
Really, I still prefer solid ones, but the toyfairs where the models are usually more finalized have translucent ones, so I doubt we're getting the more show-like solid ones in the actual sets.

(Invasion From Below MOC) Stormer Scout Machine
DraikNova replied to Sir Brickalot's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Great little mech-MOC. I love how compact and bulky it looks, even though that doesn't really fit with the idea of a scout, and the sword is a bit akward (maybe you should try removing the minifig spear?). -
Yay! Crystal Beast's printing is practically zero! I'm also warming up to the more translucent version of the cocoons, which look kind of ominous. Surge's helmet looks even worse though, especially if you look at Tunneler Beast.

Glorb Corp. Glorb Corp & snot snakes. Just great. And it fits with the current show perfectly.

Using the Outland and reanimated creatures for Legend Beasts could work really well. The spider and scorpion sets would need to be marketed at a higher pricepoint, though, as the legs would require a lot of joints.
-
That is amazing. I love the windshield combo, and those little detail colors make it look quite functional. What are those pieces you used for the rotors?

Rattler Copter vs Fangpyre Wrecking Ball
DraikNova replied to Village80's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I would suggest some sort of ridiculous combiner. Maybe you could use the cockpit of the Rattlecopter and use the original cockpit's parts to improve the wrecking ball portion? -
The Hurricane Heistcopter is a work of art. Even the mech form looks sleek rather than like a waste of parts as is the norm for this sort of thing. Someone took the 1x1 tr. red tube on the right blaster though . Nice use of the SW missiles too, so it's looking more and more appealing. On the other hand there is the Agents HQ. Nice and with some great details, but it isn't coherent and as a whole it just looks...messy, to say the least. The mech is kinda cute though, albeit a bit akward-looking. The other sets are just general "meh"-s. The little Agent buggy and the Tremor Tracks Tank are just uninteresting. The Toxic Meltdown is balancing on the buy/do not buy for me. Nice to see that there's one more villain in the set.

What are the Ninjago snake things supposed to be on the green Mixels? They don't look like vines, so...what are they?
-
That was the first thing I pointed out once we got the really early prelims . Too many specialized pieces in this wave for my taste.
-
That use of the basketball hoop is really great, but it's not enough to convince me to get the set. The Battle for Ninjago City still seems relatively drab, so there's some more money saved there .
-
My eyes are being burned out. Great work here! The seats as feet is pretty creative a parts usage.
-
The cocoons seem strangely translucent, especially the green ones. Boy do I hope that's just a fault of the lighting . Otherwise, not much new stuff to see.

Jaw Beast and Stormer's Crowd Control Machine
DraikNova replied to WARHEAD's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The Beast may not resemble the comic one as much as intended, but it looks expletively scary, with that contrast between the blocky body and the near-skeletal tail and limbs. The mech isn't too impressive, but the riot shield is a nice touch. Overall, it looks like it would be far more capable in a fight than it's size would suggest. -
So, turns out the Netherlands is getting HF in march. That's right, the US was supposed to be the only place where the release was going to be delayed and it's still getting the sets earlier than the Netherlands. I can go to Germany, sure, but it still makes no sense (and I think we need an "UNIKITTY SMASH" emoticon, incidentally). Oh well, time to get to work on my Claw Beast MOC. This time, no therizinosaurs shall be present to upstage Deinocheirus Mirificus.
