Thanks Aanchir! Guess I'll probably be picking up the Wolf Legend Beast (which I was thinking about anyway, even though I used to think that, in terms of joints/euro, it was more expensive) and Zorch! Wait, aren't the Legend Beasts ten bucks apiece?

I like it. Good color layering, a fitting aesthetic, but the grey piece holding the torso together would look better in a different color (if you aren't, as I suspect, building exclusively in available colors) and the attempt to fill the arms does not look too good, seeing as it could be flipped around, covering the holes in the "filler" piece. I'd recommend turning one of the blades on the weapon around, to allow it to be "spun", as it were. While I'm by no means an expert, it looks like it would be easier to fight that way. On the other hand, it may be easier for him to first stab an enemy in front of him, before moving it backwards to deal with the one behind him, in it's current configuration.

Either one of the remaining Beasts would be a good one, but if you want something really different, both Stormer and Furno's Mechs could be useful. Stormer's container is a more neutral color, and may be easier for you to use in a MOC, but Furno has more bone pieces. Then again, Stormer has two gunmetal Savage Planet paws. Evo's Walker is an excellent set, though, and has both a great deal of rare bone pieces, more so than either, plus a lot of Jumpers. The build is very unique and quite a good one, to the degree that it is my current favorite. I've already rebuilt it several times over, just from it's own pieces.

While Holla is just plain ridiculous (but probably more realistic , considering what the Mixels go through to become Mixes, Murps or Maxes), Walrunt looks great. I love the "mutant wild boar/hog/warthog" look. The claws are a bit lacking, but probably the best you can do without making it look less ridiculous. Fuzzpatch is more in line with the official Murp aesthetic, and looks amazingly silly. The best of all is Fishy Dave, with his goofy-eyed face and gaping maw. The spines on his back add extra character to this already great MOC and, together with the tail, puts me in the mind of a kaiju. The suction cup hands are kind of nice, but if you have any pieces left over, I'd change the fire hand into something more fitting.

I used to like Mega Blocks quite a bit. Their dragon series was a pretty nice, albeit very simplistic, product, with rather good quality. I stopped buying any sets at all about 4 years ago. The point at which the quality started to decrease was, ironically, around the time Bionicle started getting fragile parts. It's rather ridiculous that the quality would decrease as much and as suddenly as it did. Really, I am rather excited if this forces LEGO to up their ante as much as possible. Sure, most LEGO sets are great, but in every line, there appears to be one set where the designers just weren't thinking too clearly. And the prices are sometimes rather ridiculous, although here, at least, most of that appears to be caused by some strange tariff.

So far, the best MAX I've seen is a MAX-MAX, built by LEGOJang. Pretty comical looking for a giant spider, and it has convinced me to pick some of these up. Which set (and, if there's a tie, which one with balljoint eyeballs?) has the greatest amount of the new joints?

I just cashed in my free box of parts, and I got a variety of general bricks and tiles. Some pink bricks, some white, lime and grey bricks (it's amazing how few I seem to have), a few hinge pieces, quite a few pink and purple tiles and a number of plates, along with a number of tr. clear windows. I had spent about half an hour arranging the pieces by that point, and I had only filled one third of the box, so I decided to just throw every interesting piece I saw into it by that point, including a handful or two of each group of translucent pieces, some more tiles and a lot of lever pieces. Oh, and about ten jumper plates. Also, I'd be very excited if my nearest LEGO store added Mixel parts to the wall (although I don't understand how understanding the workings of HF parts is difficult. It's basically just snapping parts on to a frame, after all). I'd fill a whole box full of joint pieces alone, and probably a whole other one with printed eyeballs. It'd be like the time I decided I didn't have enough tr. purple and filled the cup with 400+ (I counted once, and have since forgotten the precise number) cones. Does anyone know whether we're allowed to reuse the holiday boxes?

Evo XL Machine or, using the Brick's and Pieces service, 6 to 8 of every purple HF shell (there are 4 types) plus 30 or so azure bones for 30 to 40 euros?

I generally cast the "Good Guys" of themes as the enemies, with the valiant Giant Bugs/Rock Monsters/Generic Humongous Robots racing to stop them (often using both groups' canon goals). The only classic "villain" is my sigfig, which is by virtue of having goggles, a cape, and the LEGO representation of my "flamethrower that works underwater" concept. However, most of the time, the "worlds" inhabited by each group of creations is separate, until a one-time crossover connects some of them, kind of like LEGO's "canon". LEGO bricks are a good metaphor for this model of story, with each world's story interlocking and seperating from others as time goes on. Important characters: The Enkara Swarm (aka the Galaxy Squad bugs), the Ninja, weird ex-space miner guy with a laser axe, HF's characters and the Technotians (utopian society of mad science. Probably one of the view utopias filled with giant mechanical scorpions, though). Eldritch Abominations of various kinds also tend to pop up from time to time.

The waist section is what stands out, but like Aanchir said, it's hard to see much more without bigger pictures.

Wow, you're pretty lucky then. Finding a Roborider is a pretty rare occurrence, although the presence of flea markets in the US probably helps.

I like it. It's like a robot samurai, only without a sword. Which, seeing as unintentionally drawing one's weapon was a major cause of fatalities among samurai, is probably for the best. While normally I would agree with 3rdeye about the plate (as in most MOCs it looks quite silly), it works here. It's not out of place, it's placed far enough up (and the surrounding area is armored as well, which helps a bit) and it's color contrasts just enough with the other armor.

Lovely work. It looks kind of scary, actually. Much more so than the minifig . Agreed; I've already found as situation where an "UNIKITTY SMASH" emoticon would be appopriate.

These are kind of funny. I can't figure out why, but I love it.

Great work. I think the part you may be looking for for the rear is one of those construction mixer parts, but not having studied the model, I can't say so for sure.

Hero Factory Invasion from Below Song Remix

Quite nice. It sounds very dramatic, to tell you the truth. Incidentally, do you know where I could find the rest of the music from IfB, including that found in the trailer? -
Also reasons to get it: the second-shortest (or third-shortest if you count the Stormer connector) bone piece in grey, lots of the new claws, the pair of blank jaws and the large amount of azure bones.

3rdeye: Are you saying that you already have Jaw Beast? If so, as a set I'd have to recommend Splitter or Flyer Beast, but if you want a greater variety of parts (rather than more of the same ones, which is usually just as useful), I'd agree with you on getting Furno's mech. If you can afford it, try to go for the XL Machine, as it seems like a far more enjoyable set, with better pieces for MOCcing, such as a large amount of the Drilldozer connector.
-
Furno's Jet Machine, Evo's Walker and Stormer's Freeze Machine, along with Furno XL, who was priced down to 10 euros from the original 20.
-
Even more fun: buying several copies of the same set. Then try to make something that looks like the same character. It's a near-impossible task if you're not an experienced MOCcer, and it can be a fun challenge no matter if you are one.

I think Crystal Beast and Bulk's Drill Machine are both $15 sets, so you have a choice to make there. I'd go for Crystal Beast if I were you. More translucent pieces, and with the Drill Machine about one third of what you're paying for are Technic parts rather than HF stuff.

I'm going to address these things in order: First of all, about the 360o armor, the suggestion I made would allow this without having to make all-new bone pieces. However, another way of solving this issue would be to make a bone part like this: 0-0-(, where the two central ball joints are flattened off where they touch, allowing armor or bones to be 0 connected from either vertical orientation, but not horizontally. About the textures, what I meant is that the shells are as close to the bones as possible, and to add texture they'd need to be thicker, which might look bad. Generic scale printing, on the other hand, allows you to make much more detailed and realistic scales without LEGO needing to spend the money for a new mold. Feathers are complicated enough to warrant their own piece though, I think. Your last point is a valid issue, but to get that fixed would require a pieces like these: 0-00-0, )-0-0-0, 0-0-0-0 or, and this is what would solve most of the problems I've had during building, )-{}-(, where {} is a sort of depression in the piece that can fit a ball joint.
