  1. I'm getting Tunneler Beast because I like the set. The reason I'm buying three of him is that I want the cocoon to be complete. Also, I need lots of both small torsos and the Waspix connector. The red sockets, which I've never actually been capable of incorporating into a MOC well anyway (with the exception of this set, I generally dislike combining black and red), are just a bonus.
  2. I tried using orange in place of tr. orange on Splitter Beast. It looks horrible; the translucence is necessary to balance out the vibrant hues of the rest of its colorscheme. Anyway, I am highly amused by how unimpressed people seem to be about the summer wave. So far, it seems like one of the best waves of HF to me, and quite possibly the best. As such, my current plans are to buy one each of the mechs, along with the following assortment of the Beasts (including the ones that I've already bought): 9x Jaw Beast 3x Flyer Beast 2x Splitter Beast 3x Tunneler Beast (so that I have a full cocoon) 6x Crystal Beast* 4x Queen Beast As you can probably tell, I'm spending all of my LEGO budget on Hero Factory this year. *I may change my decision about this one, considering the amount of tr. pieces available from the Chima sets. I will be getting at least three, as I need their heads for a MOC.
  3. I just saw some pictures of the summer sets in this LEGO magazine I get, and I've got to say that they look pretty great. Damn my budget.
  4. Wow. This is beautiful. It may look less like a zombie-esque creature and more like an ice sculpture, but just...wow. It's elegant, bulky and monstrously awesome. Out of curiosity, which sets did you acquire to add the claws to the feet?
  5. Eergh. That space miner was not at all what I was expecting. The use of the raygun for a drill makes it look rather silly, and while I'm happy with the new helmet with flashlight attachment and the non-printed space armor, the fig is not one really that interesting to me. The dino tracker seems rather nonsensical to me, if that actually is the dino tracker. How exactly are a bow and a syringe "tracking tools"? If you're going to track a dinosaur, you might as well use a (tranquilizer) gun. The dino aspect of it is also a bit of a mystery, as the only clue to that is the name. This fig is a big letdown for me. I know it's a false hope, considering that the MMO's pictures show them as they are now, but I really hope these figs are not the finalized ones, the dino one in particular.
  6. Wow, with one or two exceptions, those combiners are awesome. Even the ugly-looking Panthar combiner has a NPU of those wing pieces. However, Mungus is the one that stands out for me. It's exactly what the set should have been designed as. It conveys the proper bulky aesthetic an anthropomorphic mammoth should possess, and it has an oddly charming use of asymmetric armor. The left shoulder's armor actually looks like it's made out of hides. The three combiners that I really don't like are Fluminox's, Cragger's and Panthar's. Even Laval looks pretty awesome, what with the use of the tr. bones for the tail, the more balanced-looking colorscheme and the improved version of Fluminox's weapons. Also, the blades look better as wings than as weapons. Whilst Vardy's wings are only a minor improvement on the set version, I like how the combiner makes him look more predatory (I'm surprised how much it reminds me of dromeosaurids in that manner). And, even though the bulkiness and long tail don't really fit with big cats (technically also a valid concern with Laval's combiner), Sir Fangar looks pretty awesome. Really, if you would remove the bowls/whatever they are from the staff, it would be perfect. EDIT: Actually, on second thought, Fluminox looks kind of nice too. The extended feet are still ugly as can be, though.
  7. Don't the sets usually come out about a month or so earlier in Germany than in the USA?
  8. I would just like the tv show to be a little more complicated, rather than having more different sources. I think having three episodes would be ideal for this: two episodes to flesh out the plot, with one to feature the climax (which is where the summer sets would come into play, no pun intended). Really, I like the way this year's sets are structured: the release pattern fits with the story, which is similarly divided into two sub-arcs.
  9. Yay! Bzpower has reviews for Chi Cragger and Chi Laval! I can't wait to pick these up when I make my next visit to the nearest LEGO store, especially now I'm using tr. orange more.
  10. Wow. The Space Miner does indeed sound like a Rock Raider-esque character. I hope it features a recolored version of Psyclone's helmet or something similar. The Dino Tracker would be awesome no matter whether it is supposed to be a paleontologist or more of a Jurassic Park-type thing. If the latter, I hope for a new version of the T-Rex baby, or perhaps a dino egg. Either of these characters could be the fifth female minifig of the series. Of the rest, the Battle Goddess, the Wizard and the Genie Girl (due to the possibly purple pieces) sound the most interesting to me.
  11. I love the semi-robotic and kind of skeletal look it has, and that bit with the zamor really makes this MOC stand out. I would recommend a different head, though, as its almost featureless nature contrasts and clashes heavily with the sharp lines of the torso.
  12. Sorry, I made a mistake. Turns out the 8-legged one really is the female of the pair. I would recommend using some tr. orange 3-length shells to make the egg pouch, though. Also, the head (which is slightly larger and more square at the front than it is in your current version) opens normally, with two large black teeth in the front corners of it's upper jaw (and a bunch of small ones in between and behind them), with the lower jaw possessing the same configuration (although the movie version can move the teeth slightly, which is what made me believe it to have three head segments in the first place). Also, I would remove the quaza spikes from the arms and merely make the bone structure slightly longer there, perhaps using a 3-length bone piece, using the 3-length armor as the tip. Also, it's legs are remarkably bulky, and the IfB small Beast foot design would work well to simulate it's almost elephantine feet. You absolutely nailed the look of the smaller arms, though, and the shape of the torso is accurate.
  13. Yeah, I meant that the head consists out of three sections instead of the regular two (so that there are two jaw segments). I'm not entirely sure, but I'm going to see the movie tonight, so I'll check for you.
  14. Excellent work. However, I like how you incorporated the bioluminescent aspects, but I'm pretty sure the movie version has a splitting head (hard to implement and definitely a trait that should only be implemented if you know you can make it look good). Also, I'd recommend the Godzilla wikia for pictures.
  15. So, as it seems that the other themes are being released, when do you think the HF sets will be released? I've seen up to a month of delay here in the Netherlands, but usually Germany has new sets before all other countries, and I have time next weekend to go there, so...should I go there and try to get Crystal Beast and the Combat Machine, or does it seem unlikely to you that they will be available?
  16. I suspect that "frozen drool" is actually one of the signs of a really bad cold. At any rate, I like the Flexors's (both the MAX and the individual sets) best, with the Frosticon's MAX coming in second. I also like the large amount of azure pieces included in the Frosticons.
  17. Wow. That piece is probably one of the most useful I've seen. I think I may actually pick up one of these, as the new (I think. I haven't actually seen what the different parts in the original version look like) Speedor design is far more useful to me than the old one.
  18. Heh heh heh . This will probably be the first time I'm getting these sets before most of you guys; most of this sort of releases nevertheless seem to leak into the US after a while, after all.
  19. I like it. The only thing that bothers me about it is how it appears to have duck heads as hands.
  20. I hope we will get at least one combiner model for all of the beasts, as that would allow the Evo Mini-mech to be included to flesh out the Flyer Beast component of the combiner. I do think a combiner for the summer beasts could look quite nice, if pulled off properly. I do hope it isn't just a larger version of the Queen Beast, even though using Crystal Beast's parts to make larger wings would be an obvious choice.
  21. Really? To me, the various simple yet colorful weapons of the first wave are far more useful than these incredibly ornate weapons. PS: Your text wasn't colored properly, Shakar.
  22. That Speedorz shell looks like a baby chicken .
  23. Funny that the torso is one piece, rather than a shell with an add-on. I guess I finally have a use for those gunmetal zamors. I really love those new claw pieces. Too bad none of the action figures include it in tr. light blue. I really dislike that new blade piece, though.
  24. EDIT: Double post, sorry.
  25. EDIT: Aanchir posted the bags too.
