  1. Funny. I hate the new torso, yet I think it looks great on Scorpio for some reason. I think it's because I'm a sucker for tr. neon green. And the function doesn't really bother me that much. The fact that it also uses a double-ballcup If there was any set that I was going to buy, it would be that one. However, about half the set is technic, so I'm probably going to just order most of the parts from Bricks and Pieces, like I was planning to do with the entire wave anyway.
  2. Basher looks uglier than I thought, and that's saying something. The new bone pieces are completely useless, from the look of it, lacking even a hole for a stud and having ridiculously thin edges. Bones are usually a lot thicker than that. And the torso is awful. Ekimu looks worse if anything, but that's probably just the lighting.
  3. I am extremely jealous of your building skills (and parts supply). You managed to flawlessly integrate every set in the lineup.
  4. I didn't even notice that there was one with a $35 pricetag. I hope that it's something that really makes use of the higher pricetag to do something unique. Perhaps a Jabba set. The idea of a Sarlacc ultrabuild/system hybrid next year is too appealing.
  5. Well, it seems to have been changed to double rear cannons, using the new spring-loaded bricks, mounted on a rather nice-looking turntable system.
  6. Not really. The people who liked the prelims like the sets now, and the people who disliked the sets still do. I think it's the new bone type. It's really a love it or loath it sort of thing.
  7. Why do people like capes so much? I haven't been able to find a single use for them, and I have three or four of them lying around.
  8. I find it hilarious when people's opinion does a 180. This year, that hasn't been happening much.
  9. The fact that the suit is a brownish red doesn't help with the identification either. Although, all of the other figures with that mask piece have their elemental colors as the "visor". So it could be the rumored Master of Water. Or Nya chose a blue visor because blue is her favorite color. Or any of a dozen possibilities, really.
  10. Huh, the blades of the Morro Mech are Spring Green. EDIT: And the Morro Dragon has 1*4 tiles in tr. neon green! I thought I'd missed my chance to get those when I didn't find the Galaxy Squad bug polybag.
  11. I would suggest getting the Ultra Copter and ordering the shark, but not off of Bricklink, but from LEGO's Bricks and Pieces service. It's much cheaper and allows you to get other pieces you want (such as the Agent's armor and Antimatter). It's down at the moment though. The Ultra Copter is a much more substantial set, to the point where, compared to the Portal Hideout, it is disproportional to the price difference.
  12. Even I look at instructions, if only because some of the set designs don't make any sense. It's kind of amusing that Huw managed to fail that badly, though. Best schadenfreude I've had all year.
  13. People are going to go nuts for capes again, aren't they? Seriously though, I hope that they come up with a creative way to build light sabers, or a good mold. If this isn't just a hoax.
  14. Eegh, the Morro Mech is an absolute mess. Brown and dark blue can work, but not with tr. neon green, bley and black. Too bad that, as far as changes go, color schemes are unlikely. The weird plant-thing-on-a-staff being held by the driver intrigues me though. And the blades appear to be a more opaque tr. neon green, as opposed to tr. apple green. The Morro Dragon, however, seems more cohesive in this video. It may just be that Morro's dark green pushed the look over the edge in pictures, but I love the way it looks now. And the mixel joints in the tail do wonders for articulation. The brickbuilt nature of the Airjitzu holders was unexpected, but welcome, yet the fact that the weapons serve no purpose is kind of annoying. I doubt I'll get any of them. The Ronin R.E.X. seems slightly less ugly, but only slightly. The DB 2.0 still looks wonderful. All the functions are great too. And the Mini-Morro dragons are quite appealing as well. Sensei Wu's Dragon seems to pull of a feline aesthetic quite well. The blue teapot is the most beautiful piece I've ever seen. And the use of modified plates as eyes works wonderfully. Definitely picking this one up now. This is definitely going to be an expensive year for me, Ninjago-wise.
  15. Or, as the brown color indicates, Dareth. I'm more interested in that new blended semitranslucent sword piece off on the side though .
  16. My personal experience of whether children can or cannot distinguish between parts in the same color by sight may not be representative, but even those who cannot would only make a mistake half the time anyway. Considering that you can also feel the difference between pieces (as long as you don't have inch-thick calluses on your fingers), I don't see why aesthetics would have to be sacrificed for such a minor issue.
  17. That shell looks black to me. Still a chance of spring green bone pieces though. And am I the only person who doesn't dislike the exposed balljoints on the Skull Slicer? They look like an exponentially better way to make the set look skeletal than the new bone pieces, and the translucence makes the balljoints kind of indistinct anyway. EDIT: Looking at the close-up of the brickbuilt version makes the bone pieces look lime green compared to the spring green barb on it's leg.
  18. What mostly annoys me about the color-coding of the bone pieces is the assumption that kids are stupid, too stupid to distinguish between two different parts simply by looking at them.
  19. I still don't like the unarmored look of these. Now it seems even Skull Warrior, which seemed to be the most armored of the bunch, has the horribly empty-looking-upper-leg-syndrome that Skull Grinder suffers from. I might get Ekimu VS Skull Grinder for Ekimu (Skull Grinder seems gappy, but relatively reasonalbe), but I'm passing on the rest of the sets. I will definitely order those tr. neon green and tr. apple green bone pieces though.
  20. I'm pretty sure the population of the MU is lower than forty billion, though (see my earlier post). Even if every toa used a Nova blast, HF would win by sheer numbers.
  21. It's because they earn money from the advertisements. That's why they "waste" money on it. The net profits are greater than the expenses.
  22. Not just that, we have a cubit! Look at the Glorp Corp guy's mouth.
  23. Heh, you have the same quote in your sig, Gallifrey. How long has that been there?
  24. The Morro Dragon seems a lot less impressive now, with the use of the light green used in Bionicle's skull spiders rather than the lime it appeared to use on the prelims . It really makes the set color scheme look too chaotic: black, tr. neon green, dark blue and light green all at once is just too much. It shouldn't be, but it is. The hints of brown, grey and red don't help either. Morro (or Lloyd, perhaps) does use that mysterious mask we saw from Tabao, funnily enough. I might get it as a parts pack, though. All would be forgiven though, if the light green was GitD. In the dark, no one can see your detail colors . EDIT: Why is Kai wearing a Maersk blue headgear-thing in the Destiny's Bounty 2.0? EDIT2: Purple Sensei Wu hat confirmed!
  25. Any chance the tr. Hau offer will be available in the Netherlands? Probably not, but I doubt I'll have time to go to Germany during that time.
