Really nice! May I ask what you are using for the drummer's head?

He tried to destroy Bara Magna with a gravitational wave shortly before being mooned. EDIT: Also, his thoughts after taking over the MU were pretty much literally "Hey, now I don't need any subtlety anymore. I'll just crush everyone."

Omnipresent villains are easy to deal with. Any seizure-inducing event anywhere would affect them. Seriously, if you're everywhere, you can be set on fire everywhere. And anyway, Makuta is still only affecting a small island in G2. The best he ever managed in G1 was two planets, after which his ability to plan degraded and he started to think that he could just easily defeat anything. Most of Hero Factory's villains at least had realistic plans to take over multiple planets and usually got very close (Witch Doctor got a lot closer to destroying a planet than Makuta did, and did we ever figure out what happened to Talos 5, where Fire Lord came from? I think he probably sucked it absolutely dry of all useful things, turning it into a barren wasteland at the very least), even if their execution tended to be pretty pathetic. Seriously, why make giant spiderlike things with exposed brains when you can make Cordiceps-like fungi that could spread without you needing to make more and which can't be removed as easily?

So her plume is identical to her ponytail? Because I could swear that it has exactly the same color and shape.

No, the reason why they mix various cool things is because it's awesome, And anyway, if you're a society that can afford miniature robots to do things for you, you can afford giving your entire kingdom a medieval aesthetic simply because you like medieval concepts.

Considering the shorts and that big banner show it as her hair, I'm going to assume it's attached normally.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DraikNova replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Either that, or they had to change their names to hide and escape. Seriously, dormant electric powers + working in a junkyard = unavoidable catastrophe. Even if it was just that they had to hide from some pirates who they used to work for as mechanics or something.- 4,591 replies

Yeah, that tan skeletal structure really adds a lot. That would have made the parts really useful for fossil MOCs too. And that huge forehead would have made Skull Basher really distinctive looking. And he looks like a direct translation of that concept would have used the Hulk chestplate, which would have been cool. Even with the purple, the original version, impractical for production as it may have been, still looks so much better than the final one.

So that little girl is indeed holding a gaming console. Huh. Actually, it turns out that was really her hair.
-
Good god, the mental image of how that might be depicted in the show is hilarious. The stereotypical snotty princess...who won't look up from her gaming console. I've just noticed the king's full armor. That looks remarkably cool, actually. I like azure as a detail color a lot, and it provides the necessary contrast for a primarily golden minifigure quite well. And the Ultimates apparently have robot arms attached to their backs. I'm going to be really excited to see how they do that.

After taking a closer look at Jestro's other minions, I'm absolutely in love with all the new weapons and armor they have. That piece that looks like someone tore a piece of granite in the general shape of Ninjago's blade piece looks awesome (and the idea of a spidery monster using them as legs sounds intriguing), as does the helmet that fig is wearing. And the guy next to him is a masterpiece of demonic design style, like a fissure opening up directly to a magma flow. That figure is one I have to get like ten of to stock my Army of Armok. Then there's the King's sword, which is very beautiful and sleek-looking. Plus those little ball monsters (which the things drawing the Chaos Chariot are probably either an uber version of or the adult version of) are really, really cute. The fact that Jestro decided to call his crushing death crusher of death "Jestro's Evil Mobile". Really speaks volumes about how bad his jokes must have been when he was a normal jester. I wonder what that little target in the Fortrex is for.

I love the style the show seems to be going for. And Macy's still my favorite. Seriously, what's not to love? Cool mace (whose components are suitable as d4's), dragon symbol, strong female character... Also, Fortress matches my expectations and, while the cyclops demon is kind of underwhelming, Jestro's vehicle blindsided me with its awesomeness. And those little lava demons are the cutest things. I'm rather confused that people complain about that sword being too large, since longswords were regularly up to two meters long and an average person was maybe 1.6 meters tall. Sure, it's a broadsword-style concept, not a longsword, but if you can build your tanks in whatever design you want while keeping it acceptably sturdy, I think you're good enough at metallurgy to make a huge sword. I'm not sure about Axl's axe blade pieces (or his name, for that matter. Why not name him Axle and joke about him being Axle the Rock Raider's ancestor while simultaneously getting the pronunciation to make sense?), Aaron's bow's little mini guns or Clay's sword. That sword has just a little too much translucent to it. Also, Axl is very very cartoonish in his proportions. But that mini robot body and its arms will be very useful. And those trailers... And that sea serpent crest in Jestro's set... And the fact that we have a passable Paginarum Liber Fulvarum now, thanks to the Book of Monsters. I'm already a complete Nexo Knights fanboy and the theme hasn't even been released.

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DraikNova replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
It seems like a little jittery at times compared to Ninjago's animation, but that's only to be expected with trailers. Some parts of this may seem a little too goofy, even for me, but I'm going to give it a try. It's not like I'm watching that many series, after all. It also intrigues me that both the main villain and the book behind the man, as it were, seem to have somewhat sympathetic motives: the wish to be successful and either the wish to perform its intended purpose or simply a desire for creativity. -
I'm sorry for not posting this in the official topic for this kind of thing that almost certainly exists, but I was unable to find it. At any rate, does anyone know when the next double VIP points promotion for German LEGO stores will be? I have had a lot of difficulty finding out about promotions in Europe.

Reasonably good for a first MOC. I have two pieces of advice for you: First of all, heads that protrude forwards without also having a backwards-swept part never look good because they seem a little unbalanced. Inverting those lava blades would help a whole lot. Second of all, if you are forced to use parts in a certain color for some reason, make sure to add a little of that color in other places in your build as well, as the whole will look a lot more natural. If you have any small yellow spikes, I'd add a few of those to the arm armor. If you have any of the O(O)O connectors and a spare 3m or 4m shell, I'd also try and use that for back armor. Also, usually, if you have to make one limb longer than the other, it should be the lower one. It looks more sleek and practical.
-
If you're not going to actually use it, why make it in the first place though? Considering the degree to which the animations seem to have been designed in tandem with the designers of the sets, the whole "in case we do need them" excuse doesn't really work in this case.

Considering how the combiners are important to the canon this year, I suspect we'll at the very least see Kopaka and Melum in both combined and uncombined form, possibly Tahu as well and if we're very very lucky, we might see all of them.

In my copy of Onua, the stickers went on perfectly, smooth as a print. Seriously, Onua's stickers are magic. At any rate, am I the only one planning to combine Onua 2015 and 2016? I'll probably use the Hulk chestplate and 2015 shoulder armor to give him the proper bulk, but with the skeleton armor and crystal spikes to make his arms a little more proportionate, plus Terak's claws to give him larger hands, yet with the epic drill-hammer-gun his 2016 version sports. The only place I think I could use the 2016 chestplate is on his back, which could look nice. Since the net result will weigh a lot, I'll have to use the Stormer feet, probably with a reinforcement structure.

Destroying the MoUP could be expanded into a year's worth of story all on its own. The thing seems to have a mind of its own and it possesses power over all six elements. It'd take some serious work to keep the Hobbits Toa from getting roasted, drowned, choked, crushed and who knows what else while trying to destroy the mask.
-
So, does anyone have any idea whether or not the Mask contest allows LDD entries?

Better to sort by type. If you put all things of one color together, you won't be able to distinguish the parts you want from the other ones that easily, because the drawer will just look like a blob of one color.
-
Maybe we'll get an Exo-Force like situation, where a battle on a bridge is featured in one set, while the main fortress is in another?
-
I think the Bull Knight's armor will be like some of the previous bigfigs: pin connections for the arms, separate hands that are also connected with a pin. I really love that new bow-gun piece Aaron has. Also, if that's a plume on Macy's helmet, that's rather huge.

Didn't we already have a month of water? I'm hoping we get Earth next. I'm betting that the Month of Earth will feature a Ussal crab-lookalike.
