  1. I very much like the roof here - smooth, with great angles. I do not think it goes with lime on the ground - progression from light colors to dark seems a little unnatural - but considered by itself the lime ground is really nice, and there is no getting over how cute those baby dinos are!
  2. All the guilds have been a little slow lately, but the last free-build period (an extra long one, recently ended and still under judging) had 2 builds from Varlyrio, 25 Avalonia, 33 Kaliphlin, 48 Mitgardia. I think Mitgardia is almost for sure the strongest right now, with several fairly active builders. Kaliphlin had two very active builders @adde51 and @jtooker but builds from others are (to my shame!) very rare (31 out of 33 were built by adde and jtooker!). Avalonia's main builder this last period was @Zilmrud but they had four or five others. Varlyrio has been slow in free builds, obviously, but they did have a challenge, so that sucked away some of their members' energies I think. Still, I think they are the least active guild right now, although Kaliphlin is also slow. Nocturnus, by the way, is closed for membership although you are welcome to have a sig-fig originally from Nocty and are always welcome to build in Nocty. If you look at the first post of the Kaliphlin thread, that starts off with a brief guild history (which is probably also posted in other places, but it's at the tips of my fingers there). This recaps the first Book mostly, kind of skips the second book which had a lot of a spotlight on Kaliphlin. That part of the lore is covered under Section Three in the Kali thread. After that, we've had a Queen and five challenges whose general theme has been, will the Queen stay in power? So far, so good. Challenge I - A Time To Rebuild Challenge II - Bread and Circuses Challenge III - What Will Tomorrow Bring? Challenge IV - The Turning Point Challenge V - Intrigue on the Island Guild Tl;dr: Just join Kaliphlin.
  3. Love the olive ground! The plants are also well done, and the whole MOC looks really nice.
  4. I'm really liking these yellow buildings - such a bright color and it goes beautifully with the green foliage. Love that little cannon too! Kind of feel like you have too many different styles going with the rockwork - studs up with significant stair drops, slopes on the right, and then two curves at the front... But that is nitpicking.
  5. The yellow here makes this build pop beautifully - and also incidentally seems quite appropriate for a vanilla sorting plant. I'm impressed how you managed to use two pretty different styles of windows and shutters on the different stories without it looking wrong. Also nice to see the new tan horse showing up in a build!
  6. Very cool layers of colored rockwork. Really nice touch having the border break for the river too.
  7. You did a great job with your use of lime here, and I also really like the smoke in the front of the cannon! Great wall too - simple, but just the right amount of texture.
  8. Am I right that this is a troop-recruiting build? If so, a really fun way to mix it up by showing a bit of camp life!
  9. As others have said, the FP here is really good. A great brick built flag too.
  10. Thank you both!
  11. That's... a lot of rats. Roof is very nice!
  12. I'm trying to decide whether I like the green and light grey. No, I don't think I do, at least not with yellow beside it. The yellow does look great though. Also like your shutter technique!
  13. Esterhazy stroked his chin and stood up. "Economic sanctions are hardly less a declaration of war than simply granting citizens permission to do as they please. In fact, since they represent an official anti-Oleon action taken by the government as a whole, it seems to me to be even more of a declaration. Also, although it may seem more humane than warfare, economic sanctions frequently hit the poorest hardest, not the rich who can fend for themselves. "I don't say that they aren't the way to go, economic sanctions may be appropriate, but I doubt we should expect Oleon to treat economic sanctions as less than a valid reason for declaring war against us."
  14. Esterhazy nudged his fellow council member, and said in an undertone, "What a pity Captain Argentum isn't here to weigh in on this matter. I think we all know exactly what his sentiments would be..."
  15. Chef Jalape scratched his head and asked, "I thought we were already allowing our citizens to participate in this war on their own hook?"
  16. Impressive file of soldiers, nice way of making tents too!
  17. Neat layout for this micro fort, the angled points are really good.
  18. Thanks Count! Had to build another wall for it.
  19. Lovely colors and textures in this build, I really like how you tied the yellow in with the leaves and the front house!
  20. This is very funny, several great techniques for spilled milk too! Great job with the ruined look of the shack too.
  21. This is really lovely, dark tan is a great choice for the color and the old style windows look so good here. Love the silver dishes too. Great little build!
  22. Massive and super cool ship, beautiful curves! Great choice of colors too.
  23. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
  24. A great variety of colors in your vegetables here, nice minifigure activity going on too!
