  1. Well, I quote him: So? I took that like you could enter anytime from now until two months after Ch. 6 (after it ends, or after it starts, I wonder?).
  2. Nice work, Da Maximus, with the symbols especialy but also like the gold highlights on the balcony!
  3. I have another story-related build up plus another build: The pictures will take you to their topics!
  4. If you haven't seen them already, you may want to check out my Journey of Exploration and The Hut in the Forest! Hidden deep in the most rugged regions of the Siccus badlands lay the lair of the robbers. Three days after their visit to the woodcutter, Raz, Kaflar, and Tardiff had arrived at the strange encampment. An old stone tower rose far above it's surroundings, dwarfing the wooden palisade next to it. Two men, clothed in a black suit of armor like Kaflar, seemed the leaders of the band. Kaflar himself seemed a subordinate sort of second in command - more a "promising robber in training" than actually a full-fledged outlaw. The rest were a motley band, clothed in whatever they could lay their hands on. On top of the stone tower was a small lean-to, or something of the sort, and a few outlaws were taking down fish, no doubt for their evening meal. A young robber was occupied in plucking a chicken. At first no one seemed to notice their arrival, but then one of the leaders glanced at Raz. "So you're back. And you've brought something. What for?" "Why did they bring me?" "Very well. I suppose you know what to do with him." Without another word, Kaflar signaled to Tardiff, who pushed Raz through a narrow opening into the stone tower, in front of which he stood guard all afternoon. Raz's supper was plentiful, and the robbers were civilized enough to let him out to eat with them. But when night fell, he was returned to his "cell", and guarded vigorously. At first Raz was on the alert, always looking for a way to escape, but as the days went by he became more and more discouraged. Even when allowed to walk around, (and his permission to do so increased more and more as the time passed) he still could feel a dozen eyes always at his back, ready to give the alarm should he make the slightest move in a wrong direction. Kaflar was occupied with other concerns. He was careful, and he was subtle. He planned and plotted. And finally, he was ready to make his move. ___________ I hope you enjoyed this next part of the story, it seems like it's been quite a while since I built this (one reason for the bad photography, I think I may have inproved a bit in that respect since then!). Comments are welcome!
  5. It's not going on right now, but there will be one more challenge. The Petraea University Challenge (or whatever it's called) Second Semester is going on until a month after the last Challenge ends, I believe.
  6. Congrats to the winner! Great work with the photography especially!
  7. Thanks guys! I was seriously tempted... you'd better hop to or I really will beat you to it! (Just kidding). Actually it was more the hair. I didn't think you'd want me giving him a pink mowhawk... whereas a change of clothes would probably have done him good.
  8. (I think I have two! ), but really , 20 blue flowers isn't enough?
  9. I plan on getting it, you can never have too many princess (especially when you have none), though I'm not crazy about pink and lime green - but it does have a 1x2 brown tile and I'm always needing more of those!
  10. Great job, especially with the bloody tracks but also the tree! Nice rock to snow transition as well!
  11. Thanks for your concern, guess I should edit that completely out of my signature now... (I did put "It means revive in peace" though didn't I?)
  12. Thank you!
  13. Thanks!
  14. And to think I don't even have one... Well at least I'm Kaliphlin and can stay in the desert! (I seem to have a tendancy not to though!)
  15. The Queenscross bridge across the Arkbri river is one of its kind, overlooking an amazing castle built by one of the ancient Kaliphlin rulers. Once a year it is decorated for the anual festeval. I had some trouble getting the forced perspective to look right so close up, and more trouble sticking the castle on top of the SNOT rock/grass work, but I finally maneaged! C&C are welcome!
  16. Nice work SK, like the green horn on top of the evergreen especially! Neat little treasure cave as well! Quite a nice bunch of leaves you got there too!
  17. I hope so. If that set has a horse (especially in brown, as it's my favorite color even if it's the most common) I'd love to get it. Especially since it seems to have some nice foilage too.
  18. Great! We can always use more builders, glad you're back! Can't wait to see your university build, and I think the second semester has already started so you still stand a shot at a mummy battle pack! Edit: At least I assume that's what it will be, or something similar.
  19. Saddles, yes. Barding no (or it doesn't allow the legs to rear). At least that's what I've heard. Seems like in the Forest Ambush there are two figs, like you said one jumping out from a tree and it seems like the other is on/near a cart. I hope there's a horse pulling it but who knows.
  20. Yeah, but the color coordination is not at all like previous releases. It's like the colors of something you would expect to see in a junkyard.
  21. 1. I think the heads/masks were designed to allow for both options, plus it makes these minifigures more like the standard things. Maybe it's not too bad to have half a theme with molded heads, like Ninjago (and SW has a lot of molded heads), but an entire theme? 2. It was mentioned somewhere or another, and a few pages back there was a trailer which showed at least one Gorrila. You can check it out .3. I don't have Speedorz so I can't answer your question about the ramps, though maybe a playing on a slightly more textured floor (though I'm sure carpet wouldn't work) that would still let the Speedorz zoom byt not let the ramp be pushed around so easily would help? WhiteFang's review of the Ring of Fire and ISC's review of Jungle Gates both tell you how to play.
  22. Ageven has thrown a feast for all Historicans who can make it! Turkey, fish, apples, cheese, bread and other delicacies have been provided! My apologies to those of you who I couldn't build (especially to the Avalonians, who had a rather poor showing for their number), and also to those who I had to change considerably... and I was trying not to favor one over another - except Ageven of course! Uridius Dratiphe warms his hands at the fire while Mich Maxersine discusses politics. Dr. Rod converses with Masa of Kaliphlin on the state of the country and elemental attacks. I tried a few different set-ups, here's one of them: A member from each guild poses in front of their flag. Again, apologies to those not pictured (or not pictured enough!). I also kind of felt like this is one of (if not my best) build, so I had to take lots of photos (and I put a lot of work into them). So there's even more at my Flickr! Comments are more than welcome, as always!
  23. Sort sort sort... build build build... destroy destroy destroy - and then do it over again!

      Sounds familiar :)

  24. I agree about the civilian sets, while those are great for a 13+ age bracket that's more interested in a realistic display than raming knights on horses into each other, they don't sell nearly as well with the younger audience. I personally loved (and still love) KKII (perhaps because I like rainbows and jelly beans? ), but the problem both with those sets and these is the large amount, at least judging by the small thumbnails we've got, of single piece walls (or whatever they're called technically), the fact that they don't seem to be brick built. That's natural if LEGO is targeting a younger audience here as they would not be interested in building a set for an hour before they could play with it (and bigger pieces speed up the building process). But of course for MOCers it's a bit of a let-down. Personally I don't mind, because the less I want from Castle the more I have for other themes.
  25. Yeah, but not ones that look like they've been made in a junkyard...
