  1. I just got my first PAB cup... it was an interesting experience, the store was out of large ones, so I had to stick with a small one. Then there were three of us getting cups and only two tops.. so I ended up without a top, just had to get the top to fit and then stick it in a bag! They had some nice pieces though. Lots of trans light and normal blue round 1x1s, trans clear 1x2 plates, brown 1x4 tiles, bamboo leaves (unfortunately I spotted those last)...
  2. Thanks all! I love coming up with skeleton monsters like that... Thanks! Yeah, that was the last thing I did and my stomach was bothering me so I didn't spend much time on it. I did kind of have my hands tied for pieces too though. That 6x4 was the only blue I had...
  3. Very nice dragon! Excellent job!
  4. Category A Entry: Defeating the Lake Monster
  5. Ralfaus walked briskly along the soft, springy green turf. "I begin to think I've mistaken the way to Nocturnus," he muttered to himself. "Here I am, trotting along the margin of a beautiful lake..." and suddenly his foot caught in a hidden creeper and he went down head foremost into the water. "Nevermind," He struggled to right his long scythe. "I guess I did take the right turn back there. Well, better get out of here..." But as he turned to go, the water began to churn violently. Suddenly a huge skeleton of a lake monster burst up through the waves. Ralfaus gasped. He braced himself to face the creature. He let out a wild roar and swung his scythe. Suddenly he plopped down into the water. Sputtering and gasping he rose to the surface. He shook off the water as best he could. But the monster swooped down on him! This time Ralfaus waited until he was sure of his strike. Then he lashed out with his pole cathing th monster right on his neck. The monster sang, writhing, onto the foamy waters, and Ralfaus, clambered onto the bank. He had vanquished his first foe for Nocturnus! Well, I wish I had got a bit more time, but unfortunately I wasn't able to start until this morning, so I was doing pretty good just to get the Category A one done. I also was working with quite a limited amount of bricks... but I hope you enjoy it anyways. C&C are welcome!
  6. Yep I haven't completely disappeared! I see you're a regulator now! Congrats!
  7. Well, I'm not even going to try to catch up here, but looks like we've got some new members, welcome! Unfortunately I'm just now getting some building time... the challenge deadline is the fifteenth right? I might manege the small one then. @Gabe, I think asking some of the older other guild members to help grade would be a good idea. I'll try to pick it up a bit once I get settled here, but at best my grading will be sporadic!
  8. Disappearing...

      Thanks for the warning ;)

  9. Yeah, between the two it's pretty bad... It will be mainly the next month that I won't have internet. During the rest of our travels I probably won't have much building time but likely still access. Actually, one of the worst things (at least I've found it so) about not having internet is how easy it is to do without it!
  10. +1 on each! The waterfall is quite nice on the bottom especially.
  11. Congrats to Ska! And I'm not going to have internet access for the better part of the next couple months, so I'm about to disappear here. I do plan on entering at least Category A though!
  12. Yes, the lighting does give the impression of an outdoor setting. I couldn't control the sun too much though... Thanks! Well, this has been long since destroyed so there's no way I can change that. Since interior design is under architecture I didn't really consider the possibility of furnishings being taken into account? But if you can't see you're way to giving it credit for that, no problem, I'll retract my claim on that area and pick something else (from a different MOC).
  13. Frankly, I would prefer we just decide that claims cannot be retracted. Given the fact that we're just starting, an exception could certainly be made here, but as a general rule I think that would be the simplest and also the fairest to those who take the trouble to judge (who wants to judge and then have the build switched?).
  14. Thanks Kayne and Gedren! Thanks Infernum! Thanks! It actually never occurred to me that it might look outdoors. The scene is supposed to be inside a cathedral.
  15. PU DoH Credit desired: (Category) General Building, (Subject) Interior Design (Category) Architecture, (Subject) Advanced SNOT (pillars, round arches, flooring)
  16. I posted it @ flickr probably about six mo. ago, but here more recently. I'd like advanced credit for this build then: Duel in Kaliphlin (Category) General Building, (Subject) Interior Design (Category) Architecture, (Subject) Advanced SNOT (pillars, round arches, flooring)
  17. Thanks for the pluses! That was in fact part of my inspiration! I looked it up and down and incorporated what I could... I'd love that category!
  18. Thanks to all four graders! Yeah, that's what I meant! (I wish I could skip over Landscape design in a bound like that! )
  19. +1 as well! Since I haven't commented on the build yet, really great job! The water spilling over the side gives it an excellent touch and you're minifigure's pose is great too.
  20. +1 (+ the other 1 too) (As I mentioned in the other topic, that's one credit too many. However I'm sure you can take care of that easily.)
  21. Certainly +1 on the minifigure posing and also on the stonework. However, I'm not quite sure that the arrow slits really deserve advanced window credit? Don't get me wrong, they're great, but just so small in a build that's totally focused on something else. IDK? You could probably convince me without too much trouble. Edit: Also, with both this and your other build, that would make five advanced placement credits. I think you're only allowed four?
