  1. PU DoH: +1,+1,+1 (incase you have to do it for every subject) And I don't think I've commented on the build yet. Very good job, especially with the roof! I like the way you incorporated so many sig-figs and the outside details are really good!
  2. I'd like MoH Advanced Credit on this build, General Building, Microscale. I've tried it before actually. Here, for example. It's not too hard... provided you have the pieces...
  3. MoH Advanced Placement credit sought. Landscape Design, Sideways rocks.
  4. Advanced placement for these two (so far): "The Queen and I will walk now" - sideways rocks Kaliphlin vs. Mitgardia (Microfigure Tournament) - Microscale Also a couple of questions - does interior design need an exterior as well? I would think not but just double checking. And what if a build was built long ago but posted @ GoH under the four mo. time period?
  5. Kai NRG - Doctor Builds: Claimed Credit: Approved Credit: Degrees: Certifications: Legend:
  6. Actually it will be quite a while. But I'll be taking the more important pieces and will probably get time both to build and get some more!
  7. Thanks all! What, have the Mitgardian's rigged the game again? All four are really nice, some of my favorite microfigs! Thanks kabel! Thanks! Yes, the tents are a little small even at that scale. But as long as they're in the background it's not too noticeable. I was trying to make an irregular SNOT base (using slopes and inverted slopes), but didn't have enough...
  8. Away from (the majority of) my bricks... Actually, just to let you all know, I'm going to be disappearing anytime now...
  9. My latest free-build, and probably my last one for a while:
  10. Back in the good old days before the High King's throne was thrown into peril, jousting tournaments were held quite regularly. A Kaliphlin champion faces off with a Mitgardian defender! The Herald announces the competitors. The Kaliphlin knight's squire holds his horse at one end of the lists: And the Mitgardian prepares at the other end! Comments are welcome, this will probably be my last free-build for a while. I wasn't very happy myself with the tan SNOT base, I think it would have been better green, but I didn't have the pieces so there wasn't much I could do! Thanks for looking!
  11. I agree that it is a bit of a shame that we encourage free-building in other guilds almost as much as Kaliphlin, but we've always been the most inclusive guild, so I think we should open it up that way. If only Kaliphlins were able to get the tag, that would be a good extra motivator.

  13. If builds are separated by comments we're not supposed to edit our posts to add more? In other words we don't have to/shouldn't put all our builds in one comment?
  14. So if a student has another non-standard wall technique they can use that? I was under the impression that it had to be one of the five (?) listed there. If not, we should probably mention that somewhere. Err... not really! Three directions was about all I could come up with before. A bit of an expanded definition would admittedly be nice. Let's see... Multiple direction SNOT using small pieces to achieve a stunning effect, preferable if smooth and rounded? (That's about as vague as anything else, I guess!) Yes, that sounds good. Do we have anything to do with Astronomy yet? Or maybe something underwater? I might be able to produce a small build, say in two or three days. Is that soon enough? As far as the name, I like Master of Historica, but since that is one of the titles achieved it might not be a good name. Technically I suppose this is the Petraea University course, so maybe that could be reflected in the title? Maybe something like "Petraea Masters Academy"? Kaliphlin Building Academy is pretty good too.
  15. Thanks! I don't have enough pieces anyway, but I do kind of like it more spaced apart. Of course with no landscaping that did make it look a little plain... Thanks Infernum! Thanks! Yeah, a little landscape would have made it not look so plain. But most of my landscape pieces were tied up, and I didn't want to spend too much time on this. Plus, the focus is the interior, so that's what I was concerned about.
  16. I agree with Gabe's comment on roofing. I'm not exactly sure what is meant by roof rake either. For the wall technique you specify that standard (which is to a certain extent subjective) studs up walls aren't going to cut it, but aren't Tudor walls stud up? I guess they aren't standard? Also, I think one more less piece consuming technique should be thrown in there. For those of us with smaller collections, building either a la DC or SNOT tiles requires quite a few of the same pieces. Advanced SNOT definitely needs some description, both so the students know what to build and the judges know what they're looking for! I like the way you've arranged Landscape Design, though IMHO some of those would be better in Geography. General Building looks better! I'm with Gabe on the Siege and Fortification... yes, they might go together, but that makes it hard for those who have less bricks! Nah, I think we should leave that. It's a small price to pay for being able to study in our renown university!
  17. Well at least I'm not on the Black Spire! For the unity of Nocturnus then!
  18. Actually, (though we haven't discussed it too much) the current set-up allows all GoH members to participate. Anyway, I went ahead and copied and pasted the list here with a few modifications (red). Under spoilers so the post doesn't get too long. That got posted a little before I wanted it to, sorry! Anyway, (with the exception of Culture) every discipline has three to five subjects (History and Hydrology have three), which makes forty eight. If a max of three are allowed per build that makes sixteen builds. Maybe master/doctor could be completion of all 11 (I think) diciplines, apprentice at four, and bachelor at seven? If doctor is used for 11, Master could be used for nine as well.
  19. Thanks guys! I guess I wasn't in much of a descriptive mood! They are trying to get the Orphans out of Eastgate because Petera (yeah, I wrote Paulos) has taken charge and is not treating them well. So they are smuggling them out into a merchant vessel. (That's why the sailors are helping.) Raising the Dead. A community build that was started not to long ago but was kind of buried under all the book two stuff. Thanks! Silly me! Yeah, I should have known that... Thanks! Yes, that would have been a good idea. I was in a bit of a hurry, and there aren't really any previous parts to the story proper, but I probably should have done that...
  20. I think that's a good format there. Not too much work for either the administrator or the student! And my latest free-build: (Picture is link!)
  21. Task four completed! I sincerely doubt I'll be able to manage another one (maybe in January - yeah that's a long time away), sorry about that! Think of the Children
  22. Mission Link (In case the rest doesn't make sense) With Eastgate under Petera's control, the orphans were put under Capsus. After seeing their condition, the black knight has arranged for them to be carried off by a Gear. Co. vessel docking in Eastgate. The scant amount of furniture in this orphan house has been disposed of for the most part, and the few children still there are being quickly stowed away. A sailor stows a child away in a barrel full of hay: A few of the older children help pack one of the youngest: The captain/trader assures the knight that everything is going smoothly: Comments are welcome! I'm pretty sure this is my biggest house yet!
  23. We've been making pretzels lately... And I wrote about scenes recently, so I felt like doing one! Here you can get a better look at the plunger strip of dough... Comments are welcome! This was a bit of an easy build, mainly to give me a break between all that hard castle stuff. Thanks for looking!
  24. Thanks! I thought a little stream might add to it! Thanks Gabe! I pride myself on my microscale building... Yes... I definitely agree about the brightness. I usually play around with that a bit but somehow wasn't satisfied with the way it looked a little brighter this time, so I left it as it is.
