  1. I'm not sure which projects you are referring to -- can you post some links?
  2. Female minifig set is a great project. Love it and would buy it. Each set would cost something like 12 bucks, if that. Is the "one-set" rule official or just a casual protocol? (Obviously the new Minecraft sets aren't considered CuuSoo projects). The Atlas model is hideous and wouldn't build it if was given to me for free. A big clue as why it reached 10K so quickly is found in the description -- over 3,000 people worked on it. It also probably got spammed on some scientific community message board. Didn't Purdue Pete reach 10K votes in a short space of time?
  3. Which review batch does it fall under? Can't seem to find it on CuuSoo. Is it the one with the dinosaur skeleton?
  4. Since Zelda projects have garnered over 26,000 votes to date (28,000 if you included the windwaker project) i think there's a pretty strong case for a theme. Nintendo already has a deal with K'Nex for Mario, not sure if it includes other Nintendo IPs. (Does Link appear in the K'Nex Mario Kart sets?)
  5. Also distribution is a big part of it. Fwiw, there's a CuuSoo employee who posts on another forum. It seems like they are expanding their team (he/she was actually trying to recruit a member from that forum). On an unrelated issue: can somebody tell me whether the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz project uses an illegal headpiece?
  6. It's more likely to impact their policy of one model from each review period (although not sure how official this policy is). This quarter will test their resolve more than any other (Poptropica, FTL and the 2 Ghostbusters projects -- probably )
  7. There's Muppets will be tricky because of the need for special-purpose molds. There's a Muppets project on CuuSoo, can't say i'm blown away by it, since it's only LDD. On the subject of nostalgia, the 75th anniversary Wizard of Oz project is smashing it. 6,145 votes in one month.
  8. If my calculations are correct, there's a pretty good chance the other Ghostbuster's project will sneak into the same review period. (It's getting about 200 votes/ day) . Anyhow, here are my views on the next review period: Land Rover Defender 110 -- ~3500 pieces and expert build means this has no chance. The Legend of Zelda - The first LoZ project was rejected because it used non-standard pieces. This doesn't apparently. It's a beautiful model, however non-physical build will hurt its chances. It will be rejected but may open the door for LoZ theme in the near future. Android Andy - why anybody would want a model of a corporate logo is beyond me? Exo suit -- Can't think of any reasons why this will be rejected. The model is quite amazing actually and there's tons of playability.
  9. Agree with you in principle. If you look close enough BttF also has plenty of objectionable material -- person gunned down, incestuous kiss, girl getting felt up, gambling, more guns, alcoholism, etc
  10. The Blues Brothers would have received a PG rating but for language. Fortunately, minifigs can't speak. There's nothing "adult" about Teen Wolf.
  11. Yeah, it will easily make the September deadline (and doubtful the competitor will). Which is only fair since a prominent Ghostbuster's message board initially prohibited Brent from posting about his project since the other GBs project belonged to a mod and was heavily promoted. Cuusoo politics, baby! Other cult 80's films that should be CuuSooed The Blues Brothers Ferris Bueller's Day Off E.T. Teen Wolf The Goonies Top Gun Rocky
  12. Your creativity is unbelievable!
  13. Spectacular! Great job!
  14. They can easily do an entire hospital with Ambulance. It's a distinct design - modern or classical.
  15. I'm sure if you pm him, he'll give you the low-down. His EB username is "WetWired". Who knows? the other set is advertising a "playset" (without a build) so i don't see how it's disadvantaged. BrentWaller's Ecto-1 also has working lights. i'm sure that was a big factor.
  16. Yes. He mentioned on another forum that he filed-down an existing lego hair piece for Venkman's receding hairline.
  17. Well, you're wrong because BrentWaller's car model is superior and so are his minifigs -- e.g. compare Venkman's hair piece and their accessory pieces.
  18. Eurobricker wetwired's Ghostbuster's project takes a seemingly unassailable lead over its rival despite starting with a 2000 vote deficit. If you haven't voted for it, you're a Communist. wetwired is also the creator of the UCS Tumbler project which also reached 10K. When the first one hits 10K, people will stop voting for the other. Same thing happened with the BttF. The difference now is over 500 votes. First-in, best dressed, i guess.
  19. Please allow me to retort to your points: 1. CuuSoo is not a theme builder. It's for one-off projects. They idea they will be paying a non-TLG employee commission equivalent to what a TLG designer earns is incredulous. Do the math. $1.50 commission on every modular set x 50,000 sales x 5 sets. 2. Don't so obtuse and take everything i write so literally. They could modify the marshall_banana's plans, so there is no infringement in his design. TLG is a corporation not a charity organisation. They exist to maximize the profits of their shareholders. Clearly redesigning marshall_banana's work is the much cheaper option.
  20. so how do you explain the cgi markings?
  21. The "hidden" issue with MWT is that the commission to the creator would have been more than CuuSoo envisaged, based on the cost each set equivalent to the current modulars x 5 sets. Yes, because they can bring it out in 2 years and not pay the commission to marshall_banana.
  22. The GS theme needs a Bug Battle Pack.
