Which forum does my MOC/topic belong in?
LEGO Family replied to Stormbringer's topic in Forum Information and Help
Im having this project, where im building a castle diorama. I have thought of building castle for a long time. I have made up a whole universe in my head. And it came down to this. The diorama im building has a story attached to it. Im building on multiple things for the whole diorama at one time. So everytime i would finish a set. A story, short comic would go along with it. Meanwhile i would now and then post WIPs of the whole thing ( except for the parts im hiding from you ). Now, that ive gotten to the part where i can post Chapter one. Im getting doubt on wether the comic part would be appreciated in the Historica forum. I really wanted it to be only one post, so i wouldnt spam the forum all over the place. Edit: I mean, iwould post both the WIP, the Comic and the sets in the same post. Can someone tell me what to do ? i hope that im making myself understandable ! ? ... Thanks in advance. :) -
Thanks, we were also really pleased with the outcome.

Question about Yellow Castle 375/6075
LEGO Family replied to Lego Otaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As i recall several of the first castle sets used this "technique" to hold it together. -

Those builds and pictures are very well done. This would be cool as a stopmotion movie .

Awesomeness all over these sets .... They are very well created and they all looks awesome. I would buy a few of them for sure !! :D

Thanks. Theyre actually not green but trans yellow. Its just that there is a blue brick behind it that makes it look green.

MOC: Merry Christmas to you all :)
LEGO Family replied to LEGO Family's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Been in sort of a dark age for a while. Links fixed and thanks to you all. And give some suggestions to what my son should make with me for christmas this year. -
I know its a long time since i posted this, and the response is a bit late ( like very late ). Previously we were building Classic Space. Right now im building castle. Nexst up will be city, and this build is up for a huge makeover. So, i have plans to redo this with some nice touches whenever im done with my Chronicle of Dragon Dent. Thanks a lot. And thats what Eurobricks is for i guess. :)

Almost done with our line of Classic Space, but i never got to post some of the chapters in here. Here is the last we have done. 1. Classic Space - Mining - The return. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/349705 2. Classic Space - Command center - The return. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/349780 3.Classic Space - Construction - The return http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/350051 4. This build. Classic Space. Living quarters - The return. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/370491 5. ****Classic Fied **** Yes, im still around and havent given up on this build. Lets se what our space friends have been doing in all this time. Robodog wants a carrot ? Look... Its the rubberguy again. Hes back ! Hi there rubberguy. Long time since you last pointed that flashing thing at us. Some progress has been made on whatever type of spaceship they are building. But what is really cooking in the kitchen ? So it has growen once again with two baseplates. What have been added this time ? Ive been watching you for several moondays. You keep hiding behind our old spaceship to avoid building on the new one ! ... Right ? If i dont look at him. He will not be able to se me either. Right ? So their spaceship has crash landed here. Thats why they are building a new one for sure ! Oh, getting off track again. What was that about a carrot to begin with ? Living on another planet or moon, you will definately need a living quarter. And some fun to use your sparetime on. Shall i wash your back with soap friend ? Ohm, not to be rude, but we were listening to rubberguy talking about that carrot...... ( Pheeeww ) A small pool with an excellent view over the moons landscape. Our space friends arent looking that awesome without their spacesuits on. And only yellow suits left for the ugly guy. Look ... There is that robodog again ! Having a massive base like this, off course they need to be able to supply for themself. This is their nice garden. That must be whats cooking in the kitchen. Oh, its an cantina. And they need bedrooms also. Well i guess they do. Thinking of it, ive never seen them close their eyes. Then again who knows what thier anatomy is like ? And showers also. Hmmmm, no toilets ? Nevermind, i dont want to know what comes out of them anyways. Oh, and whats that in there ? Another control room. Cant be ! Mmmmm, can we peek through here ? No, not really ... Ahhhh, its a cinema. They are watching old videos of launches and spacewalks to remind them of home i bet. Since i wouldnt want to build on the classic space when my stepson wasnt here, i had to do other stuff. We finally found some time to continue on our Classic Space build. Hope you enjoyed ! :) 1. This set looks awesome. Im not much into city or creator. But this will change all that im pretty sure. I love it. The variety. Favorites must be the kitchen and the foldable bed. Also the artist under the roof is cool even though its pretty easy build. Love it :)

That deer is quite good, a bit blocky. But not that i could do it better :) A good build overall ..

Have gotten some done since last, but not to the extend where im really feeling that a part of the build is finished. This is where i left of from last log. First the boring part. I will redo the whole of the balcony of the tower wall since if looks a mess, also i will redo most of the rockwork in front of the castle. This will be done not because its bad, but because the diffrence in terrain doesnt add up the way i wanted it to, when the next couple of baseplates is added. More on that much later. Some inventory has been added for the castles yard, and a stairway and the bases of the castles baseplate has been finished roughly. Now for some of the fun stuff. I left you with basically a construction of the castles outer walls and not much to look at last log. Lets start with the cellar / armory. Im pretty pleased with how this has turned out. The textures on the floors will not be changed. but i might make a few changes to the walls themself, and offcourse i will add more inventory to the cellar. Next up second floor. A lot still has to be done with this level. I must have redone this some 4 times, never being pleased with the textures. The library is pretty cool, but the door leading into the dinner room kings hall, will be changed, also the wall textures on the outside will be redone. The floor textures im pretty pleased with for now, but lets se how it ends up looking. The small room with the red / marine blue textures on the floor will end up being a kitchen im thinking. Still a lot of work to be done with this floor as well. I need a big dining table, chairs and other inventory for this level as well. Now one level up again. Say hi to the King and princess. The outlines of the walls have not been compleated due to the roof design im working with, it just wont add up yet. But it will at some point since im stubborn and want it done to the best of my skills and wont stop redesigning it till im pleased. Textures of the kings hall im pleased with, and the balconys design, but i will change a few colours here and there on this level. A front view. The princess carriage leaving. Have redone the design, and will do it once again, since i can make the length of it 1 stud shorter and add more steering to it. When this is done the 1st chapter of the story itself will be released and the chronicle can begin. Im in a hurry all over sudden. This will have to do it for now. Hope their aint to many spelling errors . Please do tell what you like and dislike of the build. Thanks in advance :)

Stupid me, i was thinking of 70401 Gold get away. That other set looks interesting though. Sorry, havent seen it in DK either. Gonna ask them about it in the LEGO shop tomorrow and give an update. :)

Tower of Orthac. 2x forest ambush 2x 40057 fall scene ( Which is a small town poly bag. ) Would have bought 10 if they had more in my local lego shop since they have great pieces. 4 PAB cups. So i have some more pieces to work with. Probably gonna get a few 30061 attack wagons next, but i would buy them only for the horse in the set, and im thinking thats a bit expensive for 1 horse.

More Progress pictures: Got the dimensions for the castles main building correct now, and have made the first two floors roughly. Two more baseplates added for the castle. As mentioned a third might be added lateron. Staircase and first floor added. These are just the rough bases for the floors. They are mudular and can be taken apart really easy. Now ive come to the fun part of making interior and tiles to the diffrent floors. Second floor added. Another WIP. The princess horse carriage. This is important for me to get done before the adventure for our hero can begin. Now its time for me to work on the outside of the kings hall and add the kings garden. Do the interior and add textures to the diffrent floors and the castles yard. If you like or dislike something about this build, please do comment to help me get better at building. As mentioned earlier, its my first time building castle, so all comments will be helpfull. Thanks in advance :)

I love your goblin builds. If these were for sale, i would definately buy them !!!
-
Thanks for the advice. Its being tablescrapped these days. The castle will be at least two more baseplates. Including a throneroom and a "kings" garden, also a princess tower will follow along. A third might be added, but for that i will need a lot of slopes that i dont have this moment. But im pretty sure that this project will proceed for some 3-6 months, it could be added in the future if i get to buy the bricks from BL or if im lucky that they will show up in my local LEGO store on the PAB wall. :)

Chapter one of the comic can be found here: http://www.eurobrick...4 Chapter two can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=87274entry1720253 Diffrent WIP_logs: http://www.eurobrick...4 http://www.eurobrick...4 http://www.eurobrick...4 A few notes on how this works. Everytime im finishing a set for the whole of the build i will post them up top. A comic will also follow along, but im still not sure where to put them. Since the builds is the primary thing her and where my focus is at. But i build better if i have already made up a universe for what im building. Along the way i will post WIPs of the whole of the thing. Hi stranger. My name is Imnofa Kertrue. Living north of the Eastern Bridge we had little to do but tell stories and tales when bored. I thought thats why i had these very real like dreams of dragons wizards and knights fighting each other when i slept. Little did i know that they were all very real, and a quest beyond my imagination was lying ahead of me. ** To be continued. ** I keep this first post for finished sets. As i finish a build a story will come along with it. This project is my biggest to date, and will be the first time i build castle. Please give advices as that will help me with my building skills. Thanks in advance :) Added 18th of October 2013. Second set done. The Abandoned Crypt. This has been such a fun set to make. I have rebuilded almost every area of this build several times i think. Changing stuff all the time. Im very pleased with the result. Sideview. As always with my houses / buildings, offcourse they have interior. And the crypt can be entered by stairs. I worked hard to make the backyard very detailed. And it was a must that you wouldnt be able to se the two graves / holes where the skeletons can lay in. The stairs leading into the crypt. The infestation coming out the wall. All the parts that make up the whole set. They can offcourse, all be easily removed, put together again. And topview. This has probably been one of the most complicated builds ive ever made. The reason i say probably, is because of the next picture. This seems to be able to outdo the crypt. Added 9th of October 2013. Set 1 done. The Princess horse carriage I rebuilded this carriage 4 times. The doors can be opened. The princess can sit in there. It should have lots of soldiers. And also have steering. Ofcourse it should be able to carry a chest. Overall it was very fun to make the Carriage as it really tested my skills. But im very happy with the outcome. Guess what is next on the set list ... ? .... :D Welcome to my next project. It begun with me wanting to make an up to date version of the classic yellow castle, but has evolved to become the biggest build i have ever done, with a universe of our own and a story to go along with it. The castle will be modular and and have lot of playability but with as many details as possible to the best of our building skills. It startet with this, but this was meant to be a standalone version of the original yellow castle. This is the design im going with, but its still possible that changes will take place. I really want this to be our best build to date, so it doesnt matter how long it will take to build. All that matters is that it will be fun and look as great as i can make it. And that my story goes along with the build as more chapters are added. For now im working on some 12 baseplates 32x32 studs. But more are likely to be added. Now a few pictures of the progress. Why im posting a WIP is to get as much info as possible from you all. Please let me know what is great and what is not. I have been staring at this for such a long time that i might not see what is straight up akward, and i really want this to be our best creation to date. More pictures in a few days since more progrees have been made but i havent had time to set it all up for decent pictures to be taken. Thanks in advance :)

Review Review: 10237 The Tower of Orthanc
LEGO Family replied to Rufus's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lovely review. And its so true that its impossible to imagine the size just looking at the pictures. I usually does not buy sets this big, and i mistly MOC. However afer having read this review and seen it real life in the LEGO shop, i just had to buy this set today. Now im looking forward to build it in the upcoming week. Oh, and i already got a glass cabinet for it, where it will probably rest till the end of days. Did i get it right that there is only some 4 spare parts left after completing the build ? Thanks in advance. :)- 138 replies
