  1. Thanks. I can se how they could be mistaken for being firebats. Just that the drill that it looks like the SCV has on it, was imo best presented using that orange colour brick. :) Thanks. And as we have written ourself, we are very pleased with the outcome of the units so far. For the battlefield, its still only some 30% done. And we really wants to capture a lot of the SC2 feel. But also all the diffrent maps into one. I do see what you mean, but it will have a totally other feel to it after next update. Since its mostly baseplates you can se on the map now, it really doenst show any of what the final textures will look like. Also for the final build the whole of the light setup when taking the pictures will be important to get that classic SC2 feel to it. I hope in the end we wont dissapoint, cause we really want it to represent that alltime best strategy game. Thanks for all the thoughts and the reply. We will definately think of all this continuing on the battlefield build. :)
  2. OH yeah ... Forgot all about the other pictures. Will upload them at some point later, when i get them resized. :)
  3. Mmmmm .... Its just the way the light falls onto those blue cheese slopes. Funny observation though. ;)
  4. You should really resize your pictures. Average here is 640x480 and 800x600. A TARDIS is a TARDIS, your interpretation could as well have been how the TARDIS chameleon unit could have malfunctioned. We all se it how we want to. Glad you add your design as well :)
  5. Bet that was my collection. Glad it brought up that many memories. A few links: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/system/space/classic http://www.worldbricks.com/lego/lego-instructions/by-year.html At least i hope it will help you. Second link you can choose by year, but it will show all lego creations made. But it did help me to find a few sets i didnt have the manual for. Like for the Airport and a bigger retro space set. Hope it will help you. :)
  6. Awesome job with this build. The interior. The text. Wall textures. The glass facade. Really really well done. :)
  7. Funny enough, until recently i had none. Then having recovered my old LEGO collection, i have 126 ( cause all the LEGO ive bought have been from PAB and BL ). Then in the weekend i got 4 more figs from the kids since they were in LEGOland Billund. An estimte is that the kids have some 400-500 figs in their collection. Now this thread is making me want to build them all just to see. :P ( Does droids also count as figs ? .. Then add some 40-50 more ) .
  8. Here is some information on the machines used for molding. I dont know much about it neither, but felt like looking it up since i was curious to know something about this topic. ITs quite complicated though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Injection_molding
  9. No problem. In fact, i like that we are able to help. We have learned so much from the community. Giving back some of the knowledge is just a great gift. I hope you post your build when it comes to that. Would love to se some more Doctor Who builds, like yourself , offcourse. ;)
  10. So i guess you found it now ... We found it funnier not to mention it... Another LEGO forum was sharp to mention it. Then again, i find that the Doctor Who fan group is bigger there, though most Doctor Who moc´s is to be found here for some reason.
  11. Thanks. And glad you like it also. Im really happy with the Protoss race also. I really wanted the Zerg race to live up to those. Thats gonna be really hard. But it aint done yet, so lets se. :)
  12. Yeah .. We know ... IT was a matter of what we had available ... The best we could do at that time ... Glad you liked it anyway .. :P
  13. Ohh, and we will .... Forgot all about the Teselecta David Tennant and Math Smith MOC ... Will put it up whenever i have time for it ... Im very busy these hours. :)
  14. Thanks a lot mate . :) At first we thought of that also, ending it a few frames earlier ... However the Genesis ark is critical, so we felt like we had to mention it ... Well, you will se when next episode is up ;)
  15. Oh yeah .... That scene is so memorable ... Since we didnt make interior in this version, we still managed to incorporate the rift. Did you notice it ? :P
  16. No, go ahead ... Use whatever technique you want. Also in some 14 days time i will have instructions up on how to build it to match exactly with the above version. :)
  17. Hahaha ... Well, better have one made of "bricks" than one made from the fallout of an actual wave of bombs ... Besides, you can have an apartment with a very good view in your version. I bet that the view from that altitude in case of a real nuke would be just as beautiful ... Just not everlasting as your build. ;)
  18. I use the lightsaber for our comic with a round transparent stud. I think it works fine. have a look here. Its the second Chapter, the first time the Doctor appears, so dont read through it till you have readen Chapter one ;) Link: Doctor Who - The LEGO comic - Chapter 2 The TARDIS outside appearence, thats the hard one. Ive seen a lot of diffrent designs ( we are quite happy with ours ) ... But making it on a baseplate 6x6 studs, you will still have difficulties approaching the look from the series. However i have some suggestions for new bricks. Well, most of them are already made, but not in the color scheme needed. Sorry, i wont tell more since its a big thing for us and a reveal for our CUUSOO project. But i will update you in some 14 days time. Thats when we should have our brickcount done a the finished design and building instructions for our TARDIS interior up for all to use. Anyhow, for now use google / CUUSOO / EB / MP and you shall find a lot of diffrent great TARDIS blue box exterior designs. Maybe you will find jut the one idea that makes yours shine. :) Hope it helps you. We are the biggest Doctor Who fans on earth :P .... ( Besides all the others ) ... ;)
  19. Thats a screwdriver .... Not sonic. :P Hehe ... I always enjoy a Doctor Who MOC ... You figs are great ... Im not so sure about the TARDIS, but hey, a 1000 have been made. They are hard to do in LEGO. :)
  20. Damn, and i dont get to go. But both my kids goes on saturday. I so hope my oldest son will take a lot of pictures of whats going on there. Then again, i get to spend a weekend alone with my wife .... Its a hard choice. What is better. :P
  21. Thanks a lot. Finally a reply. lol Ive seen so many Doctor Who MOCs around in here, so i went through a lot of work resizing the pictures to post the comic in here also. To be honest, its kind of weird to us, that no more have replied in here on our comic, since we have had a lot of replys on another forum. I was just beginning to think that people dont use this forum a lot, or only want Doctor Who if its the Series. Anyway, thanks for showing some interest. And Chapter 5 will be up in about 2 weeks. :)
  22. Thanks. And im glad i used the grey grill tiles to be honest. I didnt have enough White, so i went with grey. Ive gotten more white grill tiles lateron, and redid it. It just doesnt look as cool as with the grey ones imo. Thanks for replying. :)
  23. Thanks :) Im really digging the retro space again having found this collection. I have all sorts of ideas going on of what to build out off all these cool finds. Lets se if i can make it, and live up to those old great designers. Thanks for replying. :) Thanks and Awwwww .... I would have loved to share with you if i felt i had enough of these old sets ... But indeed, it was a nawesome find. I simply love em all . :) Auch ... I could easily have done the same. I was just so "fortunate" that i forgot about it when i met my first girlfriend and it ended up in a cellar at my mom and dads place. :P Yeah, and still they look so insanely awesome. Those "planet" decals on the retro space bricks are a killer ... I so still love them even though they are not glittering anymore. Thanks for the reply. :)
  24. Update: We have somewhat compleated the Terran forces. More structures might be added but only few changes as we see it right now. We are satisfied with the units. However what the final number of units on the battlefield will be we have no clue. Lets se if we run out of bricks. Enjoy. :) Introducing the Terran units and structures: The structures: Supply Depot: In addition to providing supply in StarCraft II, the depot gains the ability to lower and rise from the ground. When lowered ground units may pass over it. Unlike the Perdition turret, it is not considered burrowed or hidden when lowered. Vaspene refinery: A refinery is a somewhat ramshackle[1] and antiquated terran structure, designed to speed up the arduous process of the vespene gas mining on the more desolate terran worlds within the Koprulu Sector.[1] Constructed on top of a geyser, the refinery processes the raw gas into a harvestable form[2] and then automatically packages the gas into containers easily transportable by SCVs.[1] Refineries have a core that, if damaged, can destroy the entire refinery in an explosion.[3] Barracks: The barracks is one of the most essential buildings, producing 'first-tier' units. Without other buildings, the barracks can only produce marines for 50 minerals apiece. With the academy building, the firebat can be produced for 50 minerals and 25 gas. With an academy and a science facility building with an attached covert ops add-on, the ghost can be trained for 25 minerals and 75 gas. If playing the StarCraft: Brood War expansion pack, the medic is produced here at the same cost for a firebat, and same requirements (barracks and academy). The barracks itself requires 150 minerals to be built. Starport: The starport is an advanced terran structure, responsible for the construction and maintenance of all space-faring vehicles and starships. A control tower may be attached to coordinate the upgrading and construction of advanced vessels.[1] Starports can function both terrestrially[2] and as space stations.[3] At least some feature a flight school.[4] Command Center: Command centers, or "command posts",[1] were designed to be roving resource processors for Confederate prospectors. The command center can pick up stakes and move on to new mineral or vespene deposits. They also have the ability to manufacture SCVs and serve as the return point for mining vehicles. With pressed metal plates,[2] command centers are heavily armored and sturdy, though are slow moving whilst in flight, where they are at their most vulnerable.[3] Structurally, the command center is as wide as it is tall (3 stories), easily identifiable from a distance through its flashing beacons. Massive repulsor landing claws support the main bulk of the structure with external ablative plates reinforcing the main hull. Observation towers, antennae, sensor domes and other similar devices are situated above the center proper. Processors are also maintained to process resources, taking up the bulk of the command center's external space.[4] Command centers may be relocated using jump-jets, but must shut down all other systems to move.[1] Terran units: SCV: SCVs can patrol, a very useful ability considering they can auto-cast repair. While multiple SCVs are able to simultaneously repair a unit/structure, only one SCV can construct a structure at a time due to reasons of balance. SCVs may repair any allied unit that is considered "mechanical" regardless if it is terran or protoss, but they can only repair terran structures. It is also the only terran unit that does not have a ranged attack Marauder: The marauder is equipped with dual grenade launchers that are effective against armored targets and slow the speed of enemy units except massive units. The marauder can only slow one opponent at a time. The marauder is considered an early support unit, designed to pick off early game units. It is useful for slowing down fast melee units. Marauders are better off facing mixed (light/armored) enemy forces, but are especially useful against the armored roach.[9] They are also powerful against stalkers, immortals and, to a lesser extent, siege tanks and thors.[10] Marauders can destroy buildings very quickly. The marauder is vulnerable to zealots,[11] marines, and zerglings. As a general rule, a player battling zerg should build fewer marauders than usual, while against the protoss, marauders are effective, though work well with medivac dropships as a "commando force" when battling the former.[12] Hellion: In use by 2490,[2] the hellion is a high-speed raider built around a lightweight four-wheel chassis. Hellions are capable of causing damage disproportionate to their size, particularly against enemy infantry, thanks to their heavy Infernal flamethrowers. Additionally, their remarkable acceleration allows for improvisational tactics in the field. Some hellion drivers will deliberately outrun their enemies only to turn and attack when they have reached maximum range. The low cost, exceptional agility, and devastating firepower of these vehicles have made them extremely popular with mercenary companies.[3] Banshee: The Banshees were heavily optimized for its intended role. Armament was limited to air-to-ground Backlash rockets. The aircraft was powered by relatively low-thrust and inexpensive turbofans capable of operating only in an atmosphere[2], or allowing the aircraft to be dropped from orbit.[3]; the engines were incapable of attaining escape velocity.[2] Thor: The thor is a huge and powerful terran mechanical walker. Despite the thor being smaller than the Odin, the thor is still heavily armed and armored, and known to be one of the most heavy and powerful mechanical units in the Dominion Armed Forces. Siege Tank: The siege tank continues to function as it did in previous games with the dual tank and artillery modes, except it doesn't require as much support as is needed in the original StarCraft. The tank cannot fire when moving, leaving the tank vulnerable to attacks by melee units. It is also highly vulnerable to air units. The siege tank bobs slightly when it stops moving.[2] Siege tanks are strong against marines and hydralisks, and weak against thors, immortals, and zerglings. Given its firepower, siege tanks are also popular with marines and marauders, providing artillery support for both defensive and offensive roles. When combined with the MMM combo, it is especially effective against roaches, stalkers and even deterring collosi to an extent. Battle cruiser: The battlecruiser fires multiple relatively low damage shots, with the anti-ground attack being more powerful than the anti-air attack. This makes the unit better able to handle groups of weaker, low armor, units. In turn, the battlecruiser's high armor makes it less susceptible to weak attacks. This makes them good against marines, hydralisks, mutalisks, and sentries. However, they are weaker against vikings, corruptors, and void rays. The Yamato Cannon out ranges defensive structures and may be used to clear out defenses. It may also be used to soften up tougher units or thin enemy ranks quickly. This is especially useful in numbers against void rays, potentially eliminating several before they can charge up. A preview of the Protoss forces in its design phase: Next update, we thought would be a WIP of the battleground itself. However the builds of the Protoss race is flowing very nicely. So we simply have no clue which update will reach you all first. Anyhow, thanks for looking by, and please tell what like and dislike. Construction in progress. :D
  25. This is sooo retro space packed in modern design .... I so love it ... Actually im gonna build a few myself having found all my old LEGO and now having the transparent bricks at hand. Very well done sir. :)
