[ESL - FB4] Alejandro's Office, Nova Terelli
Bregir replied to Phadeout's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice compact and stylish little house. Corrington approves. -
Haha, very cool way of showing the battle. Very innovative - I like it - and it is nice to hear the story of how the Queen's Rifles earned their reputation! (Although shooting at Officers do seem very ungentlemanlike! )

You are really rocking these depictions of jungles, mangroves, etc. Very well done, Gideon, and as someone else said, the scale of the trees is very effective. I do prefer the light in the first pictures to the last one, although it does have a certain dramatic effect. Well done!

Great looking townhall! Bardo must be more than the frontier settlement I took it for! I particularly like the detialing around upper and lower windows - very well done! Edit: Approved by Corrington

As Elostirion said, this is a perfectly executed build. The finish is impeccable allover, and the amount of detail is just perfect! Looks like a very stately residence, and I shall be looking forward to seeing what next you come up with. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more backstory to the character. (As I think you did when you introduced yourself - currently, the info is a bit sparse.)
-
Both story and build are great, Kai - I really like the how the shots and the posing helps convey the story, and of course, I am happy to have been some inspiration! I am not going to repeat what others have said about all those lovely details, but just want to say I am impressed with the variety - Seems like Guy is looking for his exact area of interest, and just bought a lot of expensive toys to try out different things! His current experiments (apart from the Frog one) is probably outside the scope of the Royal Society of Natural Philosphers, as it mainly concerns itself with the study of living things. Chemistry and physics, we leave to the NERDS!

Nice little guns (which I find fitting for a 2F) and very menacing look with those black sails! The hull is a little basic, but you have included some nice details, including the gun ports and lanterns, and the bow sprit looks great. This is a nice example of a sloop - however, she has the look of a vessel that wouldn't mind being changed into a privateer, should the opportunity arise...

Hah! An April's Fools that ends up not actually being a an April's fools - as he will actually have to live there... I do hope there is a large inheritance in store from that Uncle, considering what Guy has to put up with!
-
Approval from Corrington! Very lively and active scene, with a lot of nice details, such as the spread out blanket with wares, the "pig-in-a-basket", and the multitude of people and wares. Well done!

[ESL - CH 2B] Why did you burn it?!
Bregir replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice story, action, and landscaping. I think you did a really good job of depicting the burnt forest as well as the lusher parts, and the hidding natives and the captured Oleander are nice touches. Well done!- 12 replies

That is a lot of guns crammed into a rather small fort! Looks very imposing. However, I hope this picture is painted during high tide, otherwise the powder will be wet when the tide rises! I like how it is built into the cliff, and I am happy to see you haven't abandoned the Viking survivors! Great to see them back!

[COR - CHIIA] Help Me, Erie Flynn, You're My Only Hope.
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great looking blockhouse, Ska - just the kind of inland fortification I was hoping to see here. Very fitting for the setting. On closer inspection, the ground looks a little bare, but I think the grazing animals and the different vegetation does a good job of disguising it. And maybe it really just is a flat plain? (Those fallen over flower stems work surprisingly well. The story is really good too - but I wonder if it will have diplimatic consequences... My only comment is to put something in the title that indicates that it is part of a series - I read them in the wrong order!- 13 replies

As to calculating town bank: "Every property built within a settlement gives the town bank 5 DB per month." - Is this only licensed properties? And: "When a settlement becomes a city, it will also receive 5 DB per month for every property in its hinterland (area surrounding the city)." - How does one define what is in the settlement, and what is in its hinterland?

I heard rumours someone conducted a raid! I wonder if this will have diplomatic repercussions! And it sounds like a dramatic MRCA! Now is the time to endlessly harass Ska to bring us the results, while we sit around impatiently, pulling out our hair!

[SR - MCRA] Outside of Belson......
Bregir replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think Titus is writing with a foreign autocorrect that keeps correcting "it" to IT (Information Technology) - either that, or he REALLY wants to emphasize IT! Nice MRCA build - The White Skull moc is instantly recogniseable - very well done! -
All hail the admins! I will have to have a look at King's Harbour, but luckily, that is still on a very managable level!

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion

Fixed that for you. Everybody knows you have no need for doctors, if you are no heathen! -
There seems to be some discrepancy between the answer Garmadon gave, and the one Ska gave, in terms of sistershipping. Can this be clarified?

[OL - FB2] The 'Commerce de Breshaun'
Bregir replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The first barque, if I am not mistaken! Very well done! The hull: Very pretty lines, lovely beakhead and great cabin - I particularly like the windows on the side, although I cannot quite make out how you did them. The open hatch and the brickbuilt boat within are great too, and I would like to see a detail shot of both boat and guns. (And of course, the fleur de lis is wonderfull) Rigging: The rigging is wonderful, and I think you are the first to show staysails and studdingsails - very nice! However, I think your lower staysails are a bit too near square, where they would, typically be almost triangular, and I cannot imagine what kind of wind would induce the skipper to set all stun'sails at the same time, when the wind is obviously right abaft - surely, they would put each other in lee?... Generally, though, brilliant barque, and a very fine example of a class 5. I woudl have put her down as a trade ship, rather than a fast, but I don't mind your choice. Well done! -
[COR - MRCA] HMS Whisper, a captured ship
Bregir replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice looking little brig, SilentWolf. I like the crew and the life on deck, and the rigging is pretty good too. (Only missing the lowest square sail in the foremast) She's got a nice discreet curve to the hull, and while I prefer cabins to be more integrated in the hull, the transition here works great. I like the overall shape of the cabin, and you have given it some great angles. Well done!- 6 replies

First of all, my personal wealth or anyone's perception of it is entirely besides the point, and I strongly resent any insinuation that I am arguing out of mere personal interest! (We can easily find reasons for duels - haha! ) Second, the MRCA is a story building/supporting mechanism, and it has as basic condition that a vessel entered into it is at risk of being lost. This condition is part of what makes the MRCA fun and interesting, as there is something at stake. Further, risk follows reward. Therefore, to maintain immersion and the story building capabilities of the MRCA, I maintian that license and moc are two sides of the same coin, and should not be separated. Imagine the story lines created by ships being captured and changing hands several time - each ship will get its own story! However, I understand the constraint of time, bricks, money, creativity, etc., which makes it impossible for anyone but KB to keep cranking out masterpieces. But as I see it, the problem is more or less non-existent, when you consider the opportunity of ransoming the captured vessel, As suggested at 80 % from NPC's, and subject to negotiation from PCs. And then I would of course recommend those who capture a vessel, which the original owner is much attached to, to allow the prior owner to ransom it back at around license cost. That seems only fair. I prefer this solution to Maxim's idea of double-licensing a captured vessel, as it will (moderately) flood the game moderately with sisterships, which will have the downside of stunting the market for selling and buying vessels. Again, my concerns are to create an interesting game, not to make it convenient to play the EGS and make a great profit.

I am with Gideon on this. Further, it will do away with some of the issues of managing who is eligible for what sort of free license.

Yes, in any case, that is alright, as it is a (sufficiently) new moc. Should anyone protest, the Naval Licensing and Prize Court can take it up, but I doubt that will be relevant.

This assumes that the vessel has not been taken apart, which might very well be a false assumption.
