I took a look to see where Falahaus was located and it seems it is on the coast so trade should be easily established without Desert King interference. Perhaps one day soon a Ulandus trade ship will make its way north to Falahaus bringing supplies of exotic fruits and wine from the island of Gorr....

Thanks! Its great to see you back here in GoH!

Trifork is turning out to be such an interesting city! Nice to see the Kaliphlin influences again and although I sometimes don't have the time to read every story, I'm glad I had time to read this one. Nicely done!

Nicely done! So many great details!

Thanks for the comments everyone! Great to know where Trifork stands. Masa may show up in Trifork soon as he is in the area still searching for that treasure... (I haven't had the time to finish the build as I got sidetracked by a few other incompleted MOCs) Ulandus was during the civil war but alliances form when there is a greater enemy....

In response to the Desert King's heralds, the Ulandus resistance sent a message to every town it could. "Brothers in arms, we ask of you to send your troop of warriors to Stone Town on Gorr instead of to the Desert King. With the First Centurion gone and the reintroduction of Ulandus into Kaliphlin, the people of Ulandus seek only to be eternally free from the terror of the Desert King. We ask everyone of the same mind to unite with us against the Desert King so that we can reinstate the High Council under whose rule the Guild of Kaliphlin has experienced prosperity for so many years. If you wish to remain neutral, we will honor your wishes, but even if you could only support us with supplies instead of warriors, it will still help our cause."

Don't get discouraged by the hate, bro! I think you guys are on the right track as far as selling sets to the kiddies and this is definitely a ton better than Chima. My son is stoked for this and I am looking forward to seeing the next batch of baddies as well...

Monster Contract: The Wolf of Drond's Feelds
Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks guys! Thanks! I actually quite the landscape but as you said perhaps the photo detracts from its attractiveness. All my builds look way better in person than my photos anyway... Thanks! My thoughts on the green slopes as well... Thanks! If I ever come back to this, I may try to stagger the cheese slopes for the fur to make it less consistent. That game gave me lots of inspiration. Also took a lot of my time away from building... Thanks for the comments! -

Nice! -
I initially wasn't too thrilled about this new theme but with the new pic, I have warmed a bit towards this. As both a castle and space fan, I see potential to kill 2 birds with one stone and perhaps this is what TLG had in mind...

Monster Contract: The Wolf of Drond's Feelds
Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for commenting! Thanks! I think the trick is finding a component that will convey the style of the exclusive mold that blends with regular bricks. A lot of my ideas don't look as good when I assemble them as I thought they would but this one turned out just as I had visualized it. The only problem is that I'm noticing a decreasing connection strength in certain components that make posing more difficult than it should be. Thanks! Haha, well you volunteered so you got it! I'll try and include Lord Alric's reward in Kyros and Anton's next adventure. Thanks all! Thanks! The next adventure most likely won't be as impressive as it is mainly a terrain study but I do have some wild WIPs that hopefully will be coming not too long down the line. Thank you! Thanks! As far as the story this might just turn out to be one of those never ending quests. Like what is in that treasure chest under the old tree in the bog? Shockingly it might just have something to do with the giant wolf they just killed.... Thank you for the comments! Thanks for taking the time to comment both places! Much appreciated! -
I like how you made the top of the wall! That being said, I think the wall itself would look better 2 or 3 studs thick since the photo angles show its thickness.

Nice build! Like soccerkid said nice job with posing the rider!

From the diary of Anton D'Oro: My time under the training of Kyros changes from long spells of extreme boredom and tiresome journeying to short periods of exhilaration as we track down monsters that pose a threat to various residents throughout Historica. It is during one of those spells of boredom that I decided to compose this diary to record the tales of my adventures. My first lesson with Kyros had been to collect some treasure to fill our purses for our traveling expenses as we traveled the land. Looking back now, it brings me mirth when I think how terrified I was when we encountered the bone dragon that Kyros calls "Old Bones". Kyros' training has forged me into a fearsome warrior that will make my father proud when he hears tales of my deeds. But enough of that... let me begin my diary with my most recent adventure. We were wandering in Avalonia picking up odd jobs dealing with bandits that had become ever more common since a large mass of Avalonia's soldiers had gone south to Kaliphlin to aid in the war there. We had just brought a band of cutthroats to justice and the night was closing in when we set foot in a small town called Drond's Feelds. We filled our innards with the soup that the patron town's inn was serving that night and afterwards straightway retired to our rooms. In the morning, having been well refreshed, Kyros sought out to get us hired for another task to occupy our time. It was not long when he rejoined me at the inn where I was regaling my adventures to the local maidens that had gathered around me. The task seemed easy. The locals had of late been terrorized by a giant wolf, so we set out make an end of its marauding tendencies. Kyros told me that the locals had told him that the wolf was as large as a hut to which I laughed. It was amusing how creatures seemed so much larger and terrifying when you had not the skills to deal with them. But it wasn't long until I was chiding myself in my haste to cast judgement on these poor folk. They had been right. The creature was in fact larger than many of the humble huts that made up the town of Drond's Feelds. However, as usual, after lighting our torches, Kyros and I made short work of it and we returned back to Drond's Feelds to collect our reward. Unfortunately instead of the gold we had expected one of the town elders informed us they had decided to increase our reward and handed us a map to where a treasure lay hidden worth in the least ten times the amount they had agreed to pay us. All we had to do was go collect it. So it is now that I write this as we trek through a filthy bog searching for this cursed treasure. I made mention to Kyros that we had been had and that the treasure did not exist but he insists that he could tell the townsfolk had not lied to us but our problem lay in the vagueness of the map and our lack of knowledge of the area. I tire now so I will try and get some rest as we continue our search tomorrow. Farewell until my next entry... [Attached to the page are a couple sketches of two figures killing a giant wolf]

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Mike S replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I thought Xerxia was occupied.... With the First Centurion gone, I don't see any obstacles to Ulandus and HC uniting. In fact I'm pretty sure the First Centurion was the reason why HC and Ulandus didn't merge during the war. So the Desert King did HC and Ulandus both a favor by getting rid of the First Centurion! Lord Kral still misses him though.... -
Nice build! Gideon is right, Lord Kral would be delighted should Elijah join the Order!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Mike S replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yes, though I would say it is more of a temporary truce. Either Gideon or Adair is probably the default voice of the High Council making Barqa??? the temporary capitol of the High Council since the Desert King captured Petraea. Robuko is probably the default voice of the Desert King, and Kai probably the default voice of Ulandus whose temporary capitol is???(Kai, your thoughts?), while gedren_y speaks on behalf of the Nestlands. Masa has no political clout since he was absent during the war. However Lord Kral does have some influence with Ulandis being related to the First Centurian. Ska and I had talked about some backstory that I had planned to build but then I got busy and then I lost all track ofwhat was going on in GoH and started posting scifi mocs lying about my lego room for AG. But I have a three month break now and I plan to do some more GoH stuff until the end of December when I will probably go MIA again for about another year this time.
