Adding pieces to get a better look usually does not work for me. Instead I try to reduce the number of pieces and make the remaining ones flow together. In your case I would not use the second line of flexaxles at the top (only use a set on the hood) and I would remove the white vertical 3L connector. If possible add a white 5L beam behind the numberplate such that the line is continuous 2L thick from left to right. And allthough I like the look of the propellorblades as grille pieces I am not sold on the location they are in now. At such a low point 'normal' cars usually don't have a grille I think. Maybe they can work as the main grille, but then again, it is maybe too outspoken for a family car to begin with. My 2 cts

[MOC] VW Polo R WRC

Wow, great first MOC! I agree with others about the colourscheme, but your front is showing some good potential -
Hi, I was working on a sequential shifter for my next, next project and, inspired by @Didumos69 his shifter I came up with a compact version of his mechanism that fits inside a 5 wide central column. Here is a short video to show it's working: Feel free to use it if you think you can use it. EDIT: Sorry for the bad quality of the video, it was a quick shoot on a rainy afternoon Leg godt, Jeroen

On my browser (Firefox, win10) the 360 is just a wide (1000px) picture of about 20 pixels high. I can just see the tips of the antenna and that's it. I can move them around though BTW: Excellent review. I have my version on pre-order with an estimated delivery date of another 5-6 weeks. Seeing it popping up in different stores already is going to be a test of patience...

Absolutely incredible build... I haven't read your whole post though, I'll save it up for a rainy day to read it next to a fireplace. Let's hope that no-one will quote the entire post just to say well done :P

Thanks for the videos, they show clearly how designed this whole car is A yellow 3L pin with bush?? Nice to see someone using parts of my first set

Good to see some more progress on this one. I would make the 3x3 dishes behind the headlights in the same colour as the grille, that way the front will become more one whole. I think the B-pillars do slant a bit too much inwards. That is a consequence of using the #3 connector, so maybe you can replace them with 2 smooth connectors an adjust the angle.

Great build! Very clean lines, the whole bodywork is working together. Do you have more details on the door mechanism, that looks quite interesting with all the angles?

My VW T1 XXXL Long MOC

Fanastic looking model. What is the technique you used to form the rigid hoses? (I use a hairdryer to heat them up in the desired shape and then cool them quickly under running cold water) BTW: It probably belongs in the scale modeling subforum. -

Good to see you building again. I won't try to picture in my mind how you managed to run over your own leg , but I certainly wish you a speedy recovery. That laptray is starting to look a bit smallish... It never seizes to amaze me how you are able to put these models together. So keep calm and ramble on! -

That is some out-of-the-box CVT solution. Do you have a video of it? The use of womgears is a stroke of genius -
Hmm... interesting. I thought I usually have some issue with the next pinhole hitting the edge of the teeth of the gear , but I'll give it a try

Tough decision on the gearbox, but the right choice I think. At this scale simple things tend to explode in size relatively speaking. For example: fitting a differential already fills up most of your trunk You'll be needing all the space you can get for some structural elements / connectionpoints for the paneling

Nice review. One question: Doesn't the 24T gear in the boom hit against that yellow crossblock above it? Normally they use the old steering crossblock part in this setup to prevent that it hits the crossblock... Is the gear changed in diameter?

Cute and innovative suspension -
Getting better and better... It may take some time, but it definitely is worth it

The shape is great, a 4 speed gearbox is a first for me in a motorcycle so that'll be interesting. It is a bit late for me, but shouldn't the pistons move against each other in a boxer motor?
-
Very interesting build Paul I like the lines, it looks solid and the gearbox is certainly intriguing. And I like the colour coding for the functions Did you paint the 3x13 curved panels? Or do you have a secret stash of 42070's? Building a modular chassis is something I've attempted a few times, but never succeeded at in such a clean way. And darn, you beat me to using the bent panels as a straight continuation of the curved 5x7 panels I am looking forward to the video with the mechanical functions.

Great review of a great set I have it on pre-order, can't wait to get my hands on it. One minor remark on the review: I think the 11L LBG axle is also a new colour this year, right?

[MOC] Ford Focus ST

I think I understand what you are saying. Photos always have a bit of 'distortion' because of the perspective lensing (if that is correct term for this?). That is why I use the 2D views of my digital models to map against the blueprints. -

No worries, I used Sariel's scaler to size my model, the dimensions are correct within a stud to the blueprint I used. Maybe you have a different version in mind (or maybe somebody put a blueprint on the web that was completely off)? Here you go (not the best looking part of the car I must admit): Hmm... This indeed looks different. However I used this blueprint: As you can see this model is a lot stubbier than yours... -
I really like what you did to the windows It is looking much cleaner now. I know you are short on the white grill pieces, but I think the DBG ones are distracting from the (now better looking) rear TBH. For the front you may want to draw some inspiration from Madoca's Icarus or Charbel's Volcano. Use the flexaxles to curve around the wheels and place some panels above the wheels to cover them. The rear lights might look better if they are positioned facing backward instead of pointing downwards. Lights are tough details to get right though, in real life you can almost identify the brand of a car just by looking at the shape of the lights. That shows that there is a lot of detail in that shaping that we perceive... I guess it must have something to do with our lizardbrain recognizing the eyes of the predators or something .
