Aha! That'd probably explain why I frequently shout "SWEETBABYJEEBUS!" whenever I stand on one of those Satanic bricks.

Excellent recreation of the original vehicle.

MOC: Bust of David Bowie (as Ziggy Stardust)

You have a difficult set of angles and surfaces to work with, but this is excellent work! I particularly like the hair. -
Definitely the best looking Fire Station I've ever seen and that's a serious amount of 'brick' bricks. Well done!

I rough built the remaining walls of a WIP 16-wide Modular MOC of a local shop. There's a BL order waiting for me at the Post Office to change the color of the facade to Sand Green and I'll take pictures and post this week. It's a bit of a departure from my normal run down city buildings - I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Superb! Very faithful to the original.

It looks realistic! The only thing I might suggest is to tweak the position of the columns on the top floor so that they line up with the columns on the middle floor. But I can't wait to see if in real bricks...

It's coming along well. I think the front and the rear both look good, the door handles are a nice detail. Can't wait to see the rest...

Welcome to the forums Elvin! Those minifig customisations look very impressive.

You HAVE to brick build that Submarine! -
I try and build what I see here in the mid-west. The architecture is fairly straightforward two-story and there's a somewhat restrictive colour palette used. Here's what we've got around here: Car Repair Shop http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84426 Soup Kitchen/Flop House http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85890 Tractor Supply Company http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88656 Thanks for all the comments!

Excellent post ShaydDeGrai. -
Excellent interior chock-a-block full of great design and a good looking facade. I think it'd fit in well next to the Parisian Restaurant.

It looks really effective. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I thought your original was fantastic, but this is even better. Wow!

I thought about and started modding an existing one, but I just couldn't get it to look right. Thanks, I'd built an interior and I've edited the main post to include pictures. I'm guessing that it's full of Electrolytes - you know Plants crave it. Thanks for all the comments guys - it's been a fun build. I first built it properly, then grunged it down, then distressed it even further. Oh, and although no-ones mentioned the roof it's actually two old Train Metro Station platform pieces from the 1990's.

Looks like an interesting project and competition. Keep us posted.

The economic downturn in my City is continuing relentlessly and with the Octan Fracking Company causing local earthquakes one factory closes its doors and moves operations elsewhere. It looks like one of the Gas Tanks they were moving inside slipped off its chain and smashed the concrete and it's just been abandoned They've sealed the Front door with a wooden plank stuffed behind the broken down pipe and nailed into the cement walls. Unfinished wheel hubs and corrugated piping lie around . Inside the main entrance thieves have stolen the bathroom door At the rear some of the railroad tracks have been removed And there's a mysterious leak from the storage tank And there's an interior on the Factory floor And an interior upstairs - just a couple of empty offices, some packing crates and the obligatory rat Hope you enjoy it! Criticism and comments most welcome.

Getting to the stage of being able to present the combined sets added an extra dimension to this excellent challenge! Thanks to the organisers, thanks to all the competitors, thanks to everyone who voted and congratulations to the worthy winners.
-
Superb! And that rock detail is flawlessly executed.
-
Then those are the bastards responsible for the earthquakes that have been striking my Lego town recently! Seriously though these sets might be enough to pull in a new audience of Train fans. And for that I'm grateful for them.

It looks like a good start, but perhaps consider using some more texture/relief to the walls by insetting the windows a half stud (using the 1x2 jumper plate) and adding some columns around the window frames. How about a piano/organ inside? Possibly a tower as well?

Good review of a classic set. Lego has come a long way since 1979.

Excellent thread, full of some great ideas. I'm looking forward to the remaining months!
