  1. Agreed, impressive model!
  2. WOW, this looks insanely awesome! Well done!!!
  3. I rode a ferry in Turkey and I like how the set has some resemblance to it. Even though it has a lot missing. But that's where MOD comes in. I plan on buying two and making a large one.
  4. I am impressed with the pop star house, and really dig the super market. The ice cream shop comes at a close third. Especially considering how you'll never find this much detail or awesomeness in a CITY set.
  5. My standard is a hybrid between a realistic and an operations value. The FEC and CSX locomotives I have constructed over the last two years have some really dodgy techniques built into them. But on the other hand, just so I can run them efficiently, they have four axles that make them able to negotiate the curves and power up using the stock Power Functions components whereas they would realistically be 6-axle motors. It is all about balance on my end. Honestly, it depends on what you have in mind, if you want prototype looking trains you can take the initiative, otherwise if you want something simpler you can easily go in that direction too.
  6. I've done it for the better of the last 14 years, and since last year's was a very lazy effort, I decided to go all out this year. Hell, I had to considering all the trains I had built in the last 6 months. Here's a teaser photo
  7. Thanks for the heads up. Was going to order supplies including expensive PF batt boxes for my GEVOs later on, but pushed up to today.
  8. I'm not even done with the 2015 roll of MOCs yet! 2016 should bring some autoracks, 53ft and 40ft intermodal platforms in 7 wide, gondolas, a tanker or two, and time permitting, Tri-Rail. And a redo of my FEC SD40-2 to incorporate BLO and match my new GEVOs. Oh, and an All Aboard Florida passenger trainset or two.
  9. Thanks!! I agree, These engines are on almost every train with the FEC and I never get bored of them, the livery is that aesthetically pleasing. Though, the FEC is a Class 1 in a Class 2's body ;). Thank you guys!
  10. This is flat out awesome!
  11. Finally added to my home railroad's fleet with the completion of two FEC ES44C4 locomotives. These are GE locomotives in the Evolution series with 4 working axles out of 6 (even though I only did 4 so I can run them) and they look stunning in real life. Once decals are done, these will be numbered #808 and #822. Enjoy!
  12. This looks insanely awesome! Nice!
  13. I should stop by my store and build them one of these lol.
  14. I agree, and it seems to be why AFOL really want better turning radius. I would say the Maersk is too high, I built a Florida East Coast motor with the same design and it sits pretty tall. My big 6 axle motors like to hang around the 40-45 stud range.
  15. Thanks for the rundown, I find all a bit meh except for the ferry, a nice coincidence since I wanted to build one after riding one in Istanbul, Turkey in the summer.
  16. Holy smokes this looks phenomenal!
  17. Hey guys, just wanted to share this spur of the moment video, I finished a second CSX locomotive in PF so as would be the case I took to trying out the pulling power of two motors, and the results were pretty decent! Enjoy!
  18. Got what I wanted from the Spring PAM assortment last Saturday. Yellow double cheese, orange tiles, eyes, black 1x1 round plates, yellow 2x2 plates, and yellow 1x1 w. Stud on side. Filler side elements included brown, dark azure, and btpink brick with earth toned plates. Some medium blue 1x2 plates in the mix. As of today, the selection should cutover to the next quarter of models. My prediction is the green animal will be included. EDIT: Think these are the models: http://cache.lego.com/r/stores/-/media/brand%20retail/stores/calendar/april/q3_240x289.png?l.r2=-1501781935
  19. Nope, the sixth row counting upwards. This row is normally full at other LBR and was full at Orlando. Right now row #6 has paper inserts. When I saw it for myself, I was disgusted. Also I won't steal ACPin's thunder but I saw something else completely unnecessary and useless posted on the internet regarding the wall. At more expense to pickable bins.
  20. Orlando was out of parts for what looked like both models. And I noticed something else. Is Orlando the only store that deleted the sixth row from pickable selection? Now it is a really watered down wall.
  21. Nice "green haul"! Based on the PAM teasers, I think some of those are parts that will come in a future model so a little patience and we'll spam our cups with curved slopes.
  22. ^ Apparently they won't let you do that. But how can they enforce it goes beyond me. Many people won't tell the difference.
  23. Something tells me this will fail ultimately. Anyone with an eye in budgeting can tell that they're getting ripped just by looking at the volumes of the containers vs what they're being told to put in.
  24. Congratulations, LEGO now has an excuse to stop remarking about money losses from PAB. Because most of the target will be predisposed to those cute little models, they'll settle for the $.11-.15/part margins rather than for the obvious and viable <$.08/part margin. Thus a lot more to be made if it works. Meanwhile, there go 6-12 bins and the supposed freedom to choose from those bins for bulk. But I'm sure the regulars will find their way "around" . And as a matter of consequence, everyone will "follow" instructions just like Emmet. It would surprise me a lot less if they do away with PAB cups completely.
  25. Absolutely stunning! This coming from a Miami local!
