  1. Well done sir! Very nice classic meets modern design on the truck.
  2. Art runs in my family and I felt I would do a little nod to my mother's interests in Ceramics by building a MOC as a commemoration for her return from a short trip to Turkey which was a difficult trip but worked out well. It's also a shoutout of sorts to the people I know that do this regularly. This may be inserted into an art studio MOC which is why I am considering it City. I really enjoyed assembling such a dense MOC with all this detail. Nonetheless, might be a great idea for a Friends set, or a supplement to the design studios they have out.
  3. Better geometry, period. I want to build six axle horses. People lash at me for not making Talltim sliders and going 4 axle, LOL.
  4. Thought I'd share a little product proposal for your other half for Valentines Day.... Goes well with the bear/heart set too :D ... Video has how to build it as well.
  5. Purchased in the past, either first or second hand (thrift) 4511, 4512, 4513, 4514 - new from LEGO 4533 - thrift 4534 - engine only, platform 4539 4556 4557 4559 - engine, first car and boom gates 4561 x2 4565 3226? 7898 10013 10015 10014 10017 10020 10027 10128 10133 x2 10170 x3 10219 The most important part - the MOCs... Current roster, 3 CSX engines, 1 FEC engine.
  6. How about a Lithium rechargeable battery box? For $37 extra, you end up saving the costs of gas to the store and for the new batteries, etc. It'll probably last a couple of years which means 100s of dollars in savings. I have been a longtime 9V operator but am fixing to cut over to PF. I have dead motors to fix but other than that I want to be able to run on pretty much any layout. My LUG has been running PF at shows on top of the 9V system and we've had minimal complaints. My motors have hated the layouts also and stalled in 9V so I feel like PF will give my power runtime in anything.
  7. Not a big deal what so ever, lol. Yes, it's specific, for "High" Traction motors. Great guess. Thanks! ;)
  8. It's finished! CSX ES44AH Here's the video of the finished model:
  9. So... what am I building? Clues will be given out as the MOC progresses.
  10. Apologies for the double-post, but as a pivotal update, here's the awaited video of the whole Starbucks coffeeshop!!
  11. Definitely something I think I'll pass on, but it's got good playability. The finish on some of the buildings, however comes across as sloppy. For instance the white 1x4 w/ 2 studs on pink... why not make them pink? Budget? Also the MdAzure in the building looks to be a bit messy. The 41036 looks to be better designed, but not so exciting. 2013 was the best year after all, with the glory continuing to the winter wave this year. But these set, I am simply not crazy for, and I fear these might not sell as well. But for my purposes, the cool yellow 1x1 and 1x2x3 slope inverts are things I am looking forward to having, either first or second hand.
  12. Thanks again! The video is on its way for the CoffeeHouse itself... Here's a pic. I have several up on my Flickr, but don't want to spoil it all out so no peeking ;)
  13. Thanks guys! Update: How to do the Mastrena is up:
  14. I LOVE IT! The cargo train is awesome! Looks like FlYelOrange on the engine too, based on the hues of yellow seen. First thing I was thinking was also 4555. The blue flat is also backwards compatible with the 1990s containers too. Can't wait! I'm also digging the station. Love those curved slopes.
  15. Thanks! Well, they're not up yet... but will be very soon! I'll embed them once posted.
  16. Yes, I'm a coffee-holic... and I really like Starbucks. I built several versions over the years... The 2010 one is the most successful and standing... and it got a facelift. But before I reveal that one I want to share the video of one of the most intricate and time consuming mini builds... the Mastrena espresso machine! It's a replica of two small machines... They're automatic tamp and grind... and make good espresso. And yes, lots of us play with the steam wands from time to time... my barista friends did a Harlem Shake with the thing steaming once... but never recorded it lol. PART II will be the video reveal of the Starbucks itself.
  17. The new nose piece is nice but very.... er.... playmobil-ish... Sleek but not what I would define as system. Looks like my wallet won't be crying for this year's trains. With my custom CSX trains and swing over to PF, I think I have my hands full anyway. :P
  18. Awesome! Digging that Cool Yellow 1x1x3!! The fountain is also genius!
  19. The only solid colors historically that I know of were yellow and black, but only between 2005 and 2009; I got some good stock in '08 in both colors.
  20. Thanks... and Nope! Thanks man! Some of us with some help from up nawth have tried to start one, we had a couple enthusiastic people, but nothing materialized. The effort would be (so creatively) named FLUG, Florida LEGO Users Group. I even had a name badge piece custom embroidered to motivate it by having my member tag read GFLUG/FLUG, but nothing developed. The Flickr pool for FLUG can be found here. We can always meet up and work something out for this. I would be thinking a more appropriate name would be SFLUG, South Florida LUG, but not sure atm. http://www.flickr.com/groups/floridalug/pool/with/5932249463/
  21. Thanks! GFLUG member Robin W. has it posted on to Flickr here... the Tampa area and several others is usually constant throughout several shows so you'll see similar stuff: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13289936@N07/11722452404/in/set-72157639335048295
  22. Here is video of the Greater Florida LEGO Users Group display at the Tampa, FL Train Show. The style is much unlike my older videos as it revolves around a round-the-track cabride. ENJOY! I highly recommend some Dance music with it, namely "In My Mind" my Ivan Gough, to be synchronized with it both starting at the 0:00 mark, because it flows well.
  23. The only way I see this ship lasting long is the fact LEGO switched the blue over to their new Medium Azure... which is a good thing since it's a brighter color... rather than the more rare Maersk "Pastel" Blue. I personally would prefer the boat... guess that is due to the fact I live in South Florida and in a city with such a port as PortMiami which is having its "largest expansion" yet. But the PR is awesome too, and I will be looking to get both sets.
  24. Friends Beach House City: Auto Transporter?- maybe Freight train Passenger station Maybe a snow set or two Creator: the modular Simpsons House Parisian Restuarant surprised no one mentioned this - Maersk Triple E :D Lots of loose bricks and pieces
