  1. Is it wrong to be buying the parts individually when the seller sells them as complete? Well, let's put it this way... Is it wrong to sell the 'complete' model for more when you are also selling the parts that could make it? Of course it isn't either way, it is simply smart selling/buying. You buy whatever works out cheapest for you! And enjoy building them in the meantime :)
  2. I dont think you quite understand what he was getting at...
  3. I actually really like that! And it looks like it could help prevent dust building up so quick, while looking 100% lego. Absolutely love it!
  4. I will do, but Im working on other things, as well as life. So don't be expecting it anytime soon.
  5. Your opinion. You are entitled to it. The best thing about opinions is they are never right or wrong, they are just that-an opinion.
  6. Actually, they could have. At its current scale, it in no way captures the sleekness of the Naboo Starfighter, nor is the yellow sticker on the front giving the correct angle/amount of silver curve correct. It's a sticker for christ's sake, how could they get it THAT wrong and make the amount that excessive when they can literally change it to be perfect due to the dynamics of it being a sticker??! Nor is the cockpit canopy black. That ruins the look, let alone it barely JUST resembles it. The rear? Lacking in sleekness and gentle reduction in size COMPLETELY. They wanted to do the N1 as a UCS, they 100% chose the wrong scale. Hell, why not just add a chrome dome to R2D2 minifig and call him UCS. I mean, that would literally be suitable going by the same process as the 10026. I am not saying 10026 is worthy or not of the UCS label, TLG gave it to it regardless, so it unarguably is. I am simply saying it is lacking a high amount of detail that one would 'typically expect' in a UCS set, and could have captured detail at a larger size.
  7. That's by no means anything new, and I seriously doubt it will be anything close to it in terms of building style, only by the fact they will both be trying to achieve the same end result.
  8. To be honest, your best bet is to literally decide for yourself. This is a never ending debate with no true answer other than what specifically says ucs on the box. Peoples opinions of what is and what is not ucs are just that-opinions, no matter what words they use to justify it one way or the other. The way I see it (my opinion) is that UCS has been adapted to suit the market. 10026 is nowhere near good enough to be classed as ucs, as some people are claiming high detail to be part of the ucs requirement. It iI a good midi set, thats it, in my opinion. It doesnt follow typical ucs characteristics... but that is where the problem is. People taking ucs and interpreting it to what they think it means. At the end of the day, you will not get an answer everyone agrees on. You are going to have to decide yourself what you think means ucs and apply it like that, or just get sets with ucs on the box for peace of mind technically speaking. Its down to you.
  9. Looking forward to it, and am ready to be impressed :P
  10. You could... almost... fit... inside... him! Do it! =D You could make it so you could hinge the rear so you can open the back up, step inside, and then walk around... then step out, hinge it closed and wallah! transported while looking cool :P
  11. I like what you have done with the head, I do think perhaps the viewport might be slightly too large and perhaps cheese slopes might be better, but nevertheless it still looks nice. I know that building the body and having it come together is one of the most fun parts and it does look like its coming together nicely! I do like seeing ATAT's being done so I look forward to seeing this done and how it compares differently with anios version.
  12. Hey guys, Im looking to go to Legoland Denmark end of September/start of October time. Problem is where to stay, and for a good price. Does anyone have any good suggestions as to where to stay? Preferably within a short taxi ride/walking distance. We are looking for good room facilities (the usual- kettle etc) B&B is ideal, but not essential. Shops nearby to buy food would be good. On the off chance, a nice little restaurant to go out to eat in the evening might be ideal as well, but not essential. Anyone with any experience with any of this? Kind regards, Sam
  13. It's ok, it has it's anti grav thrusters on.
  14. The lower half of the mini is done really well, with good attention to detail, until you get to the upper half where the pillars/windows/roof are. Then it simply looks like the upper half of a Land Rover Defender and to be honest, completely out of place on this model. I don't know why no one has pointed it out, especially those who have owned one. It feels like the designers have had so much motivation to design it until they got to that part, and then simply gave up and reverted to such a basic solution that would simply 'do'. I love minis, and really wish they would have done the upper half better as that would have made it an instant buy for me...
  15. Not sure what to suggest really... but I recently watched this film for the first time, and I'm loving this WiP!!
  16. The tree 'texture' looks absolutely fine! However, I think it looks just a little too square perhaps? I do like the rest of the shrubbery though!
  17. Im hoping it's release will drive prices of the last one as just from looks, I think the old one was better and would like to get it... Then id get the new one too :D
  18. Wow, seeing those comparison pics... Other than the super structure on top of the old one, the new one is disappointingly small!
  19. I just dont understand this at all. Why the US gets really good offers relatively frequently while we get one or maybe 2 time offers per year of 40% off, 50% off once in a blue moon and usually not for long at all, not to mention never in the lego store (worth while unless an exclusive fig is involved) for SW...
  20. Youll barely use anything else again! Its soo useful that ive never looked back
  21. Oh brilliant! You are going with a full interior as well from the looks of it? Keep us posted on the progress, I look forward to it!
  22. The inclusion of a trade federation worker droid clearly indicates (to me at least) it will be predominantly a trade federation set =D So here's hoping it is a new MTT!
  23. They are not laugh tracks, there really is an audience. Perhaps a little too much forced laughter, but definitely not dubbed. I do however love the fact they referenced the Death Star Lego set in this, me and my girlfriend both looked at each other with a big grin when it came on!
  24. This looks really good! I do see potential for the ability to make the elephants rise up and down (if they don't already? I can't see how they can at this point in time?) with the simple addition of either some cheese slopes and tiles just outside the square of technic in as much of a circle shape as possible, or with the use of some 1x3 sloping bricks, allowing the technic beams to simply rest on them rather than the string holding them up? Either way, such a novel idea! *edit* Oh my, such a simple idea, I have just seen how you have offset the central point with the thick 1x2 technic beam making them rise up and down. Nice job!
