  1. Im quite lucky to have all 4, With regards to the first 2, Id personally go the Jedi Defender. I feel it has better minifigs, (yes, the republic frigate has wolf pack, but if you dont find them *that* great, I think the Defender has better figs. I also feel it has a better playability. Literally every space on the ship has some sort of play feature, while it also looks a really good ship to just display as it is. For the second 2, Id say emperor palpatines shutte, partly because the republic shuttles interior seems more cluttered and squeezed in, but I think the folding wings and the landing gear of palps shuttle are better as well, whereas the attack shuttle has these blocky looking things for landing gear which are literally just bricks. The exteriors of both however, are exceptional.
  2. I would definitely recommend an Ewok village, Death Star, Sand crawler (dont have the sand crawler) Or the 10212 Shuttle if you can find one within the price range, or perhaps a second hand one, id be happy with that, it is a bloody good set. All are great sets/display pieces in their own right, as well as having great play value (well, the shuttle is at least swooshable, the SSD isnt practical to swoosh...). It depends what you really want it for, and what you like the look of most. Death Star may go out of production soon, who knows. Its been around long enough, who knows when it will get taken out of production
  3. YAY. That is all there is for me to say.
  4. Ahhh. They are available in white apparantly No excuse not to make this now
  5. You mean these? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61409
  6. That is because there can only be 1 sith apprentice, and 1 sith lord ;)
  7. Holy mother of Jeebus! Wow... Id kinda liked it to be wrapped up neatly in a book I can snuggle up to my gf with while reading Haha lol, thank you very much HJR, I'll get reading that asap
  8. I almost hope so, means another chance at another character, as well as the hopefully-not-faked Darth Revan!
  9. Discussing darth revan in the rumours thread, EB member darth malgus summed him up in what appeared to be . Really interesting short summary that got my interest in him. Ive not read any of the EU stuff, iI there a book specifically following revan that literally tells his whole story?
  10. DEspite not following EU, I knew of mara jade long before revan. That doesnt make her more popular choice or whatever, it only means I played world of warcraft and got to know someone whos character name was marajade but didnt bump into someone called revan. Im pretty surw I could search the list of names of characters on my realm and find a revan/darthrevan too. Awareness speaks no volumes as it can all be coincidencial luck about situation and timing too. Had I not done a certain dungeon at a certain time, id probably not have bumped into them and therefore have no knowledge. Its not just about pure awareness.
  11. Although I have not read much into the EU, looking (googling) at all the characters you mentioned Brickdoctor, I'd most definitely have chosen Darth Revan. I love the sith minifigs as they always look excellently done, highly detailed, menacing, and just completely different than something that looks like its had a few torso/leg/head swaps to make a new character. I personally find the sith characters to be exceptionally unique, while the Jedi minifigs to 'just' be unique... Now if it was which character would I prefer a poster on my bedroom wall of... that would change it completely to either Mara Jade or Bastilla Shan
  12. This is my favourite ship from star wars. I have the ucs version which is brilliant in itself, but yours! Yours iI just amazing! It even has an interior too and looks to be closer to minifig scale! Are there more pictures of the interior? Do the wings fold as well as the official version?
  13. N8thanAshley, you need to learn how to be respectful more. Its not about lightening up or getting out more. Its about the fact you are coming off as an antagonising disrespectful little s**t of a keyboard warrior that I seriously doubt you actually 'have a pair' yourself to be like this to someone in the real world who would quite rightfully stand up to you and put you in your place one way or another. I know lego is aimed at children, but you're not even coming across as a child, but some spoilt little brat that doesn't understand how to appreciate common courtesy. On another note, @Legoman: They have already 'updated' the X-Wing so we are already seeing the potential start of updates (I doubt they'll ever actually re-release). In all honesty, I'm of mixed feelings about it, if it were to be true. As others have mentioned, it could potentially cost a bucketload, but if they were to reduce the piece count, I'm not sure I'd be able to enjoy it at anything less than the previous scale. And I can't see how they could make one at least the same size and detail while reducing the part count by 2000 bricks :(
  14. I think this looks really nice! But if you are trying to keep it the same as the reference material, perhaps make the upper portion of the roof steeper and taller? Other than that, it looks really nice, and such a nice building to replicate too!
  15. I don't understand it. Why couldn't TLG release one just like this??! This is by far much better, and has a very good piece count to it as well. Add 2 flick fire missiles to it and you have yourself a TLG worthy set The angles are really sleek and the length looks very proportionate to how it should be. Great job :)
  16. I really don't think there is a need for that tone. And if you are implying he is young, or a child by his statement, you seem to forget Lego is aimed AT children <.>
  17. Thankfully I have a girlfriend that is into lego as well =D So when we move out and get our own place, we have decided we are having a lego room, with probably lego dotted around the house :P For the time being, we are putting up extra shelves in our room while keeping out the sets that we really like, and boxing up the ones that we do like, but arent too fussed about putting away for the time being. Oh... I also have a bucket load of sets at my mums in my old room... and in her loft too... And i got her into it and her kitchen window sill is covered with CMF minifigs
  18. I really like it! Its quite cute :P It reminds me of the Exploriens :) So simple and minimal, yet effective as a land rover.
  19. These are absolutely amazing! Not only the fact they look really well built, pretty accurate for their size... But also the fact you have managed the ability to include the figures while not compromising their shapes! Totally impressed, and would love to make that Y-Wing when available as ldd file. totally in love with them :-D
  20. Same, looks really good! But perhaps use 2x4 wedge plates instead of the 2x3s?
  21. I've always wanted a minifig/system scale set of this as I think it is such a nice vehicle. Seeing your's as a UCS version, it looks exceptionally well done! Im not one for tiles, I like the use of the studs to ease the curved look. I can understand how tiles would probably make it look a 'blocky sloped' effect rather than a smooth sloped transition, so great job on that! I also thought about the barrels and looking at your problem with it, I'd say you did a good compromise. There may be a way of sorting it out, maybe not, who knows, until something else comes along. But for now? Id certainly be happy with it exactly how it is. As also mentioned, the interior is good and doesn't look too busy. Seeing this has made me think that perhaps a republic fighter tank might be next on the cards for your UCS version? After seeing this AAT, I'm pretty sure you could do a republic fighter tank justice!
  22. Haha yeah... I meant the other way round
  23. Where is your source for this information? I'm sorry, but you can't make such a solid assumption when there is no real situation where they would bring Tuskens into a playset as they had very little presence, other than when they attack Luke in ANH and when Anakin kills a bunch of them for attacking his mother. The latter is clearly not going to be a set, and the Luke attack won't be a set because there is nothing to it. So unless they do a BP for them, if they feel they want to include them because they feel they deserve some sort of release, then there is NO reason why they can't be released as an enemy (as they were) of the Jawas. You forget Lego is all about imagination. Tusken raiders *could* attack the sand crawler at any point as they are on the same planet after all, and imagination permitting, could have previously attacked many times. Lego is not called Lore-go. You might not be upset or hating, but you are appearing 'touchy' the fact someone has a different opinion than your own *opinion*, as that is all that it is, regardless of whether you end up being right or wrong. With regards to the possible release of a new 'UCS' style MF, I welcome it with open arms, just hope if it is true, they include an interior!
  24. Hi guys, this is my first non Star Wars moc, and to be honest, I think only about my 4th unique MoC altogether! Anyways, I've managed to get my mum into the CMF's and she gets them without me pushing her to or anything, she loves all their individuality and often the suited minifigs like the chicken, bumble bee, rabbit etc. Well, I struggled to figure out what to get her for Christmas as I usually get her something and it often didn't get used or whatever... Im sure you know how it is! Each year it got more and more difficult. Then I had an idea! I knew one of her favourite CMFs was the gingerbread man so I figured, I'd design her a house to go with it that she would have to build! So, after spending about a month or so designing it on LDD, I started ordering the parts, packed them tightly in a small box and subsequently wrapped it up, and gave it to her on Christmas day. She only saw a box of random lego bits! So I showed her the printed instructions from LDD I had done (Stupid LDD instructional priorities!) She seemed quite happy with it, but everyone knows the best thing is building and seeing the finished article in real bricks! So I went round to hers for a couple of weekends, and to be honest, she did really well building it, just a couple hiccups due to LDDs not quite so good instructions... but when it was finished, she was well pleased with it! I know it's quite simple and nothing extravagent, but I was working with a budget, a time limit and also a lack of experience in doing houses or anything like this So, in all its gingery glory, here it is: Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr Lego Gingerbread house by Daft Vader1, on Flickr
  25. Probably shooting myself in the foot here! But I just went into Toys R Us after having reserved an order of 2x TC-4s, a microfighter Xwing and a small lego friends set (for my gf ) (with the hope that it puts the total Star Wars value above £10) and when I went to collect it, it didn't automatically give me a free TC-4 (a 3rd one), they had to manually input some code to make it free. It is possible the TC-4's don't count towards the value of SW lego...? So firstly, keep an eye out for that happening to you. Secondly, once I was there, I asked if it was possible to buy a couple more TC-4s, and they were fine with it. So, it may entirely be possible to just reserve 2, go to collect in store, and then buy as many as you want. The woman with authority said I could potentially buy as many as I wanted. She did say 'I would only get one free for 'every £10 spent on SW lego'... that may be down to her interpretation of the rules of them... but it may be possible to buy 5, get a 6th free and so on... (They're 2.49 so not quite getting away with 4 for £10...)
