This looks fantastic! It would be great to see it in real bricks, but that looks as a very expensive project. Good luck with building it!

DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batmanâ„¢ Classic TV Series - Batcave
Redhead1982 replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not a Batman fan, so I'm not excited about the set. The Batcave is just a (man)cave to me. However, I wouldn't mind having the Batman's room with that gorgeous wallpaper. -

Nice MOD. It looks cute. Do you think you could make it a bit larger (wider, perhaps) to fit in with the modular buildings? As for the open access, you could use hinges on the back wall with one stud inset, so it wouldn't interfere with neighboring buildings.

This looks very Paradisa-like, and I like it even more than the Paradisa (from pictures, as I never had those sets). The colours are lovely, and they help to create the right atmosphere. The rounded large windows are a great detail, and make it easier to see the inside. The sign is great as well. All in all, it's a great and somewhat nostalgic build. Well done.

You should go ahead as Peppermint_M suggested, and simply use a contrasting bricks for the corners. Maybe you could use some snoting and make the corners with more details on. Just try different combinations on a smaller corner wall and see how you feel about it.

I didn't read the title at first, and thought you made a wooden garage for the car. We don't have covered bridges here, so that was a bit of a surprise. The idea is nice, and the bridge walls are great looking. I like how you included two different designs for the trees, however I prefer the round one more. Well done!

Nice scene. The boxes with elastic bands are my favourite detail.

Thanks for the comments. I understand what you mean, but I felt more decorations would be too much for such a small station. Not all buildings are busy with Christmas decorations. I was thinking of adding a second lamp post to the platform and hang some lights, but it looked a bit too much to me, so I removed it. Well, sand green is one of my favourite color, and it's a 'happy' one for me.

I like the color combination of the exterior of the chalet. It looks great together .On the other side, the interior is well built as well. I like the cookie selling booth as well as the ice-skate sharpening booth. The angled floor looks great.

This is different to what is expected for winter theme. The ship is not a typical winter transport, but it works ok. I was really surprised to see the cabin can be removed, and opened up for easy access. It sure looks very playfull. The open cardboxes are a nice detail.

This is an interesting building. I like the holiday ornaments on the roof. I hope the postman is not feeling too hot in Santa's clothes pedalling his 'Rudolph bicycle'.

The fence on the ice-skate ring is my favourite detail. The chimney looks a bit off, are you sure it's not a danger for the people hanging around the shop? It sure looks it's about to fall off.

My entry to the Expand the Winter Village Contest VI is a WV Train Station. I bought the sand green roof and pllates a couple years ago with a small rural train station in mind, and I finally found enough time and motivation to actually build it. The station lies in a rural area, and is not highly frequented, so the one platform is sufficient for all the train stopping at the station. Close to the station is a semaphore signalling post. The station is built from the rock found in a near by quarry. Inside the station there's a table used as a ticket booth. Behind the table is a small wood burning furnace to keep the place warm in the winters. On the other side there's a bench for the passenger, and a small Christmas tree put up by the two employees of the station. More pictures can be found on my Flickr.

Oh no, not another great entry! It will be really hard to pick just a few for the voting. What I like the most is the busy scene with so many people - arriving, chating, dancing and having fun. The building is interestingly designed, and the colours add a nice touch. Well done.

Winter Village: Victorian Era Tools and Candy Stores
Redhead1982 replied to MacGyver's topic in LEGO Town
You did a great job creating this very busy scene with a rather limited selection of parts. The hardware store's front window looks beautiful, however my favourite part is the candy store interiors. I have a bit of sweet tooth. -
This is another lovely entry to the WV contest. I like the colors and the geometry of the building. The tree is also interestingly built. Well done.

I think you did a great job. It looks lovely. My favourite details is the brick-built support at the entrance. Was it standard to have skylights in this type of buildings?
-
This is one of my favourite entries so far. I like the bright colour scheme, as it really pops out, and the theme of the building has the right spirit. If not around Christmas, when should one enjoy sugar treats. The details around the doors are lovely, specially the Unikitty tails. Well done.

Nice train. It reminds me a bit of the TLG's version from years back, and I wouldn't mind a train to be re-released. The cars are nicely detailed, specially the red one as it looks it has a face on. Great entry.

Thanks for your comment, JDV. I should probably take some picture with the official sets, too. Juniors Supermarket set is pricey, but it's very playful and good as a starting material for larger store. Thanks, Rick. I started the guide simply to stay in touch with the bricks, as I was half way through the maternity leave, and I knew I wouldn't be able to build every night or even every weak. On top of it, I had questions, mostly from my sister, about the building tips, so I thougth it might be interesting to actually document the building process.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Redhead1982 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree completely. I own CC, I bricklinked it when it wasn't so expensive yet. However, I wouldn't mind a re-release of an updated CC. It would be a nice way to celebrate the anniversary, and a good chance for many to buy the set. I don't think it would affect the resellers so much, as they seem to sell MISB for huge profits. I might buy the re-release, depending on the improvements and price, but could easily live on without getting a new building (I might use the extra money left to get a second copy of the Brick Bank though). -
The Heartlake supermarket set is on my wish list, too. I like the new printed parts (sushi and cookies), as well as those 1x2 panels with sides. On the other hand, Livi's house didn't convince me, although it looked promising when the first pictures appeared. Thanks for the review, Soupperson1.
