I saw the Adventurers connection instantly, well done on adapting a great set into a great MOC. I love the large lamp design at the back, I'll definitely be using that in future. I also think you've done a great job making the junk look more pirate-y and I think the brink built sails are well done. Have you tried adding the red stipes to the antistud side? My only other comments would be to try and stick to just yellow or gold. I would personally stick to gold, making the six telescope pieces on the sides black though so they stay in line with the rail and supports. I like the simple figurehead but maybe a few more small Bricks could make it look more like a bird or human which would be more interesting without becoming too bulky.

I really like the overall look of this MOC, but there are a few things I think could make it a little better. First as you're sticking with the minifig lineup from the original set, I think you have made the brig too long. The interior details of the office are great and should be kept, but the empty space at the end should be got rid of. This will make the minifigures fill the space better, and the set will be more in line shape wise with the original. I like the way the soldiers can move across the whole of the roof now, the bridge is great. I'd suggest adding cheese slopes, tiles or ingot bricks on top of the walls though to get rid of the studs there, and if you were to make the fort smaller, perhaps move to the smaller flag. You could also move the chest and barrels from the empty office space up on top of the fort to make them more protected and make the area more interesting. I think the addition of stairs is great, as that was a feature often missing in the old Lego forts, however the large staircase piece does mean that there is a lot of dead space in front of the fort, which is hard to fill due to the small population of minifigures. Using black bars as iron rungs, or brown ones as a wooden ladder against the wall I think would look better and save space. You could then make the sandy area Smaller, and overall cut down on a lot of parts which look nice but make the MOC too big to be Broadside's Brig.

I like that this is bigger than the original, and the smooth undercarriage and drawbar to move the weapon around is good, but it does miss the different height of the guns from the original. Could the clips be moved around slightly so that the outermost barrels be attached with modified 1x1 tile clips so they would be lower than the other three barrels? It would mean re-arranging the other supports and it may be more fragile but I think it would look better.

[ENTRY] 6260/6257 Pirates - Shipwreck Island/ Castaway's Raft Remake
Seaber replied to _R_R_'s topic in Pirate MOCs
I really like these two updated sets! Firstly the raft looks great and I really like the new placement of the lamp and newer angled flag piece creating a more ragged sail. The only improvements I think you could make are maybe adding a few woodgrain tiles to the plates down the middle of the raft, although you would lose some studs to pose minifigure this was, I think it would add to the ramshackle look of the craft. Also, you could consider the round 2x2 plate with tree trunk pattern on some or all of the ends of the trunks, rather than the 2x2 round jumpers. Lastly, you could try putting some dark tan or dark brown parts in the logs to break up the colour a bit, especially in the middle section where the three 2x2 round bricks looks a bit too smooth compared to the rest of the raft. You could also try using the 2x2 round brick with Technic hole for a change of texture. Onto the Island! Again I think this is a really nice update. The round slopes used look in keeping with POBB and so I think are wholly appropriate. I think the fire as some have mentioned before is the think that would bring the most improvement. As much as the 1x1 brick with four studs in trans orange is a nice idea, I think it makes the fire look too hot as I don't think the fire would be all that big. Try replacing with black or reddish brown and replace the 1x1 round Bricks with various reddish brown animal horns, sausages or the Harry Potter wand piece, all of which can be angled towards the base so the fire doesn't hover over the sand like it does now. Overall great job with just a couple of minor nit picks! -

A quick of for the forum team, is there any chance of a dark theme? All three themes available have a white background and if possible I think a theme with a black/dark background would be great.

He is seen outside Gringotts though, and so would be a good character to bulk out the 13 minifigures. I think the trio taking three spaces is obvious, for the other ten my guess is six Goblins - Griphook, Bogrod, Gringotts Head Goblin (the one in PS who serves Harry and Hagrid), Ricbert/Cheif Goblin Teller (the one that calls for Bogrod) and two further Goblins - hopefully we get a range of faces and hair colours to go with the Dark Grey we already have. The other four will be humans, 2x Wizard Guards, Mundungus Fletcher (for the above reason) and I'm hoping Bill Weasley, but would be content with just another denizen or goblin. I wish other DA buildings were included, I thought this would be a good place to include the Menagerie, but never mind

It's got the PoA onwards style Hospital Tower so no - it's based on the HBP castle with the clock tower cut off.
-
That's not the Clock Tower, that's the Entrance Hall leading on to the Great Hall.

There is a new City set based on the 2k Drive game that has two monster trucks facing off, one seems to be based on a luchador, the other is Pirate based. There is a tricorne (I think with tan hair), 2x2 pirate flag and one of those curved panel pieces for a sail with two crossed cutlasses. I think it's a sticker, but certainly useful.

I really love that Hogwarts set. I think I'll get that, part out my UCS Hogwarts, and keep the teeny tiny model as my display piece until I can start work on my moc. The Architect statue is great. I'd love to add further stutues inside Hogwarts using the golden Dumbledore and McGonnagall parts, but they're way to expensive. In regards to the castle, the most obvious omissions are the Clock Tower and Wooden Bridge, which I think could have been squeezed onto another row of 16 stud plates, meaning we could also have had Hagrid's Hut, the Owlery and some of the Forbidden Forest. The castle is clearly based on HBP (same as the UCS version) but has omitted most of the Training Grounds. Also, nice of Lego to go back to dark grey roofs

Is there a good place that keeps track of future GWPs/rumoured GWPs?

How about four Death Eater figures in a Death Eater Chest? Comes with many different styles of hood

Spell casting wands are duel molded.

With Lee Jordan off the list, we have an updated list of needed characters... PS (9): Alicia Spinnet, Tom, Dedalus Diggle, Doris Crockford, King's Cross Guard, Prof Vector, Bloody Baron, Fat Friar, Augusta Longbottom CoS (5): Millicent Bulstrode, Mr and Mrs Mason, Ernie MacMillain, Penelope Clearwater PoA (1): Aunt Marge GoF (6): Roger Davies, Barry Crouch sr, Prof Karkaroff, Amos Diggory, Frank Bruce, Eloise Midgen OotP(6): Mrs Figg, Zacharias Smith, Madam Bones, John Dawlish, Antonin Dolohov, Prof Grubbly-Plank HBP (8): Narcissa Malfoy, Amycus Carrow, Alecto Carrow, Thorfinn Rowle, Leanne, Katie Bell, Cormac McLaggen, Marcus Belby DH (9): Charity Burbage, Bill Weasley, Mundungus Fletcher, Elphius Doge, Rufus Scrimgeour, Xenophilius Lovegood, Aunt Muriel, Bathilda Bagshot, Dirk Cresswell With the Micro Hogwarts set I don't think there are any new figures coming, but with Gringotts there are some figures which are possible, but not a huge chance of new characters. I'm sure we'll get a repeat of PS Harry and Hagrid, a DH Harry, a new Ron is disguise, an updated Bellatrix and GOBLINS. I guess it depends if any other shops are included, but the Leaky Cauldron crowd are possible if that building appears. Mundungus Fletcher and Narcissa Malfoy are both seen in Diagon Alley and Bill Weasley works at Gringotts, so would be an appropriate inclusion even if he is never seen.

She was aged up to Harry's year (and Katie Bell aged down)

There has still not been a great version of the Great Hall, and the Grand Staircase Tower included have never been very grand, so I think next year they would be a key place to start. They'd have to be modular to some degree, as you could never have the whole of Hogwarts for sale at one time, but the rough tower design pattern from 2018-20 (perhaps that could open and close at the back rather than being open) and corridors and the connecting structures similar to 2021-23 would work well I think. I'd also love to see Troll in the Dungeon too.

Can anyone tell if Scabior has a red streak printed/painted on his hair piece?
-
On insta there is a photo of how they all connect together and the shaping is really good. On insta there is a photo of how they all connect together and the shaping is really good. One of the new BTS hairpieces looks to be in the Quidditch Trunk which is good, and I just noticed Ron's corned beef sandwiched in HE
-
I don't think Romilda is in that scene (or ever wearing that outfit), but could have appeared at Hogwarts or on the Hogwarts Express for HBP, DHI ans DHII sets. Yes, that hairpiece would have been perfect. I really hope it gets a recolour to black so the figure can be updated.
-
Looking at the Quidditch Trunk box art, it looks like there will be multiple heads and hair pieces included, and as all four figs have adult leg, hopefully they'll all be more grown up than the Hogwarts Turnk faces for variety. It also says there are three training games. One looks like a disk shooter you aim at the three goal hoops, not sure what the other two are.

Something that I think has been overlooked with the ambivalence to these sets is that piece to attach spells to wands looks pretty sturdy if it can hold the avada kedavra/expelliarmja energy pieces. I guess we'll get at least one extra/spare per set, I'm really looking forward to having some spells zooming out of wands. I reckon a Dumbledore vs Voldemort duel would make a great set now with this piece, maybe using one of those ninjago tornado pieces if the end could be attached somehow.
-
This one? I can sort of see it, but would have to see it on a minifig head as friends hair often looks quite different when on a mini doll. I'll be changing it to the potc hair until something better turns up - the Sirius Black hair is way off.
-
Hogwarts Express is a much better shape than the 2018 set, but it looks like it is missing side rods... The station and sign post look really good though. It's great to be getting the driver/crew in a cheaper set than the massive HE, and looks like Harry might be holding a coin which is nice (might we get more of these in the Gringotts vault GWP, as well as the D2C Gringotts?). Same Hagrid and Trolley Witch disappointing. If that's Lee Jordan then I'm glad we're finally getting him, but he deserves a better hairpiece than a recoloured Hobbit one. Awaiting confirmation on that. The Quidditch Trunk is basically what was expected which is good, it would have been improved by correct skirt/kama pieces rather than capes and a new Quaffle mold, but otherwise is as expected. Battle of Hogwarts looks good BUT that clock/portcullis piece is a sticker on one of those new arch /window pieces so will look ugly from behind. Scabior also needed the PotC hair piece, not the Sirius Black one, although it looks to be Reddish brown rather than dark brown. Expecto Patronum was always likely to be a bricklink the figures job, like Hedwig, but I think the build looks good. It just isn't for me. Eagerly awaiting Gringotts and anything else we are getting this year, Brickheads aside.

Looking at the D2C now the interior is really bland, I'll be adding details from this set is nothing else.
