Harry Potter 2003?

A proper Grand Staircase Tower and proper greenhouses I'd add to the list of wants for the new Hogwarts system, as these were not done very well before. I'd also love to see all four bridges well represented, the viaduct and wooden bridge would make great DHII sets for example.
-
I'd love to get the Harris Doubledoor with this hat mold. Otherwise yes there are loads of Gambons to get, many very similar but some subtle differences for variation.

Good points: Fang, Norbert, new pixie, new owls Grey roofs New connection system 4x non-house torsos New prints for the Trio, Hagrid, and another Harry one. Interesting Cho. Not sure about this one but are the Hippogriff and Owlery rat new colours? Great new prints/stickers Collectable portraits (4 if you get the whole wave) is a great alternative to chocolate frog cards. Also, it looks like the Boathouse set has a frog suggested to be Trevor? The back of the box shows Neville with a hidden green frog.

Pygmy Puff, not Puffskien, otherwise I agree Does anyone know if the same print on a different colour costs extra money? For example, could the Tan Owl print be repeated on, say, an Owl in Medium Brown coloured plastic, saving the cost of a new print?

I don't know, new variants for the five main Hobbits in their party clothes (and Bilbo with proper hobbit hair in grey rather than the swept back pice he had in Rivendell) and a new hat/hair mold for Gandalf. Plus Rosie Cotton, the Sackville-Baggins and Proudfoot as well as some generic Hobbits (wity the Hobbit hair piece in new colours like the three tans, orange, light and dark grey, and white) would be as good a line up as Barad-Dur, but Rivendell is always going the be the best location for figures as about half of the main 20 or so characters show up there.

Is the train kid's eye like Starlight Express? Either way, lovely series!- 574 replies

I don't think the Wild West has the interest it had 20-30 years ago, but a 3in1 set or Viking Village esque set would probably do quite well. Keep it law enforcement vs bandits with some townsfolk and ranchers - leave the cavalry and Native American parts out of it.

They're all the same according to bricklink

Much appreciated!

Probably a silly question but £100 of points would count to the threshold for this GWP right? I think now is the time to cash in...

Way too late. All three of mine had torso printing on both sides, but the arms round the wrong way. I used the extra two for more army of the dead figs, but upgrading the clock to sand green is way too expensive 🙄

Someone said the Werewolf By Night fig from the latest CMF would make a good Firenze from PS. Picked up one today to have a look. Here he is with just the head and hairpiece. And here with the Werewolf torso. And a comparison to the OotP centaurs from the Umbridge's Encounter set. I'd like to try the CMF Centaur body and Orc hairpiece on the centaurs, but I don't have either piece to hand.

Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
Seaber replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope Lego stick to updating classic factions (pre-KK1) and don't create new ones for a while. It looks likely that Dragon Knights will be in the GWP, which would be the fourth classic design to be updated if so. Wolfpack and Dark Forest would be my personal picks for the next factions to make a comeback, because they (as well as the returned Forestmen) have the most different looking base compared to the Lion Knight's castle. You could just change the banners and shields for that to make it a castle for the Black Falcons or any of the 2000 onwards factions. -
Are we expecting the GWP to be free with ANY purchases over a certain amount, or just one particular theme/group of sets?

I was thinking about some future figures, and I really hope any Bill Weasley figure we get use the Sirius Black hairpiece in Dark Orange rather than the Dastan piece I think we may already get. It's already been used in Dark Orange in this theme on Ron and Wormtongue, and likely any GoF Fred and George without their hats. The piece has also been used on Snape, Borgin and three different colours for Tonks, so it would be nice to see some variation.

Shows how good that original Viking set was that there was barely any need to upgrade to the design 8 years later with the Hobbit set, and 18 years after it was initially released it's still a great looking model.

Just done a quick count so may be one or two out, but so far (including polyjuice potions, disguises, etc, but not the gold figs) we've had 46 Harry, 26 Ron, and 30 Hermione variants. Not bad for six years!

I would struggle to think of a place for the Longbottoms, but I guess Charlie in a Weasley based set would make sense. It would be good to get the Fad Lady as a figure, perhaps in a brick built frame, but again not going to hold my breath on these ones :) Lily and James were my first thought too, but even as photos they were very prominent - unlike the Longbottoms and Charlie.

Aragorn appeared in 4 sets, 2 variants. Gandalf appeared in 7 sets, 2 variants (basically). Indy, Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter from a few years previous are worse offenders I think, however Galdalf is the big one for LOTR above Aragorn. I think we're basically saying the same thing lol. I suppose they could include the armour and dirty torsos for the Hobbit you could swap in. There were 30 new minifig prints in Rivendell, not including the short legs and sitting skirt pieces, and so hopefully that budget could be moved around for new molds. Something Lego is excelling at now which it wasn't so much in 2012-14 is big location based sets, which is much more what LOTR is about, rather than vehicles.

I like the look of the set, but unless that torso print is new, it's not of much interest to me I'm afraid. It looks like it may be the one from the Creator Pirate Ship set though, will have to await more detailed photos.
-
Oh, I wasn't suggesting it would be a problem for the ragged clothes prints, that should be expected, it's the armour I was talking about which is not so certain.

Nice to see the lists combined, just a quick explanation on why some are missing from mine - Firenze I had along with the goblins as they are not humans, however the list is now so small I may as well include him in the PS characters. Fat Lady, the Longbottoms and Charlie Weasley only appear in photos or paintings, so I'm not expecting figures of them. Winky and Terry Boot I don't think actually appear. There are a couple of house elves in GoF but no evidence of either being Winky and Terry Boot is sort of in the background in PS, but is far more background than say Susan Bones or Hannah Abbott. Bem, Nigel and the Waitress are all film introduced characters that aren't in the books, and there was no real indication they'd be included, however with the Owl Post Worker who isn't even in the films, I guess these are now possible, however the list is large with Pike and Kellah and several others so I was still planning to omit these for now. Mr and Mrs Granger and Housekeeping Witch - these I forgot! I'll add them, I like that and future Leaky Cauldron set gets another possible minifig. There is also the witch who asks Harry if he's lost in Knockturn Alley. Yeah, I agree about the different ages, however the list is just to keep a running total of which characters have or have not appeared to date. Many students often change a lot over the course of the eight films, not just different haircuts but facially too, so a variant tracker would be useful but a big job! Most adult characters look the same throughout, with some exceptions (Flitwick, Tonks 😁) In the films, five non-students change actor - Dumbledore (got both), Bozo/Daily Prophet photographer (got the one from CoS), Tom the Barman (got neither), the Trolley Witch (got the one from PS) and Aberforth (got the one from DH). Some Death Eater and Order members were also played by background actors and recast but that's for a much deeper dive into the background players which I don't have time to do yet 🙂

Rivendell had the weapons pack, elf hair, Gimli helmet, dwarf beard, and the fern piece as new elements, and a few recolours. I'm not sure what to expect from Barad Dur, but I'd hope for Frodo and Sam to have Orc helmets and dirty clothes, and Sauron to have a new helmet at the very least - I'm not sure if there are any existing pieces which would work as armour for these three figures, or if new ones would have to be made. Orc Hair, Gollum body and Gollum arms have all been out of production for a long time. An Orcish weapon pack would be great though with 6 or so different pieces.

A 'UCS' Hogwarts that is formed of just the most famous part - the Great Hall and Grand Staircase Tower would be my pick for a future large build. It could be minifig compatible with over 20 figures, including various different rooms in the tower section above the staircases and being able to change the set up in the Great Hall (Welcome Feast, Halloween, Christmas, House Cup, Duelling Club, etc)
