Very much so! To keep them interesting, Harry and Ron take their jackets off later in the ball for a new variant for 2/3 of the trio. We got the jacketless Harry back in the old 2010 line. McGonagall and Moody too!
-
I was thinking of Fred and George's Weasley jumpers (Percy wears one too but it's barely seen) and Hagrid's fluffy coat from PS would make good new figures.
-
Cheers, it was a very good idea, thanks got pointing it out!
-
I would love Grimmauld Place or Christmas at the Burrow - neither are particularly fun but would have good figures. Fully expect Lego to go for a Christmas in films 1-4 and tbh as long as the calender is good I don't think it matters now if there are no new characters, as long as the builds are good and their are variants of exists minifigs.

Uh, no, she did not. She was in this outfit in the last set. Fleur also wears the Beauxbatons jacket, as Gabrielle was wearing in the original post at times.
-
I agree it should be one of those, I wouldn't be opposed to this variant though if it came down to it.

All six ghosts L-R Moaning Myrtle, Nearly Headless Nick, Bloody Baron, Fat Friar, Professor Binns, Grey Lady. Myrtle hasn't changed, Nick has the old Harry hair in lbg and a white ruff. The Baron has the Unkar henchman torso and legs, with the face of the 1920s CMS detective and CMS Judge wig. The Fat Friar has the old Gandalf torso, with the cheerful CMS mime face and Ron's old hairpiece in black - I'd much prefer this in lbg. Prof Binns used the very old Peeves torso which doesn't quite work in the old grey colour, a face from the BAM tower and a white turban, again I would prefer this in grey. Lastly, Helena Ravenclaw is the same that came in the set.

Yes, they look like they will be connecting with clips. I personally prefer clips but they would be very easy to swap for pins if that's your preference as its just swapping out the 1x2 with clip for a 1x2 with Technic hole and if you have any of the older sets you should have enough spares of the Technic pins to be okay.

Great Hall is set up for Halloween Feast, with floating pumpkins above four tables. The Bloody Baron and Fat Friar are swooping between the pumpkins, while Dumbledore with new hat mold talks to Madam Hooch with new hat mold and Vector . Quirrell, with new torso print variant, bursts in to announce there is a troll in the dungeon! Below the great hall the Trio with nee dusty robe prints battle a new molded troll.

Well, yes, they're needed in the sense that without them we would not have a complete minifig line up as the list shows, but no, they won't be top of many people's 'most wanted' lists if Narcissa, Bill Weasley, and characters like them are still missing. It's not a wishlist! We are at the stage where we are below 50 characters remaining until they have all been ticked off the list now. A good thing is we are getting named extras like the Flower Witch, Malkin, etc to expand the selection of figures beyond the credited roles in the films, while slowly but surely filling in the blanks both of new characters and new variants. I'm looking forward to the complete line ups and I'm really hoping as the GH is PS based we complete the ghosts line up as the Bloody Baron and Fat Friar both make their appearances here.

So far the new information tells us we're getting five brand new characters next: Malkin Flower witch Wheelchair Student Crouch Sr Karkaroff With the Aragog set almost certainly not having new characters and the Potions Class most likely based on the early films, but possibly anything up to HBP, here are what I think are the possible new characters based on the needed minifigure lists: Great Hall - Prof Vector, Bloody Baron, Fat Friar, Alicia Spinnet, Troll in the Dungeon. Millicent Bulstrode, Ernie MacMillain and Penelope Clearwater appear in CoS so are unlikely but possible I think. Potions Class (if from HBP) - Katie Bell, Leanne That also reduces the needed GoF characters to just Roger Davis, Eloise Midgen, Amos Diggory and Frank Bryce! (not including Nigel )

76435 Hogwarts Great Hall This looks good. I wonder if the set will contain the Great Hall and the rocks beneath, or the Great Hall and Grand Staircase Tower. Either way, this looks a great reboot for the castle. I'd echo calls for Fat Friar and Bloody Baron (both of which belong to underground common rooms...) as well as the missing teachers Vector and Grubbly-Plank, and new outfits for other teachers. Keep it based on any films pre-BoH I think. 76440 Durmstrang Ship & Beauxbatons Carriage - I'm guessing the ship will be the dominant part of this set. For Beauxbatons I'd like to see Fleur and Gabrielle in their Lake Task outfits, failing that their other Beauxbatons uniforms not present in the last carriage set. For Mme Delacour, any of her outfits bar the two we already have. For the ship I think we need Krum, Karkaroff, Karkaroff's assistant and maybe a random student. Crouch would be okay here too. 76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkins, 744 pieces, $99.99 This sounds great. I want to expand the contents of my Diagon Alley shops and the WWW set last year was good for this. Glad to see a Padma without bindi to go with Parvati from the Divination set. 76427 Buckbeak, 723 pieces, $59.99 I reckon a waistcoat Hagrid and maybe a scruffy/torn clothes Malfoy here. 76433 Buildable Mandrake, 579 pieces, $59.99 If there is a figure I'd expect Neville, but would love a Sprout in new outfit or another figure with earmuffs molded on. 76431 Hogwarts Potions Class, 397 pieces, $37.99 Heart says Slughorn era, head says Snape's. 76434 Aragog Forbidden Forest, 195 pieces, $14.99 I'll skip this unless Harry and Ron have torn/dirty clothes.

Karkaroff, Dawlish and Crouch all appear in Hogwarts - as well as various Order and Death Eaters in addition to who you mentioned. Hey, some of us like the variants 😁 But you're right, not many left. Thanks that's interesting!! 👍🏻

I've not heard of this, it would be good to find a source for this I have collected all I can about the various extras and crew members who doubled as shopkeepers (like Fortesque): QQS(man on the right): Flourish and Blotts (two for this shop): Wiseacres (Bald man in a robe can be seen in the doorway): There may well be others I've not come across yet, like Malkin.
-
Haha no problem, I have most of the adults costumes sorted, but I still need to check all the students which will be a massive job 😁

Five, I think: She wears a long coat in Spinner's End when Snape makes the Unbreakable Vow. A shorter coat and skirt when she visits Borgin and Burke's with Draco. A black dress at the Malfoy Manor meeting. A velvet(?) black dress in the Malfoy Manor battle. Death Eater-like robes at the Battle of Hogwarts.
-
The blocky corridors worked well for the connecting various towers together, but with the inconsistent window design and use of sand green looked out of place. I personally liked the sets, but 2018-20 did look better. The Boathouse and Owlery look more similar to that style, luckily.
-
The ships in the City theme are very different to the list of 'similar' ships I explicitly mentioned. And yes, there are too many boats right now, but as at least one is EOL.
-
I'm pretty sure it does. Also, the Owlery is from the same film as the Durmstrang ship.
-
There are currently three 'similar' Lego ships/boats - 3 in 1 Viking, 3 in 1 Pirate and Thor Goat Boat. There is also a tiny ship in the EL Dorado fortress set. At least one - the Viking Boat - is retiring at the end of the year which means there won't be such a bumper crop of ships, so hopefully the Durmstang Ship can come next.
-
I'm quite hopeful that we'll see rockwork under the castle in the new building system. So far, I think Chamber of Secrets is the only set that's had it. It means the Boathouse can actually be down a set of steps, bridges can actually cross open spaces and underground locations can be suitable built into the rocks beneath Hogwarts. The Owlery shows there doesn't have to be much in the underground section to make it interesting too.

[REVIEW] 76418 Harry Potter Advent Calendar 2023
Seaber replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I updated my Aberforth to have the kilt piece from the CMS bagpiper and darker legs. I tried the hairpiece from the Grey Lady - the same piece as Luna has but in Light Bluish Grey - and it looked a little bushier but slightly clashed with the beard piece. Here he is with all his brothers! -

I think the summer wave will likely be Hogwarts-heavy, due to needing quite a few sets to show off the new building system. On the needed character (and creature) list, at least thirty are possible at Hogwarts. That's roughly half of all the outstanding characters we need! Of course not all will appear, perhaps not many or even any. But it's likely some will show up, eleven or more are students and would not necessarily need new prints. Incidentally the location with the second highest number of needed figures is Diagon/Knockturn.
