So Illdria has a twin sister?
-
Well, true. Don't forget it's also immune to ALL specials that use Ether, elemental or not. And again my post count is getting artificially inflated because I keep getting ninja'd. Awesome. I'll let you know I put in the first offer.
-
Also: does Lorcan have an unrequited crush on Umbra?
-
Again, not really. Maybe 200-400. Remember, half the value of a gem imbued in an artifact is that you can get it out again later. No gems can be removed from that helmet, because it's Immune to Magic, not Immune to all Elements; they're different effects, according to the rules.

Your Questies are worried that by the time they have the Gold to buy what they want, they'll be unable to go shopping. It's something of a trope in Heroica, actually. I blame Doc and Quest 4.
-
Simple solution: Duplovia needs its own Gurnam. No pics needed, aside from perhaps a headshot pic for the actual NPC.
-
Not the same bonus...a better one. This one would have rendered Wren's Special Damages moot-that Tricorne of his wouldn't. OH, yes, SP has to be cut, agreed there. It's just not a "ZOMG must nerf now" type of thing, IMO. Natural inflation of loot.
-
That was my first thought, but then I realized that it's immune to magic, which makes it immune to ALL Ether-using specials...but also means that gems can't be extracted from it. While I do think they're underpriced, it's not QUITE as bad as a fully-gemmed artifact.

Yeah, the Arena is in MAJOR need of a revamp. If any help is needed, I'd be happy to volunteer.

Good grief, that Arena battle...

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Minor change to autoroll conditions: we can autoroll with the following strategy until a Hero is in danger of being KO'd or Nagure is Confused Autoroll Battle Order: >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, nothing) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, nothing) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) Nagure (Axe of the Croise vs. Dark Night, Front Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) OOC: And if Arthur runs out of Ether, the plan will be: Autoroll Battle Order 2: Nagure (do nothing, Front Row) >Arthur (Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Arthur (Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) ...again, autorolling only until a Hero is in danger of being KO'd or Nagure is Confused. -
Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Flipz replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Disagree there. Character kills are pretty rare for most characters (thus why the Sword of Ancestral Hatred isn't at WP:40 by now), so adding uncertainty to the cost of the actions is not optimal for me. I might buff the cost of the status buffs up to 3 souls, though, or maybe a 2-3-4 split for Encouraged-Hastened-Lucky. -
Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion

I agree, it should be an either/or choice. -
And I'm targeting Nagure with my Healing Staff. Even if it doesn't work that way, I can still copy Blindness-immunity from Dark Night.
-
Yeah, it all started when Alex and Punii were the only characters who'd bother talking to my NPCs in the Hall back at the end of 38. The title of Endgame and my 16-page-long PM chain is "Punii chat", and it started with Endgame and I talking about Punii chatting with Roni.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: I'm an idiot. This is, like, one of the best artifacts in the game, and I keep forgetting to actually use the damn thing! "The strategy is sound. I just hope the other Heroes are faring all right." In addition to his battle actions, Arthur uses the power of the Jester's Cap to copy Nagure's immunity to Blindness. -
I just realized Sandy's savviness with the loot--he made the SP:6 artifact headwear so no one would have motivation to sell it to you, since you prefer your Dread Hat.
-
The Loot: 1x Adamantine Shield of the Thespian: SP:30, SP decreases by 5 every time the bearer makes fun of roleplaying in- or out-of-character. Suitable for Knights, Dragoons, Skirmishers, and Regulators

Keep in mind, LEGO cares about its fans--in this case, they want to protect them from the very real dangers that exist here on the internet. It's what anyone has to (and should) do if they're going to allow contact between minors and adults online...and that means a lot of heavy moderation. It's part of why Eurobricks doesn't allow KFOLs and TFOLs on the site; we have a LOT more freedom in our creations and discussions because we're an adults-only community. That's the sort of thing that TLG will have to do if they actually want to reach the MMO crowd: exclude the kids so that they don't have to go overboard on moderation. And really, LEGO does NOT hate AFOLs. I mean, look at it: I'm sure if they really wanted to, TLG could get all the AFOL websites shut down. (It would be stupid on a number of levels, but that's not the point.) Not only do they allow us to exist and share our creations, they watch our discussions and try to cater to at least some of our interests. TLG encourages AFOLs and the AFOL community; it's only in interacting with KFOLs and TFOLs that they get rather protective. In my opinion, that's how it should be; not only are they watching themselves legally (i.e. COPPA and other legislation), they are sending a message broadcasting the type of company they are and their attitude towards protecting their younger fans, and that's a good thing for company and children alike.

Like I said, I like it most of the time, but occasionally it gets in the way. I like the idea of a rare heirloom sword that's magically enchanted so that mages can wield it. I mean, I guess you could make a wand that's called a sword and looks like a sword, but that would look kind of silly in the stats.
-
Most of the time the weapon categories make sense, but once in a while...
-
I think an exception was made for the Sword of Decay, allowing Mages to wield it, because it was owned by Atticus Zeigfried.

Another thing that killed LU was the necessity of such huge amounts of constant moderation, on such a HUGE scale--which came at a HUGE expense. And this is something that this MMO will have to deal with one way or another. I think part of the issue is that MMOs naturally cater to an older audience, and TLG seems really nervous about there being interactions period in an online space. While there's some validity to that, I also think that TLG may be shooting themselves in the foot if they again try to allow younger fans to play; MMOs are an inherently social experience, and yet if they try to reach their normal age target, they are required by law and their own company principles to partially hinder that experience for the safety of the children. Realistically, if TLG wants a truly successful MMO, they'd have to restrict it to 13+ (or older) to avoid those sorts of problems--and that goes against the target age group for most of their existing brands. (Perhaps TLG could hit the best of both worlds by making a BIONICLE MMO? ) Now, for all I know, the Funcom MMO has a brilliant, revolutionary concept that makes moderation almost completely unnecessary. For their sake, I hope so. But if Funcom's finances are anything less than stellar, there is NO way they'd be able to afford anything near the level of moderation that LU had--which, despite everything else that happened with LU, is still the standard that TLG would require.

Oh great and mighty Random Number Goddess, please give me a bunch of SHIELD rolls, unless Nagure actually needs to be healed. *kowtows*
