  1. Oh, that's handy to know! Thanks! I'll give y'all a hint with the name: he's not a real-life person (as far as I know), but he is "real". He's official, but not an official. He now is, but will be not, but forevermore he will live on. He came direct, but the name isn't. Confused yet? Also, for the record, I had no idea about the Congressman from Kentucky; I don't live anywhere near there. EDIT: Should I buy a Bedroll or a shovel? Also, do I just post in the Heroica Hall, or...?
  2. Picture: Coming soon. I have him built, but not photographed. ;-) Arthur Justus Regulus VII, Level 1 Mage 20-year-old male Human Power: Health: Ether:5/5 Gold:10 Inventory: Serpentine Staff (WP: 3), Elemental Gem of Ice (first person to get the reference of his name, I will give you some loot from my next quest. You have until I post the picture. ) Note: I'm posting it here in case anyone has suggestions, and in case the user control panel bugs out for me again. (Last time I tried to add my sig, I got an error message. Wish me luck!) EDIT: Say, what is the code that people use to make tooltext appear in their profiles? it would be MOST useful here!
  3. OK, thanks. So, besides the skin color, what makes Mopags different from humans? Also (and slightly off-topic), where did the outfit for Byblos the librarian come from? I LOVE those legs and want to get a pair for my own use.
  4. Yep! Thanks! I probably won't get started until the New Year, but I want to have time to collect parts as needed (i.e. if the Lego store at Walt Disney World and/or Disneyland gets some early Series 6 minifigs in right before Christmas). OK, thanks for the advice! EDIT: So, besides the skin color, what exactly makes the Mopags different from ordinary humans? Also, just for clarity, if I manage to collect all of the different colored gemstones, I can use all kinds of magic, or am I limited on how many I can carry/use?
  5. So, a few quesions about how this works: 1.) When I take the pic for my character, will I have to update it with any/all new items I get? 1a.) If I decide I don't like my character's appearance, can I change it? (Obviously not adding weapons/etc, just things like torso and legs, etc.) 2.) Will I need to take extra pics if I only play quests? (I'd like to do this, but my bricks are mostly still in boxes, and I don't have much space for photography.) 3.) A question about the magic elemental gems (the ones Mages start off with)--are these one-time-use items, or do I gain new types of magic for each gem I collect, or what?
  6. *resists urge to comment on this for several reasons* Personally, I'd love to see that treehouse done in Lego! It's been too long since I've gotten trapdoor pieces from a set... *rolls dice* 1. Critical failure on my Will save, now I must make the joke. The pitchfork first appeared in D&D as a weapon that dealt Piercing damage of--*shot* Sorry, couldn't resist. In all seriousness, though, I'm wondering about that banana myself. It's been popping up in a lot of the sets I've gotten lately it seems, I wonder if that "insane catapult fetish" SpiderSpaceman mentioned is mutating into a banana obsession...
  7. Dude, you're missing out. Zane ZX is awesome, and even if you don't like the set (as is, the shrine build itself is rather "meh"), the parts are epic. Translucent neon green grilles? Yes, please! 1x2 bricks with engraved brickwork pattern? Oh, yeah! IIRC, Zane had to translate the scroll from "the ancient language of the land." Speaking from experience, it can be VERY hard to translate from Japanese to English, and that's when the Japanese has been transcribed into hiragana/katakana; with Kanji, some of the individual translation quirks for each character can become so complex, it can make a full, accurate translation almost impossible. I find it likely that Zane's translation was a little off. Also, looking from a merchandising standpoint, if the Green Ninja is an addition to the main cast (instead of a replacement), that means there's one more character they have for 2013's new forms (and thus, one more spinner set for the kids to collect). In other news, Earth Dragon Defense just arrived, meaning I have now built all four dragons! You know, the way the rock plates are attached on the sides makes me think the very first plan was to put the wings there...I'm thinking with a visit to Bricklink and some ingenuity, I can give him wings like in the video series. Has anyone else here tried this, and if so, how did it go?
  8. Thanks. Any chance of a link to a HD version of the full episodes? (Only Episodes 1 and 2 were released in the U.S.) EDIT: Hmm...let's also note that that number 5 is green...
  9. Thanks! They added a LOT of stuff near the end. There was a HUGE update almost ready for release, but now TLG won't let the mods release it...grr... (Incidentally, don't get me started on Lego Corporate's decision-making--just, just don't. :P ) Yeah, they are pretty sweet. I haven't gotten the nerve to tear the pod apart to actually use the pieces (well, except for the bazooka), but I've gotten quite a bit of use out of the pilot and the bazooka! Odd, I haven't run across you, at least not that I can recall. I play mostly on Overbuild, did you play on Storm perhaps? My Minecraft username is _Flipz_, I'm not on a whole lot of servers, and now that most servers are down due to the update...
  10. Ditto. Also, pink ninja, wha--? Any chance someone could link me to the post that shows a pink ninja?
  11. That's the ship, right? No idea, all the sets we've seen so far are out EXCEPT that one. :-/ Nope, just what we've seen already. Also, the Rattlecopter box clearly shows Lloyd fighting the snake guy (on the back). ;-)
  12. I actually picked up the Venomari Shrine at Toys'R'Us the other day--I live in the United States, though, so I don't know if it'd be out in Europe. If you see the set, get it! Zane ZX is just awesome, and his shoulderpads will be VERY useful for many things--it can hold up to two swords, similar to the Prince of Persia sword holder, but it's cleverly designed so that if you take the swords out, you can actually attack the back part to a Technic pin. (I'm pretty sure that's how Kai's jetpack-thing is built in the Rattlecopter set.) The shrine also has several nifty 1x2 pieces with brickwork engraving--I'm not sure if they were in Pharaoh's Quest, since I didn't buy any of that theme--and they are just, as the saying goes, "made of win." Also, if the ad in the instruction book is telling the truth, the Venomari Shrine is the ONLY place to get the Snake Staff with the little "poison" detail on it--also note that you get a SPARE of that piece as well! Overall, I LOVE this set!
  13. Wow, thanks for posting this review--I had no idea these books even existed! The bit about Lord Garmadon teaching the Skulkin how to perform Spinjitsu actually explains something from LEGO Universe as well--I would always wonder how they were able to perform Spinjitsu even though they're particularly vulnerable to it. (I would usually ask this question in anger after one of them managed to use spinjitsu to smash me, but still. ) So, this is Greg Farshtey's new project, eh? Now I know why Ninjago is so awesome. Mr. Farshtey truly gets how to layer dark and light elements together so that a theme can appeal to both kids and AFOLs. Let's hope he can keep it up into 2012!
  14. Hello there! My name is Flipz. If you've been involved in the LEGO Universe Creation Lab for any period of time, you've probably heard of me, at least in passing; at the very least you've heard of the PCG (an association of Star Trek builders on the Lab, though we've since expanded to cover all kinds of space vehicles), of which I am the most senior active member of the Council. I'm active on a few other Lego forums, and I've recently started playing Minecraft, so as to ease the pain of the closure of LEGO Universe. Of course, most of that probably means very little to y'all, so allow me to explain my true claim to fame: I am the owner of Bradford Rant Pod 7, one of seven unique Pods that were awarded as prizes in an ARG promotion for LEGO Universe. (As a result, I had the green Slave I curve pieces months before anyone else, and I also own a minifigure with unique torso, face, and helmet printing, a small number of unique printed bronze and silver parts, and a chrome bazooka.) My favorite classic theme has to be LEGO Alpha Team (it's what got me interested in LEGO long-term, beyond just messing around with random brick buckets from garage sales), and my favorite current theme is Ninjago. (In fact, I just got my hands on two of the dragons a few days ago, and the last one is on its way as we speak--er, type.) Outside of LEGO, I like to write stories (which is, incidentally, part of how I gained notoriety on the LU Creation Lab), and I also act in and direct college theatre (though as of late, a recent move has temporarily curtailed those activities until I can find a new theatre). I am a college student, though I am quite close to getting my Associate's Degree! I look forward to getting to know you all better! Play Well! --Flipz
