Don't we have him in the latest (non-UCS) B-wing set? (Or is that a different Sullustan?)

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"It's concentrated Chaos--a Zoot's Plaything. It's an artifact of great power...and it just reacted to something--or someone--just now." He shrugs. "It's not our problem--at least not yet. Unless it walks down this alley, it's not our job to deal with it." -

"Wonder what kind of guests will be at this party..." Just then, Arthur feels his Zoot's Plaything begin to react. He removes it from his pocket, but a few minutes of study reveal nothing unusual. Shrugging, he slips the pulsating orb back inside his cloak. -
Interesting...it seems like we're setting the stage (hehe) for Byblos' Quest with Ambassador Luneth...

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I fought the Bro'bric Elves at Bric'bay with the Lion Knights...they're good allies of mine, I might consider joining their ranks as a Skirmisher one day. I also fought with them in Dastan...I suppose you've heard of all that happened there? That was my start of darkness..." Arthur looks away wistfully. "That was my first time leading a party--Skrall and our Rogue were whisked away by a Dragon to fight a Chimaera, and our Knight and I were left flailing. After that, I chased Wren in the Valley of Ennon. If...if you don't mind, I'd like to not dwell on that time. I then ended up leading another party to track down some Ji Pei goods that were stolen by the Bonapartes as they tried to smuggle them out to their off-island contacts. We stopped them, of course. We met a good crew there...Captain Illdria of the Magpie and her crew. A compassionate woman, she is, she's taken in those souls no one else would touch, and they work all the harder out of gratitude. Wish more folks were like that." He sighs. There were so many he wished he could help. But he couldn't help everyone...not at once, anyway. He'd have to trust that Count Knyghton, and Captain Illdria, and even Emperor Alandri would do fine on their own. Forgive me, my friends. Eubric needs my service. -

"It's not Violetta, so we'll let it be." Arthur pulls a small chunk of preserved meat from his pack and breaks off a piece for the feline, eating another piece himself. "Want some? Rations aren't the best food ever, but it's food. We may be out here a while." -

"Right. Unless Sorrow wants to try to Track Down Steerpike on his own, we'll just wait here on high alert until something changes." -
Yeah, you're right. Although: ~ The Bonapartes: Medal of Valour (Artefact) – Totally outclassed...though the simple buff of "user always gains a full level of experience" would fix it while also making it crazy OP. ~ The Shadeaux: Libra Signet (Artefact) – Works at Anwyl and on Quests--Alchemists, not so much. ~ The Guild of Invision: Moebius Ring (Artefact) – Can save the party from a TPK, and that's still 50 Gold (one Phoenix Essence) per battle saved. ~ The Hinckwells: Cornucopia (Artefact) – is a higher multiplier than Sticky Gloves, and STACKS with them (for 3x Gold earnings). ~ The Ziegfrieds: Zirconia – True, but what about imbuing? I know that imbuing into an Artifact would be instant immunity to elements, but what about imbuing into a weapon? If I put it in my sword, would I be able to choose which elements I'd be using to attack with? If imbued into a Wishing Wand, would the user be able to attack physically with any element or combination of elements they chose AND select one of the four Effects granted by the Wishing Wand?

She's had time to train, though...AND it's likely she used that Medal of Valour to do it... And, if she has that Moebius Ring equipped...AND if she used the Libra Signet to buy consumables and upgrade her equipment...
-
Violetta is no pushover, though... especially if she has artifacts like these equipped...

Hunters and Assassins have Track Down, why don't they go out and kill all the Wolfgang? Or whatever bad guy they're assigned to take out on their Quests? We have tools and opportunity, here, so we're just making use of it to defend ourselves.

At best, the Magic Compass can only tell if they are who they say they are (and then only if you already know enough about the person you're actually looking for to have even an inkling of whether or not your target is telling the truth). Also, we can't leave our post. I'm mostly worried that cat is going to turn into Violetta and murder us all.

Reservoir Dogs, Joe. (I really need to watch the whole thing sometime, I've seen a few YouTube clips and that's it. )
-
...balanced by the fact that, at most, we can know where they are, but can't exactly chase them down (or for that matter, we can't know exactly where they are). Plus, in-character knowledge--the other teams have no clue about this information. Only when they're in their base...it's their base that has the protection.

Eh, Arthur's had experience with tapping the ground with metal objects, he should be able to tell if anything is amiss. ...Sandy's probably laughing as us big time.

Arthur also reaches out with his longsword and taps the ground, listening to see if the sound is unusual in any way. He also uses his Magnifying Glass to examine the door and entryway for any unusual features. "Nagure, think you could check under this porch for anything unusual?" -
I should probably do that on the outside as well.
-
Fixed, thanks.

Arthur also looks for any overhangs above the alley. -
I'm laughing at my own paranoia while still being majorly paranoid. Rule #14 of game-mastering: there is no better way to ensure player paranoia than to plonk them down someplace and tell them there is nothing there.

Arthur checks to be sure there is no one ambushing them from above, then presses his body against the door as soon as Sorrow is through it. While he waits, he checks his Magic Compass for the locations of Donny Dozenhands, Violetta the Cat Burglar, and Ulric. -

"Hmm...perhaps. The compass DID point toward the theatre, in any event, so contrary to my paranoia, the singer is not, in fact, Steerpike in disguise...anyone else you can think of that it might be a good idea to check up on?" Arthur glances inside and sees the Watchman on duty. Arthur attempts to recognize the man. -

Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"There is never reason not to be paranoid in this city, especially when one is in a position of leadership. Also, if the Wolfgang are planning to strike...well, that's even more cause for paranoia." Arthur eyes his Magic Compass suspiciously. "West? But that can't be right..." He looks to the others. "Why would Steerpike be West of the Theatre, not inside it?" OOC: For clarity, what side of the building are WE on? West, right? On a hunch, in an attempt to check if his compass is working properly, he looks for Lord Boomingham, and then Barbariccia. "Anything unusual inside, Sorrow?" -
Explosive Handcannon - (WP: 8, double WP to rock monsters, handcannon, suitable for rangers and cannoneers) From the first battle of quest 51. And apparently still in De'kra's possession.
-
I've just been re-reading through Quest 51 (gosh, and I thought I was properly paranoid THEN...Pie could have screwed us six ways to Sunday with the recklessness we showed! ), but something's bugging me... Whatever happened to the Explosive Handcannon? I know De'kra posted a message in the Marketplace saying he wanted to sell it, but I never saw any offer accepted, either there OR in the Hall...and I dug through a full three months' worth of posts. As far as I can tell, De'kra still has it...which, hilariously, means he could have lent it to Mizuki and made that Lava Golem battle MUCH shorter.
