Whoops, yeah, sorry Endgame, I all of a sudden realized that the Counterstrike course won't earn us any more gold, and I NEED that Gold. Fortunately, the Healing Staff will still work for that.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I have a few theories, but I haven't had time to fully research them. Byblos knows even more about the subject than I, though." "If you could let off a shot at this guy using that Longbow, it'd be most helpful, get him Deadly Poisoned even though it won't cause any damage. Nagure and I both have Light-elemental weapons, and we're Encouraged, so we might be able to take him down faster than Counterstriking." Battle Order (and suggested actions): >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night OR if Dark Night Sealed, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night OR if Dark Night Sealed, Scroll of Frailty vs. Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night OR if Dark Night Sealed, Scroll of Frailty vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night already Sealed and Frail, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs Dark Night, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night already Deadly Poisoned, guard door (do nothing), Back Row) Nagure (Axe of the Croise vs. Dark Night, Front Row) "Let's strategize ahead while we have a moment to do so." OOC: We can autoroll with the following strategy until a Hero is in danger of being KO'd Autoroll Battle Order: >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, nothing) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, nothing) >Arthur (Scroll of Sealing vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night is Sealed, Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) Nagure (Axe of the Croise vs. Dark Night, Front Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) OOC: And if Arthur runs out of Ether, the plan will be: Autoroll Battle Order 2: Nagure (do nothing, Front Row) >Arthur (Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Arthur (Healing Staff vs. Nagure, Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) >Sorrow (guard door (do nothing), Back Row) ...again, autorolling only until a Hero is in danger of being KO'd. -
jingles pathetically low HP for my Level

Hmm...actually, that pic on the beach actually looks rather similar to the pirate encampment at the end of Gnarled Forest, just with the rocks re-textured and the caves on the left (of the image) removed. If the new game pulls from LU, I will be very happy. Might be willing to take a chance on it.
-
Yeah, I'm completely stumped on that riddle, too--sat staring at it for almost an hour, still got nothin'.
-
Also, we see now how I'm basically the only gold-earning Rogue AC in the game who manages not to roll SHIELD after SHIELD while Lucky. So frustrating!
-
I may be overthinking things, but that was a hard Round to plan. I'm happy I was able to do my final two actions WITHOUT having to make conditional actions that were four layers deep.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

"All right, let's try and kill the Night Mare while it's still Sealed." Battle Order (and suggested actions, confirmed actions in bold): Nagure (Axe of the Croise vs. Night Mare, Front Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening vs. Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Light, Sir Roderick's Sword vs. Night Mare, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs. Night Mare, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs. Night Mare, Back Row) >Arthur (Light, Sir Roderick's Sword vs. Night Mare, Back Row OR if Night Mare dead, Scroll of Weakening vs Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night weakened, Light, Sir Roderick's Sword vs Dark Night, Back Row) -
Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

Realizing a valuable tactical opportunity, Arthur changes one of his Scroll actions. OOC: Battle actions updated, and Battle Order fixed to reflect all actions being in. -
I was under the impression that it persisted, but was only useable once per Quest.
-
User is Hastened and gains a Mead and a Nostrum. It's usable once per Quest.
-
Not opposed to the idea, I will only say this:
-
Where the hell is McCafferey, anyway? Zeph, when Atramor goes on Russel 2, give him quadruple damage until he brings her back.
-
I still don't see how using the MC like I did is no fun. That's sort of what it's there for, isn't it? Incidentally, if the direction Sandy indicated is still correct, the Dark Night and the Night Mare approached from the direction Steerpike was in... Also, prediction for the end of the fruit battle:
-
Well, then the kitchen and ballroom parties are doing an awful job of finding him. No, wait, the Magic Compass pointed East, away from the Theatre...
-
Also: totally called it, these enemies are summoned by a mage. But I'm still not seeing how Steerpike is getting in... I know the Massacre itself is now fleshed out, but I'm interested in the time before it.
-
What do we know about pre-Hero Massacre Eubric, as far as Heroica is concerned? I know of several Quests that took place before the massacre, all established by Zepher. Let's see...: *Wren's First Mission Wren, Level 1 Mage Sasha, Level 1 Barbarian ??? (other members? Party Leader?) *Sasha's Second Mission Sasha, Level ??? Barbarian ??? (other members? Party Leader?) *Protect the Princess Sir Roderick, Level ??? Knight Sasha, Level ??? Barbarian ??? (other members? Party Leader?) *Mission in the Sewers: Gray Wizard, Level ??? Cleric **Party Leader!** Wren, Level ??? Mage Sir Roderick, Level ??? Knight *Mission described in Quest 19 (Too lazy to look up right now)

"Right, let's try that again." Battle Order (and suggested actions, confirmed actions in bold: Nagure (do nothing, Front Row) >Arthur (Armor Sundering vs. Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Light vs. Night Mare through Sir Roderick's Sword, Back Row) >Arthur (Armor Sundering vs. Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night SP already sundered, Scroll of Poisoning on Sorrow's Mockthril Longbow, Back Row) >Arthur (Light vs. Night Mare through Sir Roderick's Sword, Back Row) >Sorrow (vs. Night Mare, Back Row) >Sorrow (vs. Night Mare, Back Row) -
Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I'm going with some kind of magical construct or summon. It seems to be some sort of manifestation of the night itself. Probably summoned by the Wolfgang to distract us while the real strike is launched. Fortunately, Nagure is still leaning against the door, but we really do need to finish this guy up quick just the same." Arthur glances toward the door, to see if anything is moving towards it. -
Because existing combat is easier to update than the start of new combat and/or the advancement of major plot? Well, that or we're waiting for important stuff to happen in the kitchens, since they seem to be behind us time-wise.

"All right, Nagure, you can move to the Front Row now. Keep it going, Sorrow!" Battle Order (and suggested actions, confirmed actions are Bold): Nagure (do nothing, Front Row) >Arthur (Frail Night Mare, Back Row) >Arthur (Frail Night Mare, Back Row OR if Night Mare Frail, Light through Sir Roderick's Sword, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Armor Sundering vs Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Armor Sundering vs Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night Armor Sundered, Light vs. Night Mare through Sir Roderick's Sword, Back Row) >Sorrow (Night Mare, Back Row) >Sorrow (Night Mare, Back Row) -
No, that one was all DLL. I mostly pointed out when Danny seemed to have completely misread stuff, like the mushroom pile, or things like the "spirit before Evoker" strategy (which, BTW, any Party Leader with an Evoker in the party should follow--if you put the spirit before the Evoker, both will get to attack even if the Evoker rolls another SHIELD; if you put the spirit after, the summon may Burst before it can attack, potentially creating a Free Hit for an enemy). It was great getting to help out, and I always love our little RP improv sessions. (Although "little" may be the wrong word to describe them... ) I will always try to steal/borrow your NPCs whenever it makes sense and you'll let me, I really love them. I was sad the party didn't take to Hal or Dini very much. Definitely want to see more Punii, though! Yeah, Aquos was by far the best prince, both in design and in personality. Really, really great job with him. I also liked Beatrice and the Toxiproggs a lot, and I want to see more of them. I loved all the different types of Proggs introduced here, especially the bombers and the crystalline Proggs. That reminds me...you said you had more "rare" Progg variants (besides the Progg Lurker, which was partly based off a nightmare I had about Q48 that I told Endgame about )--any chance we'll get to see those now that the Quest is over?
-
Sandy still seems to follow that rule, just with somewhat more interesting weapons. Actually, I think that's how Conspirator ended up with the WP it had at first--it was one higher than Lifestealer.
-
Because Belanotte and Nuitan's plan is coming to fruition?
-
Now see, if a Rogue had wanted that hat, the price would have been 200.
