1. I'd state that the other way around; Pathfinder is basically 3.5e, but Pathfinder is slightly more streamlined. ...I don't suppose you live in EDIT: my area? (location removed to PM)
2. Hate you so much right now. I've been looking for an IRL D&D (well, preferably, Pathfinder) group in my area for years, but never managed to find one. Almost managed to put together an Iron Kingdoms group this semester, but it fell through, and it looks like we won't be getting together over the summer, either. Also, if I were in that party on 62, I would probably walk back to the Hinckwell guy, demand double rewards, and if I didn't get them, stab him out of sheer frustration.
3. Actually (and this is very interesting now that I think of it), angels and other divine beings of Ennoc have consistently been shown to be capable of preventing injuries, but aside from perhaps Barty, they have not been shown as being able to heal them; all of the healing I've seen Paladins do, again, with the exception of Boomers, has been healing energy channeled through the Paladin themselves (and even Barty's actions can be explained away as Barty channeling Boomers' innate power without Boomers' knowledge). Sylvania and her followers, on the other hand, don't seem to be too good at preventing damage, but they're GREAT at healing it (Roots of Life, Nurture, etc). That's the sort of subtle distinction people like me love.
4. Very much so, though it might be nice to have some numberless graphs to illustrate the curve you are speaking of (perhaps built out of LEGO? ) just for clarity. What I am interested in is: what could we the LEGO fans do to improve the issue? It may or may not be legal for a company to "prime the pump", but could a group of dedicated (read: extremely wealthy and altruistic ) fans "prime the pump" by flying to Australia and buying a lot of LEGO over the course of a few months to a year? (Theoretically, of course, I don't think anyone would be willing to go THAT far to do this on the scale necessary to cause any permanent change, anyway. )
5. I think that's the first Spellspin I've seen that hasn't hit every single enemy.
6. "It's all right, it was a rather chaotic night." Arthur winced at his own words. That night, this one--was it not over after all? Or was his bravado in the face of The Regret actually true? Was he truly cursed to wallow in Chaos for the rest of his life? His arm trembled with uncertainty as he waited for an opening in which to throw his Horseshoe.
7. Extra loot and exp for us?
8. "That's what I have Ether Cores for. Leave Bowen and Crosette while they're blind, and let's finish the others!" Arthur casts Blindness at Elijah, then throws his Unlucky Horseshoe at Elijah (Back Row) before casting Fragile on Ajax from the Back Row and casting a Darkness spell at Elijah from the Back Row through Sir Roderick's Sword. OOC: If I fail to throw the Unlucky Horseshoe at Elijah, I'll throw it at him again instead of casting a spell. Battle Order Nagure vs. Ajax (Front Row) >Arthur (Blindness) vs. Elijah (Back Row) >Arthur (Unlucky Horseshoe) vs. Elijah (Back Row) >Arthur (Fragile) vs. Ajax (Back Row) >Arthur retrieves Unlucky Horseshoe OR (Unlucky Horseshoe) vs. Elijah (Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow) vs. Elijah (Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow) vs. Arrowric (Back Row)
9. OK, are you SURE you're in the plain-text editor? All of the buttons on the editor should be grayed out and unclickable. If they aren't, click the little lightswitch icon in the upper left of the editor. Second, QUOTE this post and then copy-paste the spoilered content FROM THE EDITOR FIELD. That should solve the problem. (This is only the enemies, I'll fix the party momentarily.) FYI, this is the sort of crap that almost EVERY QM has at the beginning of almost EVERY line of their posts:
Ambusher A
EVERY time you copy and paste something in the rich text editor, another layer of those tags are added. Seriously, it's BAD.
10. Or maybe she was waiting for me to assign her artifacts in the beginning-of-Quest Artifact switch-off.
11. Why does Nyx have only two Artifacts equipped? Although, it's obvious which one she should put on at the moment.
12. Damn that's a lot!
13. I try to have most of the major NPCs and as many Heroes as I can build assembled at any time. Poor Wigglepike was in shambles for the longest time, though, seeing as I only have one of the torso he used to share with Arthur. No, you're trying to blow up Baba and everyone in the theatre. There's a difference.
14. Arthur holds up the writhing Plaything, which looked like it was trying to turn itself inside-out despite being a solid blob of oozing semi-solid Chaos. "Really? It doesn't take a scholar to know that something bad is coming..." "Orbs of pure Chaos don't react to just ordinary circumstances...no, there's something powerful at work tonight..." "Nagure, what do your instincts tell you?"
15. Also, hooray for in-character misinterpretations! OK, now I really do need to get back to work.
16. Arthur's Plaything begins rippling uncontrollably--he rips it out of his pocket to stare incredulously at it. "What the fu....??" The possibilities begin to click in his mind. If Byblos had... "Oh, shit. Sorrow, we're about to have enemies on two fronts...and of two different factions. I hope the other Heroes survive..."
17. Speaking of acceptable anachronisms, I would find it hilarious if Vincent Legonardo had invented the bicycle. I picture him riding through the city on one of those little red LEGO bicycles, and it cracks me up every time. Cane we please say this is a thing? Or if not, can we a LEAST have a picture of it, Sandy?
18. I was talking about getting super-boosted to Level 30 and using his Zoot's Plaything. Also: Barbarracia, and when pronounced it sounds similar to "Baba erase ya".
19. Arthur could always pull what he did with The Regret in the spirit medium battle.
20. Damn. That's been two for two you've been right, Endgame.
21. So, wait, have all of us failed the Quest now that the Kitchen party fell? Still too busty for a proper post, Endgame still controls Arthur.
22. I've got one day to finish up ALL of my final projects, so it's likely I won't be on tomorrow. Endgame has control over Arthur until I get back.
23. Aw, come on! Now Vash is going to read this and think he got lucky only to find out he wasn't.
24. There'll probably be ONE chance at Shadeaux rep between now and then. I think you have time. And hey, if Doc offers another shot at Skirmisher, Hoke could chill with the Lion Knights until Zeph is ready. Actually, that's something I've been playing with in my head: having another player design "companions" that are part of class features. It wouldn't necessarily work ALL the time, if you've got a specific concept in mind you should go with it, but it might be an interesting way to shake things up and prevent "talking to yourself" syndrome. I know when Arthur goes Dragoon, I'll definitely want someone like Endgame or Pie or Zepher to create my dragon character, just for the added challenge.
25. Moving from R&D... My advice would be to: But in all seriousness, if you don't know who your character is, ask him. Let a random thought drift through his mind, and explore what responses it evokes in him. It doesn't even have to be written down (though it may help you remember it later); once you've got that little foothold into Hoke's mind, you can sort of just hop in and take him for a drive. Don't make choices for him, just empower him to make his own choices. You'll have the hang of his roleplaying down in no time. As an added bonus tip, you might want to re-read Quest 19, especially the ending. Lots of good footholds there, and if you can manage to climb into his head there, you can re-read through all of 53 from Hoke's perspective, letting you see where he's at now.
