I actually liked Regret's strategy alterations, just like I loved Jebs' "AI" on the dark paladins in Q35. It was fun to watch, and fun to run. My only problem was that it ended up being something of a one-on-one engagement for Dannylonglegs and the QM, but it definitely added a lot to what might have otherwise been a rather standard fight. I definitely think it's a concept that could be explored rather than eliminated, though. Again, different styles of QMing. You're the kind of QM who builds a Quest, opens sign-ups, and lets it run like a clockwork toy, interfering only when it's absolutely necessary. Endgame is a different type of QM, one who molds his Quest to the players as the Quest goes on (as evidenced by his comments about "getting things down to a science"), and so what might not work for you may work exceptionally well for him--as it did here.

No, he wouldn't.

I disagree. This story needed a big long epic Quest. I think the only problem is that Endgame was in denial about it needing to be so long. Don't get me wrong, I like and prefer shorter Quests, but sometimes they NEED to be long. It also depends on the QM; Endgame is an active enough QM to pull off this size and length of Quest, like Brickdoctor or Pie. Other QMs...perhaps not so much. Mostly agreed...though I have to say, it wasn't for a lack of trying. I actually jumped up and cheered when Johon rolled two Special Damages in a row, against the enemy I had super-buffed...only to discover that Sylph had strategized around it. Also: I'd like to see those numbers in PM, if you don't mind terribly. They'll be useful when my Quest finally gets off the ground. You definitely managed to hit a perfect stride of "looks scary but isn't TOO insane". Maybe, but only by about 1,000 HP overall. I think it would have translated to MAYBE 100 HP less per enemy, and really that's not much.

Indeed! Yeah, I just noticed that cat is still there, and it makes me suspicious...

Out of the corner of his eye, Arthur checks to see if the cat is making any movement toward the door. -
There, Zeph, she didn't want 'em. If you really don't want to give 'em to the Ji Pei, give 'em to Zelda Zeigfried--and do it on my behalf!!

Hmm...I'd probably say something like Gold equal to the amount of Health already depleted from the enemy--Assassination is effectively equivalent to depleting all of the enemy's health in a single strike. Either that or no Gold at all--Assassination could also be viewed as removing EXACTLY the amount of the enemy's remaining health in a single strike.

OOC: Apologies for another OOC-only post; I've altered my Battle Order after my potentially disastrous oversight. -
I am in awe of how you manage to morph names to different forms like that. Are you a linguistic scholar (read: J.R.R. Tolkien) by trade, mayhaps? I want them there so you can give her the gloves on my behalf so I can get reputation for saving her life.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

OOC: He gets one Scroll turn and one attack turn per Round. Technically, it's only two, for purposes of Free Hits; I listed it that way to make the order of actions easier. -
Hey, I'd go on that one again, it was great.

Heroica RPG - Quest#66: WANTED! Steerpike the Poisoner

"All right, Sorrow, you and I are on the Night Mare. Try to Assassinate it if you can, please. Nagure, barricade the door with your body for now; I want you to Counterstrike the Dark Night. Next Round, be sure to make a conditional action: Barricade the door with your body (do nothing) from the Back Row, unless I'm successful at Weakening him, in which case Barricade the door with your body (do nothing) from the Front Row." Arthur Casts Weakness on the Dark Night from the Back Row, repeating until successful; once successful, he attempts to Seal the Night Mare from the Back Row until successful. If he still has turns remaining, he casts Frailty on the Night Mare from the Back Row, and if by some stroke of luck he still has a turn remaining, he casts Light at the Night Mare from the Back Row. Battle Order: (and suggested actions; confirmed actions are bold) Nagure Barricade door (do nothing), Back Row >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening on Dark Night, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening on Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night Weakened, Scroll of Sealing on Night Mare, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening on Dark Night, Back Row OR if Dark Night Weakened, Scroll of Sealing on Night Mare, Back Row OR if Night Mare Sealed, Scroll of Frailty on Night Mare, Back Row) >Arthur (Scroll of Weakening on Dark Night, back Row OR if Dark Night Weakened, Scroll of Sealing on Night Mare, Back Row OR if Night Mare Sealed, Scroll of Frailty on Night Mare, Back Row OR if Night Mare Frail, Light through Sir Roderick's Sword, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs. Night Mare, Back Row) >Sorrow (Mockthril Longbow vs. Night Mare, Back Row) "If anyone has a different strategy in mind, please speak up. The best ideas often come from discussion and dissent." -
Say, what about the Ji Pei? I thought earlier Bilbert had mentioned Shanxian Ji Pei would be here?

Psst. Just grab the Fifty Shades of Bley and the Lamp of Summoning and run.

Why wasn't Riley a Black Knight, then?

I'm a little confused by 48. Is Romulus referring to the sounds from that book?

Yay! I'll have to get up early so I can be active during your daytime.

Arthur also takes a peek into the hallway to see if the guard is still OK. -
But...but I thought that was the whole point of the game!

Say, how would a Berserker work with a dual-strike weapon? Would they be able to use it normally, or would they have to double-attack? And what about switching secondary targets? Is killing a secondary target enough to let them attack a different main target?

Arthur leans physically against the door to prevent it from opening and speaks quietly to his companions. "One of you, watch the other direction, stay out of combat if it comes to that. Just in case." He then speaks to the dark figure. "Hail, sir, what brings you this way? May we offer assistance?" -
AFAIK, Metasimians and Sharklings are unique species and are not considered werefolk.

I'm hoping for confirmation of the English translation of Ace Attorney 5, but I'm also hoping for a confirmed release date for the English translation of Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney. Of course, what I'm really hoping for is news that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 will be localized into English...but that'll probably be announced when Half-Life 2 Episode 3 comes out.

Well, based on the scale I'm working at, the Cathedral of Mercutio would be about 200x100 studs and a minimum of 30 bricks tall (NOT counting the front towers, which are substantially taller)...but that's a condensed version; when I ran the numbers to allow for accuracy, it'd need to be a minimum of 50-100% larger than that to realistically support everything that's inside that (functionally speaking--I'm not even thinking about realistic structural support ). And before you ask, no, Doc isn't building the front in minifig scale.
