  1. AMAZING ammounts of deatil work must have gone into this, eh? This is the definition of a SHIP. This has to number in the millions of peices! Great SNOT work on the coffe machine, but what's that stewardess doing? Good little build, mabye offset the centrall chese 2x1 and change it to a 1x1 cheese? Dakar out!

Well, if you can say anything for this subject matter, you can say that it's great for a multi-sided discussion. Some may chose to ignore it, and focus on the build ( sonicstarlight), some will take it as a harmless joke (LT), and still others will take offense (L@go). It truly shows how diverse a community Eurobricks is, and is a perfect example of how the world is similar, yet still very different. Kudos to you, Bernd, on bringing up a controversial subject, even if deep discussion was not the original intent. I hope to see more discussion- bringing work, and I fell that this opens up whole new doors for what can be achieved with Lego, be it cultural understanding, issues put behind closed doors by society, or even a deeper understanding of ourselves. Philosophy on, Dakar
  5. Thanks LT! The townhouse fits in alot better with the other modulars, now that I've added 2 and 1/3 bricks of extra height to it ! Hmm... I might have to do that. They actually aren't attached to the building except for 1 stud. It comes off as a seperate peice. Kinda a way to make the mdular buildings even more modular: Modular Accessories! 1. The connection works fine, as long as you have an open space behind the other building you attach it to, or that building goes all the way to the back of the baseplate. You just have to add a 1x2 technic brick w/hole. 2. I got the containers on a PAB wall, and had no other use for them. They're pertty tough to get to attach to plates. You have to use 2xn's. I'll soon get to work on the inerior! Yeah, they're great space-fillers. You can add 2 bricks of height to a builing like *that*! Thanks for all the C&C! Dakar out!
  6. Thanks for the advice! I know the stairs are poorly placed. I'm just too lazy to take the time and adjust them. Sorting, and all... I might try sticking some black bricks behind the windows, and I will update this when I do. I thought I'd try that with the curians.

I truly wasn't that offended, I was just going along with the crowd.. I agree with ardleon. My French teacher told our class about when she was living in France, for her honeymoon, her professors put together enough money for her and her husband to go to a fancy resturant (Like over 500 euro!), and there there were some prostitutes dressed as geishas, with some wealthy clients! So, it may also depend on social stigmas based on where a person lives (People from France or Holland might not be as offended as Americans) as tto wether they would be offended. Dakar
  8. Awesome action activity alluding at an alliteration! Quite funny! Reminds me of the SNL sketch from last night. Especialy the part about "open marrige" Great job in building and storytelling! Scandal on! Dakar
  9. Oh la la! GREAT job dede! I never really fancied the original Market street, and this makes it look SO much better. The vines, the off center stairs. I don't think that there's a single thing I don't like about this MOC. MOC/MOD on! Dakar

Well, this is awkward... Good building techniques. Mabye you could change it into some sort of theatre, with diferent shows, going on, in different floors, to make the subject matter less... controversial! I do like your FB mods, so good bulding work. Dakar
  11. B-RM-4E Hello! I've had this MOC around for a little while, and recently made additions to it to improve the overall look (Dark red, anyone? ) It's a 16x32 modular building, with a twist: It's a corner building!. While that makes it unique, it does little for interior space. So, without further ado, the Overdale Townhouse! I think you'll like what you'll see! The family that lives here is Jason and Sarah Kent. They've lived here since 2007, and love it. They are adding some renovations right now. Oh, and their friend Jimmy is rooming with them (At first he was their landlord, but I thought it would be weird to live with one's landlord! )Sarah is on the bench, using her smartphone, while a framiliar face is washing windows! Front veiw. /\ Rear 3/4 veiw. Rear veiw. Side 3/4 veiw. Sarah and her smartphone! Jimmy, saying hello to the morning, before catching the bus to the bank. Sarah, watering her urban flower garden. She really loves it! Jason leaving for work at the town hall. He says hello to his friend Duncan on the way out the door, along with the delivery man! First floor. I mostly used peices from the fire station. Top down veiw of the first floor. The interior is very sparsely decorated, but in my defense, the stairs take up about 1/4 of the room. The second floor. The room on the left will bcome a restroom, as soon as I figure out how to keep peeping eyes from seing into it! The top floor. The patio out front is a great way to look over the Studwell skyline at night, enjying the sun setting behind the buildings. The 3rd floor. What's that you say? how do they get down from this foor ? Well... They use the trapdoor staircase! The roof. Since there's no t.v.'s in the house, I ask myself: Why the antenna? Sarah and Jason enjoy sharing a bunk bed. It saves space, and keeps from extra (little) people coming into the family, when not expected. A shelf, from IKEA, with a lamp and CD/clock radio! Jimmy really has a thing for white desks. And white buildings, and white in general. But he's in an inter-racial relationship. What? You though he would have a WHITE girlfriend? Now that's just RACIST! Jason also loves his smart phone. He says really helps him in his life! Jason and Sarah. They love each other so much. And romantic stuff, yada, yada, yada... You can't have a city without FIREMEN . Duncan, Frank the firefighter, and the deiveryman. They all like to go to the pub and knock back a few on the weekends.. Bye from all of us in Studwell's residential district. Have a nice day! Drive safe. Build lego! And finaly, a shot with the GE for a size comparison. A free internet cookie to he/her who spots the differences, between this picture and the earlier one. Thank you all for chosing my little MOC to look at. I truly hope you enjoyed it. More picture (To come) on my Flickr Kudos, Dakar
  12. Congrats! looking through the posts in the voting thread, I'd say you've got a good chance of winning! Great MOC overall! Dakar
  13. 4. Dix 2 6. Darkblane 1 24. sdrnet 2 Great job all who entered. Although there were other entries that I loved (SI-mocs), These were thethree that I thought fit the winter village bill most accurately. Great job everyone! Dakar
  14. W/ French Horn (Lego already has a trumpet, plus a horn would be much cooler!) Dakar
  15. Nice job, LT! Great job with the EMT torso AND the overused police motorcycle shell! I love the O2 tank, and the face on the fig is perfect! Great MOC Dakar
  16. If I were you, I would use two 1x1 tans-clear plates, and put one of these in the center of the truck: Good luck cheering up your post man. Because Big Brother doesn't want sad people in Lego City... Dakar
  17. Same happened to me, I got really lucky. The boxes are scratch and damage boxes, and when I went to the Cincinatti, OH store this christmas eve, they had some WV Post offices, parts from a GE, and 1 or two parts from a GG! Needless to say, I loaded up on brown windows and light bricks. So did my cousin! So true! PAB on! Dakar
  18. Impressive! I love it when there are modular mocs in a layout, along with the sets!(I really like the drk. red one! :sweet: ) Urban planning away! Dakar
  19. I'm MAD. Positively angry! I'm kinda lamenting my choice not to ask for the Maersk train for christmas instead of the Pet Shop! :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: Why!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now all I want to do is to go out and buy a Maersk already, but I sadly don't have the funds! Why this torture, Brickster !?!? Immedeately after seeing the Engine engulfed in flame AND in the snow, it made me think of the Top Gear "Dominator". Now all I can think about is a Maersk engine with a flamethrower, gritter and snowplow! Maersk Mad! Dakar !
  20. Ooops! Seems like eccentricity and the fact that someone always wants a convertible version. I thought that since it seems the Veyron was meant to be the fastest car that could be produced, and a taiga top would be too unsafe for those speeds. Oh well! Dakar
  21. I like it! My only problem is that bugati couldn't and wont ever produce a drop top Veyron, because then it COULDN'T be the fastest car in the world! Great job, regardless! Speed on! Dakar
  22. Yeah, me too. Dakar
  23. 10185 Green Grocer I might move this to General discussion and news before an admin does it for you! But since I have no idea of how to do that, just sit and wait... I love the GG because A. It was my first modular, B.It is one of the biggest modulars, C.It gave me tons of modification options, and D. I live near a house that looks like it could very well be the living incarnation of it! Dakar
  24. Spoken like a true artist! These all seem to be good ideas. I build and sort mostly in my room and closet, so it's often tough to find the best, most comfortable place to sort that still has access to all the amenities I require(WANT). I'll play some ska, some Cake, Bosstones, and some uppity pop music. I'm sure soda would probably help, but I'd just end up knocking it down. Dakar
  25. SO, I was browsing the internet, and I came to my archtecture site, ArchDaily, and LEGO was the keyword of the first post! So I thought "Well, I must have clicked on one of my Lego blogs". But no! I hope to work in this place eventually, since it is described as "Walking on a cloud" Article Architecture on! Dakar
