Chili's Restaurant 2.0 and Pet shop alternative model
Dakar A replied to brickcitydepot's topic in LEGO Town
I love that Chili's! But if my local franchise is anything to go by, you've got 1 thing wrong. The bathroom stalls are TOO big. It is almost impossible to get into one of the stalls, and even harder to close the door and relieve yourself. -
This is such an enthralling build, agatheron, that I feel myself almost psychopaticly willing your Bricklink orders to get to you faster!

Is farmhouse a euphemism ?...

I was packing at the Orlando LIC, and had gotten a core and filled the cup halfway when *BAM*! some kid came up, and started taking out what he/she ( I didn't pay attention) didn't want, ruining at least 20 mins. work in a crowded store. After that, I always made sure to enlist the help of someone to watch my cup while packing. Also, the Orlando store had run out of large cups, so the let you fill two smalls for .50 off the price. After my 2nd packed cup, I just gave up on filling every nook and crannie. Sad but true.

I really like this post office LT! My only complaints are that it blends TOO well with the bank, so just put some other building between them. Number two is the white wall behind the mailbox. Maybe some sort of striping or window would work better there. Otherwise, this is a really well-designed MOC! Brick On Down Under, Dakar

The command ship was kind ofan afterthough, something to wrap all of the creations together. I made a scout ship and a missile tank, but neither of those ended up looking as good as these three. I also have what I imageine to be Neo-futron. I will put up pictures of those sometime soon!

Once more, great boat De-marco! My favorite part is the inverse studs in the cabin the window! If you had pictures of the techniques you used, I'm sure we would all love that! Sail on! Dakar

I have to resize them, but right now I have to do something important. Check back in about an hour.

Hello all you classic space fans! Although I may not have even been alive for Blacktron I, I am still inspired by the black-yellow colour scheme. And as such, I was inspired to build these: DG-418, SR-7114, Jaxaar- Class command ship The DG is the larger dropship, the SR is the sleek assualt ship, and the Command ship is slightly obvious... DG-418 SR-7114 Jaxaar-class command ship More images in the Brickshelf folderwhen moderated. Comments and criticisims please! Dakar

After seeing this MOC, TYB, I can not wait for snow or short winter days. I think this goes a step beyond what TLG puts out. It really feels like somewhere someone would WANT to live! Kudos, Dakar

In the most recent episode of the simpsons, Homer, Bart, and Lisa go to "E4", and there are ads for blocko Angelina button. In the movie "Tower Heist" , Ben Stiller uses Lego to Make a model of Arthur Shaw's penthouse.

How long did it take you o make the f117? Dakar

Hello! I'm Dakar,a TFOL from the U.S.! I enjoy Lego, first and foremost, along with playing French Horn (Except for scales!), watching TOP GEAR, other T.V. shows, and (im)patiently waiting for replies on my posts by other members! I typically buid Town, but I will venture off into Space, Adventure Themes, and even 1-2 Technic sets! When not building, I will wach t.v., play GT5, keep my dog out of my lego, solve my Rubix cube, and Sort. I hinda hate sorting. It's the bane of my Lego existence. Well, thanks for reading my introduction, and why not take a look at (and put a reply to) my city overveiw (Studwell city) over in the Town forum. I look forward to becoming friends with all of you! Dakar

In response to you, Legomonk, my dog is terribly scared of my Technic Dune Buggy, and will back away and yap/bark whenever it moves. Now if only I motorized it...

I love the origionality of all your vehicles L@go. Most of the time you will see a fig scale car in yellow, red or orange. Even though I am a culprit of this,I love the way you use dark green, sand green, dark blue, and more in your models! Once more I will say that these MOC's leave nothing to be desired! Brick On! Great moc EROL! Like lightningtiger said, those exhausts are great. The only area I really think that could use improvement is the windscreen. It's pretty hard to make a realistic car with that trans-black piece you've used. One way to improve that would be to build the windscreen out of black or red offset plates, like in my picture of my MOC, down here \/. But if you don't change it that's fine, since it's all based on the way YOU want it to look! Brick on, Dakar

The only thing that could make this any more epic would be if the insides were built with LEGO.
-
Besides the Rubix cube, I also play the French Horn, this instrument: Since almost no one outside of an orchestra seems to know what it is, I'd say it's pretty obscure..
-
All of us have a certiant aptitude for the brick, but do you have any other obscure talents? Mine is the ability to solve a rubix cube, from memory, in under two minutes.

Losing interest in a theme you once loved
Dakar A replied to RichardRobins's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm a major town builder, the first set I remember was a fire station, and that's where all of my time and effort goes into. But(and there's always a but!), I will often buy a ten dollar impulse form the currently running action theme. This has included power miners, Atlantis, bionicle, and most recently, kingdoms. I buy these for their unique parts, rare colours, and unique minifigs. The will eventually become parts sets, but for a short time, they hold a special place in my heart. Dakar P.S. - my most recent TRUE action theme is alien conquest, not kingdoms! Tee hee!! -
A gas truck would be pretty cool in this style. The kind that carries propane, not petrol. Like this:

Thank you all so much for the positive feedback! Without sites like this and the inspiring work from all of you, I would probably be in my dark ages right about now! Thanks for all the compliments! Dakar

No more photos as of yet, but I will soon get more pictures of just them + the interiors. Look forward to it! Oops... Maybe it's some other deceased astronaught. Oh well, you learn something new everyday.
