V-LC-8F So, recently TLG released a contest through the LEGO Club magazine. I have entered a few of these before, and had just visited Legoland FL. On the way, I saw a LOT of 18 wheelers carrying oranges. So, before I knew it, I had half the cabin of a truck infront of me! The lower front SNOT section was pretty tough to wiggle in, but I fits well, if a little snugly! Orange Truck by Dakar A, on Flickr The cabin is based off set 3221, Lego City truck. I decided to build it in white because I didn't have enough parts in red or grey! The real challenge was deicing how to do the trailer. I connected it using a larger rotating platform, since a smaller one wouldn't have been able to handle the stresses on the trailer. The whole thing is a monster, taking up ove 40 studs in Length! Orange truck 2 by Dakar A, on Flickr The road was built mostly for show, but it ended up using just about all of my black bricks that weren't already in use! Orange truck 3 by Dakar A, on Flickr I kept trying to get a good shot of it on the road platform, but since I hadn't curved it, it just didn't work out. I can't seem to find any reference pictures, but trust me, they exist! Dakar

Yep, born of too many hours of playing Pokemon.

WARNING! Basic reading ability needed to fully enjoy this game.

Yep! I've been in contact with Fangy about it, so this seems Perfect..

1. I have wanted to play in a mafia game ever since joining EB. I am consistently on my computer, and probably shouldn't spend as much time on it, but I regularly check EB. I also plan on taking part in Whitefang's Scarlet Unification Mafia, so this would be perfect for some practice. 2. Personaly, I enjoyed the Stinky Cheese man and Princess and the Bowling ball fractured fairy tales. But the little gingerbread man was a fun one too! Hope I can grab a spot, since it seems like there are more than 12 requests! Dakar

Nice work! The changes look greet, and it's fine to use Photoshop or GIMP to edit you images ( I edit just about all my pictures). Once agian, welcome, and I look forward to seeing more MOCs from you! Dakar

Nice work! For a first MOC, the lighting and photo setup are great! I could easily tell that it was a camper stopping in woods on a sunny evening. My only suggestions would be to 1- add a little bubbling brook and hiking trail, and 2- Get a Flickr account. Eurobricks is a great commmunity, glad you're here! Dakar

Wow Snailiad! Great work! I enjoy how you have mono to two tone fronts to the buildings, but the interiors are filled with splashes of colour! Wish I had the tailor's for my town! Dakar

Yeah. Whenever I look at it, an Ocatn colour scheem comes to mind. I might have to get on that... Yep LT, not only are they dusty, bust they seem to have been chewed parially. Yet I soldiered on and made this guy/girl. I just need to get a bottle of ABS® champagne to christen her. Ideas? Hopefully it's just the parts, and the design, because I wasn't in existence in the 70's... Thanks for the comments and knid words! Dakar out.

phew! Great to know that it's just about over, its really hard, especially since I just posted a MOC! Seems like this may be a time TBB did more harm than good! Oh well!

I know! Pretty surprising that you can make megabloks with only four words....

V-W-4D Such a beautiful day to be speeding along, atop the waves! The cigartee Boat has been around for a long time, going through a large number of aliases. A go-fast boat, is a small, fast boat designed with a long narrow platform and a planing hull to enable it to reach high speeds. During the era of Prohibition in the United States, these boats were called "rum-runners" because they were used to transfer rum from larger vessels waiting outside the territorial waters of the United States. The high speed of the rum-runners enabled them to avoid interception by the Coast Guard. More recently the term "cigarette boat" has replaced the term "rum-runner" when similar boats were used to smuggle cigarettes between Canada and the United States. The present era of cigarette boats, dating from the 1960s, owes much of their design to boats designed for offshore powerboat racing, particularly by designer and builder Donald Aronow. During this period, these boats were used by drug smugglers to transfer drugs across the Caribbean to the United States. Cigarette boat 3 by Dakar A, on Flickr Cigarette boat 2 by Dakar A, on Flickr Cigarette boat by Dakar A, on Flickr The SNOT steup also includes a buoy and a guidepost (Designed to show boat capitans wteher they are in shallow water or not). The wake may be a little high, but I feel it gives a sense of motion. The boat was made EXCLUSIVELY from parts and stickers from 386 Air Ambulance, which is why it isn't in minifig scale. The scene however, wasn't. But I enjoyed building this, and hope you enjoy this speedy MOC aswell!

It's black and yellow. Duh. I mean, it doesn't GET anymore awesome than that! Like the sliding doors, at firts I thought the gears were just for show on the interior (Where they look AMAZING, I may add). Only thin ig needs now is a rof and roof connection! Dakar

Beautifuly done! Like the pool, the minimalistic colour scheeme and the single tree! Brick on! Dakar

Nice work 'Bricks boy'! As it seems everyone specializes in some sort of building, it seems like you souuld be a professional coachbuilder. Love this, just like the earlier, longer version! The opening doors, the fact that it fits so many figs, just fantastic. Hope to see more, mabye I'll be inspired to build a bus too! (My town desperately needs one! ) Dakar

B-M-3E Hello all! Mini Overdale by Dakar A, on Flickr This is the Overdale Townhouse. Built in 2008 by ME Architecture, This building was an instant classic in Studwell City! Of my few Modular MOCs, the Overdale townhouse was my favourite to build and to showcase. Built on the strange format of a 16x32 corner building, making the full scale model was*ahem* tough. The mini modular version, though, was a whole 'nother ballgame! Overdale Minimodular plans by Dakar A, on Flickr I first tried to build it freehand, but what was supposed to be minimodular scale (1 brick equals 1 plate of heighth)turned out being more microscale than anything! So I went on apotome.com, pinted me off some brick paper, and sat down with the original for some inspiration. Turned out being much eaiser to plan and design well. The 1x1 clips didn't make it into the final build, well, because they didn't actually fit.One of the few pitfalls of papre design. Still, I prefer it over LDD, somewhat. I like to be able to manipulate things with my hands, not just on a computer screen. Overdale Edit by Dakar A, on Flickr The source material was quite easy to use, seeing as how I haven't cannabalized it for parts. I tried my best to faithfully re-create it, but I didn't have nearly enough 'glass' peices in trans-medium blue (2! ). Also, I couldn't succesfully put a 1/2 stud offset on the bottom floor windows, so that's also a little off. Mini modulars street by Dakar A, on Flickr This is my personal favourite photo of the MOC, since it uses the classic Modular street veiw. The Medium blue and red buildings also work well with the black background, don't you think? If you are curious about the blue building, it's here, here, and entered into this contest: http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=5233 (Shameless self-promotion! ) Thanks for veiwing, C&C welcome!

AMAZING This is (as Chris Trager would say) Literaly my favourite Modular MOC, ever. That may be a bit of an overstatement, but I have just fallen in love with this MOC! From the supreme realism of the multi-colour/tetured sides, to the realistic shops, to the fully furnished interior, I'd say this trumps even DecoJim's skyscrapers in sheer awesomeness! I love the integration of the cars, the streetlamps, and the bathrooms on each floor! I've got more to say, just check out this in my Flickr Gallery. Once again, amazing MOC! Dakar

Nice to know that I'm the cause for a clarification note! These are all amazing L@go! If only I had the (slightly) deep pockets like you, I might be able to do more automotive MOCs. I love all of these, especially the GT-E's, the blue hot rod (Reminds me of a Bugatti type-33), and the Post and Police trucks! Could we get some breakdown shots of how you did the front of your Tine truck? I personally am stumped! Great work, and keep em' coming! Dakar Just had a brilliant idea! You should make a MGA or MGB next! Go for a british speedster!

Resources for micro scale cities
Dakar A replied to travisco_nabisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sadly, mine was done twice, but there's always going to be a chance of that, unless you're building a really obscure building. Good luck with building in Microscale. I kinda just go for it, get the shape I'm looking for and re-plan/re-build if the scale is too teribly off. Hope I helped! Dakar -
No,no Cimdwic, it's not like that! The Street has too much rock in it to be plumbable, so she'll be building the communal bathouse next. It's Neo-classic Rome! Love the building, colour, deign, stonework, balcony, furnitue... *pant*. As a matter of fact, I think this is one of the best modular MOCs I've seen. Between you and Cimdwic, I think I've got some great source material for my own Modulars! Dakar

Nice work! Afetr seeing this, I kinda felt a sea breeze, and some squaking gulls, since here in SUNNY Jacksonville, FL, it's about 84 degrees outside, and feels like summer! Nice emotion-pulling MOC! Dakar

EDIT! I added more to the description, and took pictures in a more Achitecture-y style, with the design grid below, to bring out the black base, and with DAYLIGHT ! I also modified the model, making the base larger, and adding a back! (I stealtily kept that a secret in my earlier versions!). A label plate was also added in GIMP, so it's not 100% consistent between the pictures! Dakar
