  1. The complete Nordheim layout is up!
  2. The completed collab that John and I built for Brickfair VA 2016 where it won Best Castle/Knights. The base is 130×98 studs making it our largest build ever, and it weighs a whopping 87 pounds! Which is 56 pounds more than our next largest build, which was our big collab build last year, Katoren. Every building has a full interior and all the doors actually open. We tried to include tons of little details, and there are some interesting easter eggs to look for: sig figs, thieves, snowball fights, goats, dragons, fishermen, and custom weapons. You can see more pictures of the 7 individual modules on their own build pages: Nordheim Docks, Nordheim Paddock, Nordheim Harbormaster, Nordheim Farmhouse, Nordheim Armory, Nordheim Greathouse, and Nordheim Fjall. Nordheim is a bustling city in Mitgardia. Its harbor and Dwarven mine make it a center of commerce, while its strong walls offer protection from the Northern wilderness. There are more pictures on brickbuilt. We hope you enjoy our latest and biggest collaboration
  3. That's a big module! Your treasure hoard and thieves idea was a great touch to help add life to the build Good work posing those dragons too! As always, it was a pleasure building with ya
  4. Those horses are so small Very cool photo edit, and I'm looking forward to seeing this technique used in minifig scale.
  5. Neat build to start the gatehouse series off with. Everyone else has given you some very useful tips for your photo presentation already I like the dark green you used in the gate section, and how you topped the walls with white plates for snow.
  6. Very cool mining scene The use of light and dark bley works well here, and I like your printed brick in the border
  7. Welcome to the North, High Baron Vindavin!
  8. Great barroom interior with excellent storytelling I like the wooden rafters and shelf full of odds and ends
  9. @Pvt13: Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear you do have plans to continue your story when you get more time
  10. Very fun construction build! The wall texture does look quite nice I like the stack of cut logs too
  11. Thanks bricklover Thanks BC! It might look better with some more height, though I rather like the squat look of the building. Thanks Blufiji! Yeah this would be one very ineffective gatehouse. Thanks dG!
  12. Great start to your GoH builds! I like the composition with the 2 pillars at the corners, and stairs diagonally down the center Superb stone pillars and fig too
  13. The 2 tone dirt cutaway is a very cool, yet subtle touch Naturally the tree and sloping bank steal all the attention though Superb picture as well
  14. I greatly enjoyed watching your guys entries come in Way to represent Avalonia
  15. The crutches and mixel joint uses are very clever Good color choices for the houses, and I like the large number of vendor stands in the marketplace. The tree with surrounding wall is a great finishing touch to add to the Avalonian look
  16. MKJoshA gives us some insight into his GoH career in this interview. 1) How did you go about choosing which guild to join? This was a really hard choice! I had watched the different challenges through book 1 but had never gotten into the differences between guilds. When Book 2 started and I decided to sign up, I started to look at the four different guilds to decide which one was right for me. I almost joined Nocturnus because I didn't think I had enough tan pieces for Kaliphlin, tree pieces for Avalonia, or white pieces for Mitgardia. But eventually I decided that I seemed to fit best with the rest of the Mitgardian builders so I decided to give it a try even though I didn't have enough white pieces at the time to fill a small PAB cup. I've never regretted that choice! I love the sense of community that Mitgardia has. It comes out a lot in the way we communicate in the forums and how we give feedback to different builders. 2) You joined Mitgardia a bit after the start of the Guilds, was fitting into the flow of things challenging? Or were you able to jump right in easily? It was very easy to jump right in! I cut my teeth in Eurobricks roll-playing games with Shadow of Nar Eurbrikka in the Star Wars forum, so I already knew the drill for posting entries and commenting on other entries. As I started to post builds for GoH I felt welcomed right away. I also started to get constructive feedback right away, but it was all tactfully said and I could tell people just wanted me to get better. Honestly, it was so easy to integrate that I didn't fully realize how much back history there was for many of the builders until much later. 3) You were the first (and only so far!) Mitgardian to complete the Age of Mitgardia challenge. Did you have any sort of method as to how you approached it? The Age of Mitgardia challenge is what kept me building for Mitgardia more than anything else and has probably taught me the most about building our northern style dwellings. I originally started intending to only finish the Gatehouse portion of the challenge. Then the Hersir challenge started so I built all three levels for the three military categories. After that I had almost half the categories finished so I decided to keep going! All my builds are driven by my on-going story. So as I thought of the next portion of the story I wanted to tell, I tried to see if any of the AoM categories I had left to build would work to tell that story. Little by little I was able to peck away at the list till finally I finished! I didn't expect to be the first to finish, and I hope I'm not the last! 4) What set of your AoM builds are your favorite? I'm really fond of my Gatehouse series. It was the first set I finished, and I built them all before my collection really started to expand. I'm very proud of what I was able to accomplish with such a small selection of bricks. For individual AoM builds, my favorites are my Store Phase 3, House Phase 3, and Inn Phase 3. 5) Do you have any Mitgardian builds planned for the near future? I actually only have one Mitgardia build planned right now before I start venturing into some Nocturnus builds. I want to get some practice in before the next civil war! 6) Any advice for those looking to join the guilds and wanting to fit their personal stories into the established world? If you're on the fence about joining, wait no more! If you don't know which guild to join, read through the guild discussion threads and get to know the people there. They will certainly answer any questions you might have and it will help you learn the different styles of builders that make up each guild. And definitely take some time to read a couple pages of recent entries too. It will help you understand stories that are already going on and may help you come up with ways to integrate your own story into what already exists in GoH. The nice thing about the guilds is that there is plenty of room for everyone to tell their own story without stepping on anyone's toes! Plus, it's always fun to have other player cameos or story tie-ins. Thanks for doing this interview, MKJoshA!
  17. Congratulations to the winners! And thanks to the Eurobricks staff for hosting this competition If something like this comes along again I'll have to try and get an entry in myself.
  18. Thanks Garmadon! Well the building is supposed to shrink with each floor. It was a compromise, but given the size I had to fit the building on, parts we had left, and suchlike, I think this was the best choice. Thanks!
  19. Thanks Alfadas, glad you noticed kabel and Ecc Thanks Titus! The choice to leave bley showing was purposeful, as the building was supposed to have a central stone tower with wooden additions. That said, I do agree that all RB for the first floor would likely look better. Absolutely not! Nordheim Keep is very long gone... I imagined it as outside the city anyways, sort of a separate refuge like Helm's Deep
  20. This is the 6th module of my large collab with John. You’ll be able to see it in person at Brickfair Virginia 2016. Previous modules: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. As with the other modules, the building has a full interior. Legopard inspired the cart. The Jarl of Nordheim resides in the large great-house that serves as the primary governmental building of the city. See more pictures on brickbult. Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy
  21. You sure utilized what space you had effectively here! Neat little border and the battle formation is excellent
  22. As the fierce struggle against the invading Algus continued, it became obvious that Mitgardia needed to strengthen its defense against the frozen beyond. Thus a new fortress was to be established in the north, to serve as the main bastion against this chilling foe. The construction of such a castle was no small feat, and troops and supplies were rallied from all of Mitgardia. Upon its completion, the great fortress Rekkrfell was manned by the Kylma Katsella. This was built back in April of 2015, and was really too big for the parts and time I had available then. Thus, while there are several sections I really like, I'm not very pleased with the MOC as a whole. There are more pictures available on my website, link. C&C always welcome
  23. That is one epic posing of the dragon atop the fortress The stone foundation for the building looks great, and the little stream amidst the snow and ice is quite pretty Excellent story as well, the Algus cannot be taken lightly, as Pjeter's death shows
