  1. In terms of popularity I meant Ninja's in general, like I'm not sure a Ninja toy is inherently more popular than a medieval castle toy. I get Ninjago is popular now due to the show and how long it's been going. I'm still not sure exactly why medieval stuff isn't as popular with kids anymore, I don't think it's ever been really popular in media that's family friendly. I was a kid during fantasy era and kingdoms and it always just seemed like a fun toy to me, I didn't need anything else to get me into it. I guess kids these days just want their Lego sets to only be based off Tv/movies, I'd consider Ninjago as similar to a licensed theme at this point.
  2. No I'm just comparing Castle and Ninjago as Lego original themes, I know ninjago is not a castle theme. My point being why are Ninja's supposedly more popular than Castle, Castle was one of the big 3 themes and used to be very popular with kids. Also funny enough the original 90s Ninja sets were a castle subtheme.
  3. Why is Ninjago more popular than castle though? If they made good castle sets and had a TV show based on it like Ninjago, it would probably sell well. Space I understand because when I was a kid, Star Wars beat out space sets for me. I do remember 2013 castle being pretty unpopular, that year seems to be when Lego started shifting away from unlicensed themes. I feel like castle from 2007-2012 was pretty popular, it felt pretty common to go to a friends house and they had a castle set.
  4. I wonder why kids are supposedly not interested in the Castle theme though, what changed from 15 years ago when it was popular? Castle pretty consistently got sets from 1978-2013, maybe kids just aren't as interested in Lego anymore. Or perhaps it's just more profitable to target adults, maybe a bit of both.
  5. I wish they'd replace Ninjago or Dreams with a Fantasy era Castle reboot, idk if it would sell well though.
  6. I definitely understand the need for visual consistency. I don't collect anything pre 2007 which I'd consider classic era LSW, old sets look out of place next to newer sets. Castle is cool but I wish we would get a full line again. 2010-2016 were some great years for the theme.
  7. Older Sealed sets are definitely costly, Used on the other hand can be pretty reasonable unless the set is in high demand. I think for Used sets you just have to watch out for yellowing, missing pieces, stickers and overall poor condition. I have gotten used sets that are as good as new though and saved me $100+ for not getting to open a sealed box basically.
  8. Has the poor state of modern Lego Star Wars made anyone else go back and collect older LSW sets? Personally I'm done collecting and caring about newer sets, the issues have been talked about ad nauseam at this point so I wont elaborate.
  9. Interestingly the 2015 UCS Tie Fighter is really sturdy for a UCS set, I didn't get the interceptor because of the angle of the stand.
  10. 08-14 clone era sets are peak LSW, modern clone sets are overpriced slop.
  11. I actually haven't watched it so I can't really judge. The reason being by 2023 I had lost all hope for Star Wars shows after the disastrous Book of Boba and Kenobi, and Ahsoka isn't exactly a character I think is deserving of her own show. She should've died in rebels imo. I hear people talk about it a lot so I'm tempted to give it a watch, although I'm not a big Dave Filoni fan.
  12. They probably wouldn't do one for $350 these days, The 05 DS2 adjusted for inflation is about $450. With some added detail I could see the new one around $500, and that would be on the lower side realistically.
  13. I think the Rex criticism comes from the fact that Lego lied and said he was exclusive in the instruction manual of the UCS Venator.
  14. Ahsoka of all things, really? otherwise I agree with your sentiment, there are plenty of great games, books, and comics I can get my Star Wars fix from.
  15. If the Death Star doesn't have an exterior then it's an MBS to me.
  16. Maybe they'll put him in a set not related to the movie? unlikely though since we don't get many sets anymore.
  17. Well MandR hasn't army built since the 2020 501st set, and he literally trashed on the 327th battle pack and told his fans NOT to buy it. Anyway you can read my follow up post where I backtracked and said it's understandable since it's for the kids B-day.
  18. I wonder if we'll finally get a Clayface minifigure with the new movie coming out.
  19. Yeah it's understandable if the kid really wants the set for his birthday. It's just crazy how How I could get 4 battle packs for the price of one new one when I was a kid.
  20. And this is why we have $45 battle packs
  21. Rebel pilot helmets are the same, I thought the 2018 ones were more accurate though.
  22. The set is partly based off of ROTJ so technically it is accurate, it would be nice to get the correct torso for ANH Vader eventually though.
  23. And the most interesting Death Star locations have already been made into dioramas. For me the Royal Guards ranks pretty low in the issues with the figures in this set
