  1. 9k sold this past month in the US... by far the best selling summer set. I guess we know why Lego keeps making clone sets.
  2. Wow people are really just accepting $45 battle packs...
  3. Big ships were cool if they had a nice interior though, like the play scale falcons. If I was a kid I'd definitely take the Torrent, a Jedi and a Sith are a lot more fun than some Andor characters they've probably never even heard of. Their character designs aren't very toyish either if that makes sense. Disclaimer: I like the Andor show, but I doubt lots of kids do. I think I prefer ships as an adult, specifically highly detailed, non downsized, play sets. Terrain builds often feel incomplete looking to me; Even with the diorama's they made, I'd rather display a ship.
  4. As a kid I liked terrain builds because you could recreate a scene or something, and lots of places for figures to stand.
  5. I will say as an exception I do like the 2014 swamp speeder which was scaled down. I think terrain is fun for kids but it's just spare parts for me. I think the battle Saleucami had some nice foliage which was fun to play with as a kid (although perhaps not technically a BP?).
  6. I would actually prefer non canon builds to downsized canon ones. The ideal for me is minifig scale canon builds though.
  7. Yeah most of the old battlepack builds were legitimately good, often canon builds, 2010 hoth BPs, 2011 Barc speeder, 2012 Endor speeder. You could throw these on your shelf and they'd just look like nice small sets. Modern BP builds end up looking like micro fighters which are ugly and useless.
  8. It's also worth noting the old DC-17's were made from the same type of of plastic as the kama's and pauldrons and they would come in a pack together. In 2012 they switched to cloth pauldrons and kama's (ARC trooper) so they would've had to make a new mold for it, since we got the scope blaster in 2011 they probably figured that was good enough. Interestingly 2011 sets still used the old DC-17 for Rex and Cody, probably because it came in the pack anyway.
  9. The old pistols were perfect for DC-17's. It's actually crazy how far LSW has fallen, I was looking back at some old winter waves and literally every single set was good. Now I skip entire waves completely.
  10. MAKE LEGO STAR WARS GREAT AGAIN
  11. Yeah it was a bit unfair with the Death Watch having jetpacks too.
  12. We did see Death Watch fight Bomb squad, Horn company and ARF troopers back in 2011.
  13. I haven't kept up with all the Disney stuff so I was curious if they did actually interact.
  14. when did the 327th and Mandos interact?
  15. Yeah besides the color change the build was quite similar to the 1999 Tie advanced. Sets with one figure were pretty common back in the 2000s, I think Lego just had a different philosophy when it came to minifigure distribution. The battle of Endor set also from 2009 came with a bunch of figures because it needs them for the scene, whereas the Tie Advanced really only needs Vader. Lego really progressed a lot from 2009 to 2016 with the Tie advanced; and now almost 10 years old the 2016 Tie Advanced doesn't look dated in the slightest.
  16. Not quite 20 years since we had a Tie advanced in 2009; although the fact that 2009 is nearing 20 years ago is concerning. I own the 2009 Tie Advanced and while I like it, it looks really dated next to newer Ties.
  17. As a side note I never liked the rebels A-wing, I wish they had made them separate sets so I could've got the Tie advanced alone.
  18. So just the 2017 A-wing then?
  19. We did get an A-wing in 2016 tbf
  20. I hate Mando's N1, it takes a colorful ship and makes it another boring gray set. Agreed, minifig scale U-Wing. Mando fatigue is real.
  21. We need an AT-ST with the size of the 09 one with the detail of the 2016 one.
  22. LEGO: Best I can do is more 18+ sets and smart bricks.
  23. I think it was a clear downgrade from 2009 AT-ST the face should be sloped not flat like the 2016 set. 2009 was also technic/plates and not blocky at all. I did actually get the R1 AT-ST back in the day and I always thought it was mid, decent for display I guess. I just dislike when sets are oversized it feels like a waste of space and money. I'm not big on the Tie striker from that wave either but the other 3 sets are peak.
  24. 2016 just looks off to me, maybe the weakest R1 set. It's still better than the OG one from 2001 though.
  25. I do agree the 2009 one is the best but I don't own it. I still think 2007 is the best individual AT-ST set though because it's not oversized and the face is more accurate than the newer ones, it was also only $20. that era of LSW just has aura.
