  1. Many thanks Konrad!
  2. Thanks a lot CDC! Yes, that would be really really great. If only there were still the Indiana Jones Sets, I don't own any of them ... Sorry, no instructions, since I don't work with LDD. But I'm of course willing to help if somebody plans to do so. You may find further pics of the vintage cars on my MOCpages account, see http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/81722 Thanks a lot solta, always appreciated!
  3. Great, I like the style of your station LCM! That tank is a great idea, too. Looking forward to seeing it finished. There isn't much time for me to build right now, but hopefully I'll finish my station next weekend. At least I've got all the parts needed now (hopefully ). Keep it up guys!
  4. Great station rriggs! The roof is very cool, and I like the pumps. Nice interior, too. I especially love that water and air machine and the price board, of course. Good luck!
  5. This is really great! The angled roof is amazing, and I love all the details you have put into this. Nice idea to use a road plate like this, and that night shot is great, too. Plus I love the sign and the solar panels. Good luck!
  6. Amazing build, very original and well executed. I really love the vibe of the whole thing. The interior is ace, too. Keep up the great work!
  7. Thanks a lot Dean! Glad you like it SirDuc! Many thanks Akm310! Due to some criticism over on Flickr concerning the roof I have built an alternative version, derived from the roof of the Coupé/Runabout, see You may decide which one you like better! Thanks a lot all for commenting and viewing, hopefully there will be some more vintage cars soon.
  8. #12: Vintage Sedan (revised) While there isn't much time to work at the gas station right now (there will be an entry, guys ) the light was fine today to shoot a photo of the revised Vintage Sedan (see http://www.eurobrick...25#entry1385761) which, like the Corvette, has undergone several changes in the last few months. The grille has been enlarged and is slanted a bit now, which improves the looks a lot IMHO, there are different tires, the bumpers have been changed to get more stability at the front, and there are some chrome headlights now. Alas, it only fits two figs like before, but well ... C&C welcome as usual, thanks for looking.
  9. Great Caltex Station LT! I think what I love most here is that row of small windows - simple but stylish. I also love the SNOT roof and the annex. The open back is a nice idea, didn't think of that ... Great details inside, too. Good luck!
  10. Great Shell station SalvoBrick, I especially love the shape of the roof and those very nice pumps. The interior is very well, done, too! Good luck!
  11. Not much time to work at the servo right now, so it will still take some days to finish it. Some bricks are still missing, too. Won't be able to add all the details I intended in such a short time, but well ... However, in the meantime I've founded a new Flick group called "LEGO Gas Stations" - surprisingly there wasn't something like that, and I think it's nice to get a quick overview about a special subject this way. It's only a beginning, but I hope you'll add your servos there, too, if you have a Flickr account. There are already some nice examples in there, see http://www.flickr.co...egogasstations/ [Edit]Yesterday, I shot this photo, it's just to check dimensions and proportions, but maybe you get an impression of the whole thing: Later this will become a part of the Garage Project, of course. [/Edit]
  12. You may combine the mudguards with the usual wheels, too, see http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=4441-1. I have used this combination on the Mad Max Interceptor, tires inside out to avoid the grooves. Maybe a question of ground clearance, though. Agreed. But I feel that the grooves in any grooved TLG tire are much too strong, plus they are visible from the sides which isn't typical. Your Royal Ride is a very sleek and elegant car, in my opinion those *groovy* wheels interfere with its look and feel. I'm rather thinking in terms of street scenes which are interesting enough to be covered by TV, the re-opening of an old cinema for instance ...
  13. Thanks LT! Well, I rather try to reduce any custom stuff to a minimum, and since there are a lot of printed Shell bricks and tiles I think I won't need any custom stickerwork. It's obvious that you can hardly avoid them if you choose a corporation withouth this advantage, so that's okay for me. Another Shell station, nice! This looks really great SalvoBrick. I love the shaping of the roof, and your pumps are excellent. Keep it up!
  14. Another batch of amazing vehicles from you L@go! Since there are so many of them I'll do as always and choose three favourites, if it's okay for you. Once again these are rather the larger ones - not just because I prefer them anyway but because I think they offer more possibilities of shaping and technique-wise. Royal Ride: A very elegant yet beefy limo with lots of nice and very original solutions. I like the glass roof, the way you have built the windscreen and the fact that it fits so many figs. Sadly you can't see that nice champagne party going on inside here. My only point are the wheels, in my view they are too off-road-like, but that's me. Anyway a grand vehicle worth any prince in the world! Vintage Truck (no surprise, I guess ): I love that nice colour design, the asymmetric aspects, and last not least the suicide door, of course. The roof is done very well, too. The mudguards are rather unusual, but work surprisingly well here. A very stylish vehicle with a nice vibe. TV Van: I especially love the playability here, but the shaping is very nice, too. It has quite a style and could easily be a set - couldn't imagine a nicer improvement of the original one. TV reporter sounds interesting - maybe we'll see some more MOCs dealing with your professional life? Some other cars I especially like here are the following: Sensor GTR, Cowgirl Cruiser, Cobalt Speedster. Looking forward to the next batch, keep up the great work!
  15. As already said on Flickr this is really amazing, the shaping is gorgeous, and there is a lot of NPU going on everywhere. Surely it would look still more amazing in real bricks, but rendered like this I think you can get a very good impression of the whole thing. Really really great job on this! (Concerning the stained glass windows of the original cathedral: As far as I know there are several cathedrals which still have at least some of their original windows, e.g. Chartres, Bourges, even Cologne. Maybe it's the cathedral with the highest percentage of original stained glass?)
  16. Wow, there are already some great designs, so this will be a tough contest. Luckily there is still enough time, since I am quite struggling with some aspects. This is what I have done so far, there is the shape, the colour design and most of the dimensions (and the car which was not that difficult ), but still a lot to do, as you may see ... Keep it up guys!
  17. Thanks a lot L@go, I feel honored by this. Well, they are all based on more or less the same platform, and the platform is not as versatile as I had hoped, so I'm rather working on the details and vary the concept... Skærbæk: Well, I didn't think about it yet but it would be really nice to meet you and some of the other great builders again (and to have some more time to talk), so I'll consider this.
  18. Thanks a lot Jareth! Many thanks solta. Looking forward to it! Thanks a lot EvMan, it does rate just as high. Glad you like it! Many thanks TenorPenny, this was my aim from the first vehicle on ... Thanks a lot for the blog Cecilie! Guess it's the first time I'm blogged on Classic Town. Glad you like it LT12V! Many thanks gazumpty!
  19. Well, what about danthaman11's Octan Gas Station which was presented here a year ago: I think it can easily compete with the one shown in the display. Isn't there a Flickr group with gas stations? We should have something like that ...
  20. Thanks a lot Missing Brick! Glad to hear you built the speedster, this is the biggest compliment you can get as a builder. Looking forward to your Impala!
  21. Wow, this looks very cool LT! While LT and LCM are opting for Texaco, my choice is Shell, one reason being the fact that I already have some Shell pumps: Threw this together at the weekend so I think I can contribute something ... Keep on building!
  22. No, they won't listen anyway ... But if there was a minifig nun - are there minifig nuns btw.? Guess I've never seen something like it ... Thanks, maybe it's because I build hardly anything but cars ... I guess that's a nice car to learn driving, since if you master a landyacht like this you may drive anything ...
  23. Thank you! Well, I talked to Jake and Elwood about this, and they really like it, but they rather keep their old Bluesmobile: Probably the new one would look better, but they prefer the openable doors so they can enter the car by themselves. That's why I won't build another Bluesmobile. Makes no sense if they refuse to use it
  24. Thanks a lot LT, glad you like it. Hopefully you remember it was you back in the days who suggested to turn a rather ugly family car into a muscle car - which became the first PI. You're absolutely right concerning the bikes. It's just to get a certain impression and to test dimensions and proportions, e.g. the height of a bike compared to the height of a vehicle. It seems to be very difficult to design stable brick-built motorbikes that fit a fig, maybe that nice Harley fairing would work but I don't own one of them yet ... Thank you!
  25. Thanks a lot LCM for the effort you put into this, it's a great idea! Some questions concerning the rules though: With the requirement of a vehicle you exclude builders who don't do them (see the first thread). I think it would be too bad if this deters anybody to enter the contest. If this requirement lasts: Does it have to be a completely new vehicle or may it be derived from an existing one or are even existing vehicles allowed? I feel 32x32 is rather small - compared to a CC building, for instance, but that's me. My question: Is a baseplate as such required (I try to avoid them) or is this only meant as a size limit? Many thanks again, I'm looking forward to the contest, hopefully there's enough time for me to contribute!
