Now this is really top-notch stuff like already said on MOCpages. But I am seriously interested in how you actually shaped the roof. Is it only because of the small distances between the bricks? Anyway, it's all fantastic, the cars too. Looking forward to your Mega MOC which probably will be even greater than the ones we have seen before.
  2. This turned out nicely, you've done a great job! If there isn't enough room for a ramp, perhaps you could think of a lift, like TheKingOfBuilding has done it lately, see http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=66998.
  3. Great work indeed. They just look like the real thing which is not so easy at this scale!
  4. Many thanks Curtis! Very glad you like it. (Never too late ) Many thanks Vincent. Very glad to hear this from you. Many thanks SearchFunction! Nice to hear from you since I remember your fine 4-seaters very well which quite influenced me. Indeed there is some Mercedes in it - I rather thought of an SSKL because of the technic frame, but a 500K isn't far away. Since I thought this is an interesting subject I have founded two groups on Flickr and on MOCpages called "LEGO Vintage Cars (minifig scale)": http://www.flickr.com/groups/legovintagecars/ http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/20939 They are still rather small but there are already some fantastic vehicles in them, so I hope they will grow quickly ... Again many thanks all for viewing and commenting. I'd like to add one last pic that shows the roadster in combination with a modded version of the very nice 7307 biplane. They fit together quite well, I think ...
  5. Great contest! In my opinion this shows that the Friends theme has arrived where it belongs. Concerning "Category 1 - Vehicles" I would like to draw your attention to the Flickr LEGO Friends Cars & Vehicles Group The group is more or less a subset of LegoMyMamma's very fine Friends Group which most of you will already know. In the more specific (and still rather small) vehicles group you might get a quick overview of some of the already existing Friends MOCs concerning this subject - or even some inspirations. I'd be very glad to see the group growing in the course of the contest! Many thanks and good luck all!
  6. Great idea! Here's mine (nothing new, but anyway):
  7. Many thanks Only Sinner! Probably there will be a race version, too. A third version (don't worry, I won't put them all in here ) Many thanks all for commenting & viewing!
  8. Many thanks danthaman11, always appreciated! The wheels are Legohaulic's design. It's very difficult to get wheels which fit nicely on such a car ... Concerning the future versions I will try to find all suitable color combinations - there are only a few, I suppose ... @EB staff: Many thanks for the Town Boy tag! [Edit:] The concept seems to be quite promising, see here [/Edit]
  9. Many thanks L@go, very glad you like it! There will be a minifig version, too (see the last picture ). The minifig version was first, but due to some Bricklink delivery issues the Friends version was finished earlier ... In fact there are only some small differences concerning the cockpit. Thanks a lot, LT! Nice to hear that! Many thanks for your nice comment TenorPenny! Thanks a lot soccerkid6, glad you like it! Many thanks Lego Guy Bri! Yes, I can see what you mean ...
  10. V-LV-29D Hi all, another attempt to solve the "fender problem" with vintage cars . My idea was to create a vintage roadster with a very low stance since often minifig-scale vintage cars are too tall. There will be more versions (for minifigs, too), although there are only a few suitable color combinations between the wheelbase and the "mudguards" - too bad I have called it "The Oldtimer" since this is the German word for "vintage car" - nobody knows why A credit to Legohaulic for the wheel design. Many thanks for looking! C&C welcome as usual. More pics on MOCpages. [Edit]Now there is a second version, suitable for minifigs: [/Edit]
  11. So welcome here! Your Tumbler is really great. I love all the functions you put in there, and of course the fact that it fits two figs. What I like most is the way the hatch opens (I didn't find a stable solution for that with my own Tumbler) - and of course the batpod (my version has none at all ). This is really awesome! Keep up the great work!
  12. Great! I really love it, as already said on Flickr. I once tried more or less the same, but failed ... You used some fine techniques here to make it possible. I like your photography and presentation style very much, too. Awesome job!
  13. Thank you very much Bilbo! - I must admit, I have no idea. Many thanks JackJonespaw. Glad you like it that much! Many thanks Hawkman. - There are indeed some intakes or something at the backend of the roof, but it didn't work out here due to construction aspects. In fact the roof was one of the most challenging parts of the build because there must be some room for the heads underneath the tiles AND the whole thing must be stable. But I know what you mean, maybe there is a different solution. Many thanks Solscud007. There is a video on Flickr now which shows the working of the suspension still better. - Concerning LDD: No, I am sorry. I once tried to use it, but it doesn't meet my building purposes (it tells you if the parts fit or not, but it doesn't tell you how stable the whole thing is). What I can do is post a breakdown since I am building a second one. I have improved the air intakes which were a little unstable. Now there is more ground clearance, as you can see here: [Edit] I have extended the wheelbase of the Tumbler for one stud. This has some advantages: There are small intakes on the roof now (@Hawkman ). There is enough room for movable flaps. So I'd like to add another photo of the actual Tumbler. If you want to see the flaps in action, there is another video on Flickr. [/Edit]
  14. Thanks a lot Solscud007. - You rather think in terms of brick-built Tumblers like the one Lego did themselves. This concept is different, but there will be better builders than me who will combine all this AND windows all around Many thanks johnnyvgoode. - Sure it touches the ground but why should you do so? Btw. the armored bottom of the Tumbler touches a lot of things in the movie, roofs of buildings and cars for instance ... I just add two more pics: 1. front wheel suspension 2. street scene with two batmen. Thanks for looking.
  15. Many thanks Takua Nui! - Concerning the windscreen(s) I didn't find a solution for this so far. Thanks a lot JFAWWE! Glad you like the Interceptor, too, it's my most successful MOC on MOCpages so far ... Many thanks riddler! I didn't have the impression that my Tumbler is that tiny but it seems to fit quite well into the Batman theme (the vehicles seem to be larger than the normal town ones). - Concerning the fig I admit that I didn't care too much about it (don't remember Rachel wearing a tennis dress, too ;-). The reason is that I only own a few female minifigs, and after purchasing a very expensive Batman and a lot of parts I thought this would do - which was obviously wrong I will surely change that, hints concerning a suitable Rachel welcome!
  16. Hi everybody, this is my first post in this subforum, nice to be here. I am a minifig scale car builder (mainly 7w) who has posted most of his MOCs in the Town subforum. "Got to get me one of those!" That was what I thought when I saw Zeto's Übertumbler some months ago. But I didn't have the building abilities at that time. Now I thought I should give it a try since the Tumbler is one of the coolest movie vehicles around. Concept: - It should fit 2 figs (Batman and Rachel). - It should have the typical front wheel suspension. - It should be functional and playable since the Tumbler is an action vehicle. - It should have no or only a few visible studs since the smooth surface is a typical aspect of the vehicle. - The body should consist rather of tiles than of bricks. Features: - openable hatch - rear suspension (live axle with spring) - independent suspension of the front wheels (unsprung) - steering (no real function, for presentation purposes only, some parts must be added) - interior (with batarang holder!) Credits and References: - Zeto Vince (overall design, idea of tilting the backbone to get the typical angle, modular design) - _Tiler (overall design, some details) - Brent Waller (overall design) - Pellaeon (some details, I changed the rear wheels when I saw his Tumbler ;-) Many thanks to my dear friend Philipp (Brucewaynelego-Toyshansolo) who helped me out with some very important parts. Thanks for looking. C&C welcome.
  17. Looks like this is going to be another of your outstanding ships. Looking forward to the result!
  18. Great rig! A very nice design, I especially like the combination of the different types of wheels.
  19. Wonderful creation! I very much liked the first version (especially that great outside shot), but I like this version even better. Great job on this!
  20. I have tried it once (see Friends Highway Patrol) but didn't use varnish like the pros do because there are not kids to play with it. But with a normal use the paint does not flake off so far ...
  21. Many thanks Miller. It is meant as the "Road Warrior" version from Mad Max 2. Many thanks gotoAndLego! Glad you like it. Thanks a lot JackJonespaw. Glad to hear this! As a last addition a more atmospheric photo of the Road Warrior in a Movie poster style since some people complained that the whole thing is too clean and there had to be some dust around I couldn't get myself to use real dust, so it's all Photoshop, but anyway ... Think of it as an experiment Again many thanks all for commenting and viewing!
  22. Really cool Pursuit Special, Pencil_42! It has a rather cartoonic style, but it looks just like it, instantly recognizable. And it has opening doors Great job! Concerning the typical Maxine outfit I suggest some black acrylic color to customize the doll. Hopefully Maxine and Max will meet on the highway. And hopefully they won't be like cat and dog!
  23. Many thanks antp! I think it is an evolution. Today there are better parts available - and we have some nice examples made by the standard-setters to look at ... Concerning a digital file: No, sorry, I once tried to use LDD but found it not suitable for my purposes - it tells you if the parts fit or not, but it doesn't tell you how stable the whole thing is. The build itself is not that complicated - it is based on the usual 12 x 5 platform, see Maybe I can shoot some photos of the crucial parts (e.g. the tilted front). I am not quite satisfied with this myself, maybe I try your suggestions, if the parts are available, didn't check it yet ...
  24. Thanks a lot _zenn. Lego Guy Bri is right concerning the tires. I used two pairs of pliers to turn them inside out - by hand it is quite difficult. Airscoop and blower see below. Thanks a lot Lego Guy Bri. Very glad you like it. You are right concerning the tires. (It's width is 7w.) Blower see below. Many thanks lightningtiger. The blower seems to be something essential, I underestimated that There was a version with a blower before, but it wasn't satisfied with it. Now I have tried something different (see below). Thanks a lot L@go! I think it is quite difficult to build a car that is lovely and menacing at the same time, so I am very glad you like it! Many thanks Liam! Concerning the grille I have tried something (see below). Thanks a lot Pencil_42. Glad you like it. Turning the tires inside out is not my idea. Don't know where I have seen that first. Sven Jagdmann does it like this on his Storm Chaser Doppler Thanks a lot Legocrazy81! Glad you like it best. Very glad you like the wheel, too. It's quite an issue to get nice wheels. I think they are very important for the overall look of a car - it's an aspect I have neglected for a long time. Great interceptor Sinner! Concerning the gas tanks we seemed to have quite the same idea. Very glad you like my version. Yeah, I think you can recognize a kind of evolution depending on the parts available. The new mudguards for instance have quite a nice touch - their shape is much more dynamic than the rather severe known ones. There are quite a few possibilities in them, I think. Many thanks all for commenting and looking! Now a new photo with a blower and a side grille. You decide which one is better.
  25. V-LV-24A 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe, Cleveland V8 A 7w interpretation of the iconic ride. Main aspects here: - The car should get the new mudguards. - It should have 8 exhaust pipes, since it’s a V8. - It should fit at least a fig and a dog. It took some time to just get the front right - this was crucial in terms of starting the build or not. Second issue was the very special silhouette of the Ford Falcon. It turned out quite nicely at last IMHO, but it was impossible to have opening doors with it. Think it’s quite a fair compromise since this increases the possibilities, also in terms of other cars. Mirrors are missing, too - didn’t find a solution for that. Credits: Misterzumbi (proportional aspects, overall design), Dr. Nightmare/Henchman4Hire (some details like the nice tile-tilting technique for the spoiler) Didn't know Orion Pax’ version at the beginning. He found a similar solution for the front, but I think it’s still an original idea to combine the hinge with the cheese-slopes. You decide. C&C welcome as usual. Thanks for looking. As an addition a suggestion to pimp your 4437 pick-up truck (IMHO one of the most beautiful city scale vehicles ever): a wheel consisting of 2 steering wheels: Further details on Flickr.
