  1. Wow, really a fantastic bunch of vehicles Hoexbroe! I'd very much like to know what you are planning but I think you won't tell us right now, will you? Anyway, your rides are all top notch. I like the lime car best. As already said on MOCpages I like the way you tilted the whole rear end to get the typical shape. The color design itself is very appealing, the use of the railing piece is a great idea. Second is Christine. A very cute silhouette and an awesome color design, too. The Batmobile earns my third place. It's got that very classic look ... The hearse comes up to my fourth place. It's great, no question, but not as great as the others IMHO, even if I imagine to change its colors to, say, white and red ;-) Anyway, this is something we all can learn from. Looking forward to the next bunch!
  2. A great "Great Grand Emporium"! I especially like the café (and its name "Hops", of course, although I don't get the reference). Fantastic work, as usual, I like it a lot.
  3. I really like Steph's Mom's car (epic title, btw. , although I think it's cool). There are some references to the CC, but you have improved it a lot: there are doors, there is a real steering wheel, and there is a roof, of course. I like its overall shape, the fins are a nice contribution to classic cars. My only suggestion would be to reduce the range of colors a bit. Your recreation of the Corvette is nice, too, I like the way you designed the junction between the hood and the windshield - will have to think about that. Great work, hope to see more Friends cars from you! [Edit] Do you have a Flickr account? If so, please add your car to LegoMyMamma's LEGO Friends Group and to the new LEGO Friends Cars & Vehicles Group. Many thanks! [/Edit]
  4. Fantastic layout Farnheim! But what I like most are the awesome vehicles I haven't seen before, especially the band bus and that openable urban bus. Really great stuff! Didn't you know that Farnheim is known as a number one 4-wide firefighting vehicle builder? Be aware of a fleet of fire trucks - it will get quite humid here ...
  5. Awesome recreation, I like it very much. I think you absolutely nailed the strange character of this kind of cars. I especially love the very low stance and the combination of those mudguards with smaller wheels than usual. It gives the whole thing quite a different look. Those exhausts are great, and I also dig the color combo. It may be unusual, too, but this is what we like to see, isn't it?
  6. Thanks a lot Miller. Glad you like it. - inter alia - served as a model. I must admit this is an aspect I didn't think of before. But I can assure you that I did not take apart completed models to do this. Thanks a lot Cirkit. Glad you like it. Yes, those are the new Friends lipsticks. No, I'm sorry. Thank you very much medib, glad you like it. Congrats, you are absolutely right with your first guess! I thought the name Rod the Rat would be suitable. Thank you very much, glad you like the furniture, too. Many thanks again all. In the meantime there were some changes (concerning the wheels and the front axle mainly). Initially, I wanted to post this later, but since this thread is still alive I may add it here (as you can see, it can do a wheelie):
  7. Awesome rod, Oran! A very sleek and convincing design, the chrome stuff fits very very well here. My favorite combination is the first one. Concerning the front axle I think you did a much better job than me. To get the whole thing even smoother - have you thought about these tires: rear, front. Another point: What about changing the color of some parts (maybe the hood or what is left of it) to get some contrast? I think this also might add to the appearance of the rod. And a third point: The headlights are missing on purpose, I suppose. I feel the rod might look better with headlights, since IMHO it doesn't look like such a mean machine. But that's only me. Anyway, great job, very well done! (I think I will try something with that 6 x 5 x 2 base, too - as a black part it actually looks very well.) Keep it up!
  8. Sorry, I somehow missed this one. Wow - I'd say this is even better than only a small Lego rod! Good to know somebody like your mechanic then - otherwise you'll find yourself spending more time under your rod than in it! Steampunk rod sounds interesting - I thought of something like that at the beginning when this rod had some brown accents instead of red ones. But then the whole thing went in a different direction. Looking forward to your steampunk rod! Many thanks escortmad79! Glad you like it. Again, thanks a lot all. The rod was quite a success, not only here, so I am very happy with it. Still, there has been some criticism, especially concerning the front axle which surely can be improved. So I will rework quite a few things and then add it to my cars thread, together with some other vehicles still missing there.
  9. I agree, with its large windows and tall silhouette it is instantly recognizable as an old Dutch townhouse. I especially like the roof with the different colors and all the fine details, too. Awesome job, keep it up!
  10. Congrats, well deserved! So I wasn't totally wrong with my fav list.
  11. Many thanks Legocrazy81. I love them very much, too. They are archaic vehicles where everything is reduced to an absolute minimum - except for the main part of a car: the motor. So they remind us of the original idea of driving. Again, many thanks all for commenting and looking!

    Friends Car

Thanks a lot for your explications. Now the video really looks like quite a lot of fun! Great idea.

    Friends Car

Fantastic, I just love it! Now this is something I haven't achieved yet and will probably never achieve ... Could you show us how you actually combined the slot car and the lego car? That would be very nice.
  14. Thanks a lot, Hikaro. Glad you like it. Looking forward to your own rat rod! If you need some inspirations check out ~The Rod Club~ on MOCpages. There you can find many fantastic rods. - As an inspiration for an old style car take a look at lightningtiger's very fine Classic Roadster, too.
  15. Thanks for adding some photos of the cars. Very nice. I really like the Python with its beefy look, long hood and broad wheelbase, frontend and backend are very nicely shaped, too. The Stallion is nice, too, although I think it doesn't look like there's a V8 under the hood, at least compared to the Python. Anyway, two great cars which adorn the showroom of your dealership. Keep it up!
  16. No, I'm German. But I am a huge fan of France and also know Nancy a little bit. So I am quite envious.
  17. It was a big like before - now you have improved it and as a consequence it is an even bigger like. Above all I really love your combination of the different styles. (My favorite part is still the same btw. - the use of the jumper plates at the facade of the modern building.) What I would like to ask is: Since you are French - are you perhaps from Nancy, known as the capital of art nouveau in France? Because then I guess you will never run out of ideas. (And I would be quite envious ) Keep up the fantastic work!
  18. Very nice car dealership with some fine details. Especially the new red car is great - there seems to be some very nice SNOT-work at the frontend. Sadly the other car can't be seen exactly - are there some more photos of both of them?. Anyway, looking forward to the end result. Keep it up!
  19. Many thanks JackJonespaw! Thanks a lot TenorPenny! Many thanks all for commenting and looking. Have a nice weekend!
  20. Thanks a lot dosto_tube! I suppose it's fast, I haven't seen Steph for quite a while now, she's on the road. Thanks a lot AussieJimbo. Glad you like the furniture, too. Many thanks lightningtiger. Glad you like both MOCs. Well, there are still some ideas ... Thanks a lot Redhead1982. Glad you like the furniture. Yeah, there are quite similar armchairs in some bars. Some people told me it reminds them of Top Gear, a British TV show, where they seem to have something like this, but I haven't checked this out yet. Many thanks robuko for your kind words. Yeah, one of my main aims when building a car is to keep a low stance in order not to "dwarf" the figs too much. Many thanks gotoAndLego! Many thanks Mr Copperhead. Yes, I think it is great fun to play with this subject. When you check out LegoMyMamma's LEGO Friends Group on Flickr you see that there are many very inspired Friends MOCs already (I don't mean my own stuff). Many thanks SeanM, glad you like it. You are right - it obviously is too clean. There were several changes with this MOC, as usual - in the beginning there was some brown in it instead of read to make it look rusty. But this looked rather odd in combination with the doll. So I added Rod the Rat to keep the whole thing a Rat Rod . Many thanks Lego Guy Bri! Well, yes, it's a big car, but she seems to like it. - The rod rolls very well, since it has technic axles. Many thanks LEGO Train 12 Volts! Thanks a lot snaillad!
  21. V-LV-66F & B-V-15F Hi all, after all the cool cars for Steph and her Friends now for something hot, rather a mixture between a rod and a dragster. The cabin is 6 studs wide - to get a smooth cab like this as a 7-wide seemed too difficult to me. Some specs: Very big block V8 with cosmetic ignition 2 openable suicide doors Detachable roof Fits (sadly only) one minidoll I think you can guess the name of Steph's rat As an addition 2 photos of some Cars furniture (this is what a motor head has in mind when thinking about indoor design ). C&C welcome as usual. Thanks for looking. Pictures are linked with Flickr.
  22. Awesome and very sleek roadster, lightningtiger, I like it a lot. No other color could have been chosen here. I especially love that looooooooong hood, the wheels are nicely placed at the very edges of the car which creates a very dynamic and classic touch here. Keep it up!
  23. Just blinded by all this shininess No, I was talking about the blue and the trans blue parts. I thought this was rather an unusual combination (but maybe only because I know so few sets). Of course there are the cop cars, but then there's always some white in it, too.
  24. Another fantastic batch of vehicles L@go! I've probably seen them all on Flickr already (and commented on some of them) but like this they form quite a Lego motor show in its own right. If I were a minifig I'd visit it! Let me say first that IMHO this assortment and presentation of vehicles is top-notch at this scale in all aspects you can imagine - design (especially color design), building techniques and, not least, photography and lighting. Since there are so many it's impossible to comment on all of them so I'd like to choose three vehicles which are probably my fav favs here. 1) Jensen Interceptor A real big like, I especially love its silhouette. It's beefy and elegant at the same time. In spite of all those different angles and slopes and all the SNOT-work the overall shape is fantastic. The color combination between the two different shades of blue works very well IMHO, same for the chrome. 2) Blue Fury Another blue one. I like it even better than the original - it's very sleek and low. The grille sits nicely behind the front axle which adds to the impression of the vehicle as something very dynamic, same for the broader rear end. 3) Tine Truck In spite of its being a truck it's very elegant, too. The color design is fantastic IMHO - if this was a set I'd instantly buy it. I also like the way you work with Thomas Selander's cab design and integrate it into something new and very stylish. Why not use an already existing design that can't be improved (or at least I can't think of it, too)? Concerning the box one might think of it as 7 studs wide - but I am sure there is a reason why you kept it this way. It's great anyway. Looking forward to the next batch of fantastic cars!
  25. Fantastic! I am a huge fan of your work, and this is really really an awesome ship, perhaps one of the most accurate I have ever seen built in Lego. The hull is very ingenious, as are all the stunning details. I could look at this for hours (and will certainly do). Keep up the fantastic work!
