  1. This sounds like a suspenseful story. Looking forward to it! The building looks great, too.
  2. A fantastic build with great solutions for all the details. I especially love the colour combinations with their nice contrasts and the sliding SNOT door, of course. But there is so much to see that's perfectly done, the house would make a great MOC for itself. Top-notch garage, couldn't be done better.

Thanks a lot oirad 72 and LT12V! Glad you like it.
  4. Wow, this looks gorgeous, I love it! The sign works very well, same for the lamp post. The slanted display is a great idea. Great job on this!

    Thanks Henrik!
  6. Great! Although I'm not too fond of those wheels and mudguards used on town trucks, the shaping is very nice. But I especially love the interior, which is very inspiring.
  7. Looks great so far! Looking forward to the next steps.

Thanks a lot LEGO Guy Bri! Hopefully there'll be a GB set soon ...
  9. Oh well ... I rather thought of the way it's done in Fire Brigade or Pet Shop, but I must admit I never tried that technique myself. Anyway looking forward to the station - looks very promising.

    Thank you!
  11. Great stuff LT! I really love this, it's very stylish, especially the interior (that fan ... ). Of course I like it better without the sticker ... Have you ever thought of brickbuilding the letters? There's probably not enough room for "Hooper's Hardware", but maybe for "Hooper's".

Thanks a lot LT! Yeah, at least pressing the power button from time to time really makes you feel good. Well, there is no Lego Ghostbusters sticker but if somebody knows a sticker that could be taken instead (maybe a road sign?) I'd be grateful. Thanks a lot! Thx!

[Hopefully the right forum, but since the MOC is clearly town and minifig related, since the theme is not (yet) a licensed theme and since some movie cars like the Bluesmobile and the Mad Max Road Warrior are here, too, it might be a suitable place. If not, feel free to move it.] Hi all, I know, we have seen quite a few Ectos lately (btw good luck to Brent Waller with his Cuusoo proposal, that would be a fantastic set ), but well, since there are some special aspects with this one, it might be worth to upload it here, too. Now this can be called a co-operative MOC, since full credit for the whole 9V technical unit (plus roof and ghostbusters greeble) goes to my dear friend Brucewaynelego-Toyshansolo, see http://www.flickr.co...157623498552724. Since he had already found an ingenious solution for the main problem, I just had to transplant it into a new car body. Here you can see it in action (sorry for the poor quality): The car itself is 7 studs wide and built in the so-called bracket-and-tile style I have used for most of the cars lately. It fits 4 whole ghostbusters and a 9 volt light & sound battery box. The cab can be detached to get the figs in and out of the car: And that's it so far. C&C welcome as usual. Thanks for looking.
  14. Great stuff. While the interior is very well done the facade is my favourite aspect here. It is very well proportioned and profiled, and I love the colour combination, especially the dark blue accents, the protruding windows and the small entrance staircase. You really get the maximum out of this format, can't think of a more elegant building of that size.
  15. Great victorian! The exterior is excellent, but it's the interior that makes it outstanding. The furniture is very well designed, and I love the details like the glass containers in the kitchen, the SNOT sofa and the bottle ship, of course. Keep up the great work!
  16. Lots of great art deco shapings and details are in here - very inspiring!
  17. I really love this. It's got a nice shaping and many details I like, e.g. the hedges, the shape and colour of the roof, the SNOT windows, the angled SNOT floor ... Great job!
  18. Many thanks Aussie BJ! Those dogs ... I must admit, I hadn't seen them before, but you're right, from that angle there's the illusion of dogs there. The garage door is a larger version of the one within the town house (in fact the large one is the original design). What do you mean by "white 8L plates"? Thanks a lot for a second comment, dvsntt, glad you like it that much. You're right, those are minifig hands inside headlight bricks plus a technic 1x1 because the hand doesn't fit in completely. Brickbuilt roads aren't a new idea, we (Altezza and me, that is) thought of a way to build a city by building parts of it that can be quickly put together for certain purposes and that is as versatile as possible. Another thought was that the use of baseplates and streetplates has more disadvantages than advantages (in our opinion), since you are forced to build within a rather rigid pattern (e.g. you can't extend a street the way you might need it in a special situation). But it's only a start, we'll see how it will turn out. Many thanks Captain Settle! They are hidden in the cheeze frieze at the gable. Many thanks Henrik. When I found out that my usual BL dealer didn't have them in white I was very pleased to find two of them within the FB. Thanks a lot The Dutch Guy, glad you like it!
  19. Thanks a lot LGB, glad you like it! I'd like to add another photo to show the garage door mechanism. I guess this hasn't been done before, at least I haven't seen it so far. Feel free to use it. Many thanks all for commenting and viewing!
  20. Thanks LT, glad you like it! Thanks jluckhaupt! I can also see a lot of things, but it all takes much time ... Many thanks timmyc1983! Glad you like the details, too. Thanks a lot Kristel! Glad you like the mentioned details. Since there's no interior I try at least to include some details on the outside. It's the idea of that system to omit any baseplate or road plate, so that you are free to combine buildings at any width you want, even change a setting quickly, since there are modules for each purpose, streets with different widths, pavement modules with or without streetlights, ramps and so on. Thanks TheLegoDr, glad you like it. To be honest, I'd even climb a steeper staircase if I could afford such a house, but you are right, for them it's quite difficult ... The pillars are a shortened version of the ones used at the Gas Station, I also think the design will be used again ... Thanks a lot dvsntt, glad you like it. Maersk Blue is surely a great color for something like this, too.
  21. Oops, that's quite a coincidence ... Great, I especially love your modifications. You have lifted the mid and rear section by one level, right? By using that steering wheel you can have rear-view mirrors and use that windscreen which looks better than I would have thought (have never used it so far). The light grey rims are very nice, too. Now you need one or two stylish figs to cruise around with it.
  22. Thank you, glad you like both the car and house! There were one or two smaller buildings and a modded GE so far, but this is the first modular building as a MOC.
  23. Thank you, glad you like the car, too! - That's why I have written "2 whole minifigs". Thank you!
  24. Thank you, glad you like the details, too. It's nice that there are those rims, they add a lot to the look - without any modification. Thanks! Well, one of them is the export version ... I don't think the house is too wide, it meets the proportions of the original quite well. Of course, as a modular it might look a bit unusual. Thank you, glad you like the details, too! Of course, the car is 6w - took some time to find a way to do this. There has been a mixture between 6w and 7w cars, and that seems quite logical to me. Thanks for the hint concerning a folded-down roof - hopefully there will be some more versions, and I'll surely add something like it. I probably wouldn't have thought of the Painted Ladies myself, so it's fair to mention the inspiration. I think it's a nice way to get some color into your city.
  25. A first modular. In fact it’s meant as one of the famous Painted Ladies in San Francisco, the idea being borrowed from Henrik Hoexbroe who has built a whole row of them. In a larger scale you can find them in Legoland California, too. Obviously the future town will have some Frisco stuff in it, at least there’s already a very fine Cable Car built by Altezza. There is no interior, but, since cars are still important, a working garage door. The garage even fits the full-size cars. Due to the SNOT road and pavement system there is no usual baseplate, so a width of 21 studs is no problem. Building in an odd width widens the range of possibilities, e.g. you can have cheese on both edges as you can see in the frieze at the gable. Some details: The pillars at the bottom of the staircase are shortened versions of the ones used at the Gas Station. The curtains at the windows of the second floor are made out of bridal veils. The garage door (probably) has a new mechanism which allows any width. Later I’ll show how it works if you are interested. The chimney is completely wrong, will be changed. The roadster is new, too. Its platform is based on the full-size cars, but smaller (6w). It’s built by combining bracket-and-tile and brick techniques and fits two whole minifigs. It doesn’t have a spectacular design, but seems like a step in the right direction on the way to build some smaller cars that go well with the CC style. Hopefully the platform can be developed further. Thanks to Na Dine for providing the old windows. Thanks to all for looking! Some more pics:
